@BasiliskStare Its two separate cases.
Misconduct in public office is definitely for the UK courts. As it involves the Official Secrets Act any court case is highly likely to be held behind closed doors. This will be because the contents of briefings and emails maybe too sensitive to be disclosed to the public. We would get to know the outcome.
At the moment the police etc. are still gathering information, some I believe is being withheld by the US. I expect it to take several years for this to come to court. Note Rape victims can wait years to have their court cases heard.
I know many would object to a behind closed doors court case but national security comes first.
WRT Epstein primarily that is a US case. The US Government could apply to have AMW extradited but I think it is highly unlikely.
I know my view is not popular but I have never thought the poor women and men trafficked and abused would see justice.
I believe Epstein, and others, used the victims to gain “evidence” to blackmail and coerce primarily powerful men to obtain sensitive information for monetary gain. The bigger picture was bribery and corruption and the victims were treated as disposable - an awful thing to do.
I don’t think we will ever get the full truth.
If there is evidence AMW had sex with trafficked women in the UK there could be a court case. However, at the time of the offences the law was different and AMW will claim he had no idea the victims were trafficked so the CPS have no grounds on which to prosecute.
