I think you will find the rest of the world and Meghan care very much.
The titles should be removed fullstop in the event of a divorce. I’m sick of them taking the piss.

Apparently they are now ‘demanding’.
https://archive.is/FERUu
im sick to the back teeth of them. Demanding taxpayer funded security for ‘visits’ they do not have to do.

His source says it's wrong for 5th 6th and 7th in line to the throne not up have armed security ffs

MyDogClive · Today 21:05

I commented on the last thread that I thought whoever the latest person doing their coms was, they deserved credit for making the suggested visit look like it was happening, in the press at least.

I might be joining the hat diet gang - very fibrous I’m sure - but I guess they nearly pulled it off. Only for project thaw to turn colder than a nuclear winter in Siberia because of H & M. Do we think someone might be looking for another job?

Starryfifty · Today 21:06

By his argument, the York girls should have fully armed security so

Passingthrough123 · Today 21:06

Just reading comments on X that suggest Harry is now putting blame at William's door because staff from his office and Buckingham Palace make up a third of the RAVEC committee.

Way to go reconcile, Haz.

It's not really 'her' title. It's Harry's. In the sexist British system, married in royal women do not get titles in their own right. If they were to divorce she'd be allowed to use the courtesy title, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex but if she were to remarry she would have to give that up.

Mind you, now as a married woman she insists on calling herself Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex which is not the correct styling. She hasn't got a clue.

Is it sexist? What happened to Princess Margaret's husband, did he keep his title after divorce? Princess Anne's husband didn't take a title so no recent comparison.
Men tend not to, the York sisters for example. Why do women?
ETA. It seems that Earl Snowdon did keep his title, and his second wife became Countess Snowdon. So yes, it is sexist.
Personally I can't stand the titles, all such ugly words, so would be glad to see the back of it anyway.

bluegreygreen · Today 21:13

I think the titles will remain - I don't think there's currently the general appetite to remove them (remembering that to remove the title of Duke requires legislation).
Realistically the Sussex title is associated with them anyway, and will be for some time.

I think (either with King William or before) HRH will be removed from all but working royals; it will be used as the way to distinguish clearly between working and non-working royals.
It would mean that Charlotte and Louis would lose theirs, but could regain them as adults if they make the decision to be working royals and support George.

Edited

Of course it's sexist. Men hold titles in their own right. Women, unless 'blood' royals, do not and even they cannot pass on titles.

And yes, of course Margaret's husband remained the Earl of Snowdon after divorce, a title his son now holds.

I heard that about the freedom flight. Also the OW interview is wiped too

The transcript is archived forever. And I don’t even work for MI5. Sorry, Haz. You’re a busted flush mate.

Blaming his dad (again) and the MIGS. I thought he was on holiday anyway. Why isn't he taking a break from all this drivel

StartupRepair · Today 21:28

Meghan has a basic lack of understanding of huge swathes of relevant history and culture. Her fluency makes her sound intelligent but her frame of cultural reference is puddle deep consisting of Disney and Hallmark..And Mediaeval Times.

The royal Family is intricately entwined with understanding the military, the church and constitutional history.

Meghan never had a clue and clearly neither does Harry.

Also I’ve seen the Sidley Twins use excerpts from the interview recently so either they’ve retained a recording or it’s available somehow to American viewers.

A royal insider <a class="break-all" href="https://archive.is/o/FERUu/www.dailymail.com/vertical-galleries/article-15690617/Prince-Harry-allegedly-pressuring-King-Sandringham-invitation.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">told the Daily Mail that the Sussexes' trip was fast becoming an 'unwelcome mess' for both Harry and the King.*
'Harry really wants his children to see their grandpa. It's not clear how keen the King is to see them if it involves all these theatrics,' the insider said.
'Unfortunately, what should have been a chance to build bridges has led to more mistrust on both sides,' the insider said.*

<a class="break-all" href="https://archive.is/o/FERUu/www.dailymail.com/news/royals/article-15936837/Prince-Harry-Security-row-overshadows-UK-trip.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The Daily Mail's Royal Editor Rebecca English said last night that Buckingham Palace's patience with the Sussexes - and the constant psychodrama surrounding them - is being pushed to its limits.
The Palace offered them the use of a royal residence, but this has not been accepted with only a few days to go.

A source told her: 'For the sake of family harmony the Palace would have been perfectly happy with a peaceful and low-key visit. Yet, once again, they have turned it into a soap opera. It's tiresome.'
King Charles is said to be pragmatic and unlikely to reject any overture to meet his grandchildren discreetly for the sake of family harmony. However, recent events are making that increasingly difficult.
Insiders say the King would be deeply dismayed if the meeting no longer goes ahead

Seems like the Palace’s patience is wearing thin.
