I suspect she's savvy enough not to have signed any NDA relating to her marriage, so she could spin the narrative that Harry has been a nightmare to live with, throwing angry tantrums, being controlling etc. And that he gaslighted her into saying what she did on Oprah etc – she never heard the racist remarks, he stirred up the issues with his family etc – and that her reactions were all triggered by his lies. I think the American public would believe her.

The only issue is the children. How far would she go to criticise him, knowing he's the father of her kids?

I've said this all along. If you watch the Oprah interview closely she herself actually confirms and denies virtually nothing - she sets it alll up then lets him come on and do all the dirty work.

I've always thought her longer term plan is to divorce him, take a settlement, then make her millions (or as she hopes, billions) from revealing all about their life together. She'll feed into recognisable narratives that are in some sense relatable to many women - she was love bombed, married in haste (possibly due to age/wanting children), realised quickly he was very damaged, stayed with him to try and be his saviour, had to tolerate the cannabis which fuelled his paranoia/control of her, she didn't want to lose her children to the institution (playing on a lack of awareness in America especially about these things actually go, likening her plight to that of Frances Spencer perhaps)...

It's no wonder to me that she hasn't spoken out or written a book yet - that's all in the bank for her post-divorce life.

At one level MM has zero clue about PR, largely fuelled by her own narcissism - she cannot contemplate that she may make a misstep. At another level, she is incisive about protecting herself, even (or perhaps particularly) with regard to/at the expense of, her own husband. It's as if she can see it to the local, but not to the global.

She's an interesting lunatic, that's for sure!

I rather lost the train of events yesterday due to real life/work being irritatingly necessary - is the general feeling then that Hazza repudiated the offer of Buck House in a tantrum as his brinkmanship gamble re: security/holding the kids over C3 hadn't worked, then realised it would make a great base for a public statement of a Pyrrhic 'victory' post-ANL, only to be told by TMIG who had seen through this ruse that he could forget it?!!

Strawberriesandcaviar · 07/07/2026 11:03

I don't think MM will thrive outside the marriage.

She might survive, in the way a cockroach survives, but she has a terrible reputation, she's too old to be a trophy wife and she's finished in Hollywood (not that she really started tbh) with a reputation for being a narcissistic bully. Not great PR for a new start.

Can't speak for others but that's pretty much where I am.

The thing about him using BP as a venue for his big post-verdict speech is interesting. I could easily see how the grey suits would have wanted to avoid that.

If he was always going to be coming on his own I don't see why he'd need to stay at BP anyway. Just book a luxury hotel, as he had done on previous visits, and as he seems to be doing now anyway.

BUT didn’t H say that W and C were star struck when they met Meghan ?? And the family couldn’t believe he had landed such a hot girlfriend.
Hilarious when you think back .

I think this is wishful thinking on HAM's part! William and Catherine have met much more famous people, I don't think so, I can't imagine them saying "oh, a z list actress, oh my!"

I can see thats a plausible explanation for what’s gone on too.

Otherwise its very hard to make sense of the timeline - are we meant to believe that Harry (who has a week’s worth of engagements planned, an entourage and - in his own mind - complex security needs) has not made any plans at all for where he is staying in London until the day before he lands? If that’s not the case - and it seems unlikely, given he has staff with grandiose titles who presumably do something - then this is all game playing to some end.

For the plebs? No.
For him - not a taxpayer, not a member of the electore? He thinks so! He's a prince!

Exactly, it really makes you wonder just how mollycoddled he was by his family and their staff, as he cannot seem to accept the word No, presumably because he's never heard it before!

She certainly won't be able to find another husband she can control the way she does H. Control is her modus operandi.

The DM comments are often critical though. Anyone know what other more favourable ones to the Sussexes are saying? If BTL are unfavourable then that’s a turnaround.

When I looked yesterday the sugars subs on reddit are pretty quiet, posts of AI Meghan stuff and the usual black is white takes on the BP accommodation saga.

If the case goes against HAM it will be proof of the establishment plot, if not then vindication of everything which needs vindicating, probably for years and years, sigh.

I don't know about elsewhere on the internet but reddit sugar subs are pretty tedious with a few posters making all the running and saying the same old shite again and again.

She could do so much more commercially though, like adverts (many brands would still sign her) and paid interviews. She doesn't, because she knows she's got to walk a fine line while they're still married.

The only way I could see this being possible would be if she could make a joke at her expense.

Humour and humility could save her, but she has neither.

LemonGrapefruit · 07/07/2026 11:27

I suspect in the inevitable leaky interview to come, Harry will claim that he spoke to his father and took from their conversation that he could stay at Buck House (apparently they are now in regular phone contact) only to find that TMIGS blocked it. Rather similar to his and Meghan's claims to OW that they spoke directly to HMTLQ (presumably on the mobile he bought her so he could bypass her staff) about visiting her, only to find that the courtiers had booked her diary up so she couldn't see them after all.

He'll know that C3 can no more publicly disclaim this than his late mother could.

LemonGrapefruit · 07/07/2026 11:30

I keep forgetting to say, perhaps Harry knows that Buck House security is actually poor given that I seem to recall he somehow smuggled Netflix cameras in there? I'm sure there was an outcry when overhead images of him and Meghan walking out of the Palace around the time of Megxit appeared in the Netflix docuwhine and TMIGS were furious and concerned as to how they'd managed it.

(Prepared to be corrected on this though as I might be misremembering. Recollections may vary 😀)

Who would sign her? Everything she's done has flopped. She has only 4 million Insta followers. She's also very polarising, and advertisers run a mile from that.

I don't think she could do interviews either, because she has nothing to say. This is a woman who couldn't fulfill a lucrative podcasting contract.

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 07/07/2026 11:33

I'm in two minds about whether she'd divorce him, because she's getting a lot of attention by being his wife.

A anonymous billionaire would give her the luxury, but most billionaires are kind of anon. Lauren Sanchez is a bit of an anomaly in her public profile. Billionaires often live low drama lives because they have their own MIGS and a "pay the man" attitude to life's problems. (For example, I've no doubt at all that there are billionaires in Britain operating with illegal privately armed security, because they can afford to.)

She doesn't want to be anon. She wants to be famous, she doesn't want to operate under MIGS, and Harry provides her with endless opportunities to do that.

She does want the luxury and the prestige too - that's clear. But she doesn't want them enough to surrender "her voice".

I can understand that. I could be much more financially successful if I were less personally opinionated and didn't let ethics get in the way, for example! But at some point you have to stop whining about the world won't reward your brilliance and just enjoy what you can get being who you are, and enjoy your family most of all!

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 07/07/2026 11:35

(Funnily enough, I was head hunted for a job with a social media company, but wouldn't even interview, as from my perspective, I would simply be doing "cover up compliance" for something hugely harmful to children! I earn half as much working for a charity with a royal patron instead and enjoy sleeping unhypocritically instead :D)

I expect they watched an episode in preparation (if they hadn’t already), then made a bit of a fuss of her, expecting her to be a bit nervous as a nobody meeting royalty. Little did they know at that point..

So:

W+C: We’re so glad to meet you, we love Suits, how amazing to welcome a Hollywood actress to the family!

Normal person: Wow, how sweet to say those lovely things and make me feel at ease.

H+M: They are super fans and totally intimidated by Meghan’s superstardom, it’s all a bit embarrassing really, they’ll be asking for an autograph next.

MIGS may try to rehabilitate H's image but I am now not sure they would take him back

I hope they don't divorce for the HAMlets' sakes.

However, if they do, hopefully the RF's legal eagles will tie her up so tightly that she'll have less freedom than she had when in the UK. A massive financial settlement as long as she stays totally schtum, a proper Mrs Zippy. A settlement made up of a 'mediocre' lump and then ginormous monthly payments for her and the kiddies to live the dream....but read the small print MM, read the small print!!

If she can't keep her gob shut then the monthly payments for her would stop and she's back to jam and dried flowers.

(KC3 and PW will find the money down the back of some sofa to fund it, thus keeping control)

I think you're possibly underestimating how much Americans will re-warm to her as a Royal divorcee who's escaped a controlling marriage to a giant balding man baby with a drug problem* and an explosive temper... Weren't there stories to say she tried to talk him out of releasing Spare? She won't be Diana II but I think she'll definitely get some mileage out of admitting her wrongs and stating she wished she'd never married him. Throw in a tearful reunion with her one-legged dad and those gullible Yanks will lap it up.

  • All those hallucinogens he's taken for therapy. She'll have the receipts.
Lunde · 07/07/2026 12:02

It's interesting that Meghan didn't attend the Misan Harriman event because her friendship/acquaintanceship predates Harry.

Harry and Meghan have a long history with Misan. As a self-taught photographer, Misan only started taking photos in 2017 - but HAM chose him to photograph her pregnancy with Lilibet and he took the garden photos for her Lilibet's first birthday (back in the day we were allowed to see faces).

I think Harriman's activism was useful to HAM - especially the BLM protests. Harriman was also their specially chosen "official" photographer for the Nigeria faux tour - I'm wondering whether HAM were also keen to meet Misan's billionaire father.

Your post was referring to her now, and I definitely don't think she's marketable now. Plenty of evidence.

I also don't agree that she would become a big star in the event of divorce. She and Harry are middle aged and old news already. And she's already got a well earned reputation as not a very nice person. But I'm not going to speculate about what might happen down the line. Right now, she's definitely not attractive to advertisers and brands.
