A lot of engagements are shown on the Kensington Palace social media accounts that never reach the Court Circular.
That is before you consider that many of the projects they are involved with through their Royal Foundation will of necessity require a lot of meetings and networking that won't register as formal 'engagements'.

Speaking of their social media, one thing I have appreciated is that they often give people from the organisations and charities they are working with an opportunity to speak for themselves on the KP accounts - allowing those people and their cause a much greater reach than they would normally have.

Wow congrats Catherine! If you have energy for that, you have energy for working, right?

This is working - as highlighting an important cause via her platform

Clearly not lazy as she wouldn’t be able to do the three peak challenge.

I suspect she has something like crohns or colitis - my cousin looks the way she does and has crohns. Struggles to maintain weight gain, in spite of eating healthily and has had cancer in the past.

why make bitchy comments?

Some sad individuals just can’t resist showing their unpleasant side, can they?

I actually find it odd how vitriolic posters get towards Kate. She doesn’t have any of the qualities normally associated with a ‘love them or hate them’ personality.

She looks like she makes an effort to get the role right - she’s happy and smiley or somber and empathetic at the appropriate times.

She seems to have good relationships with the majority of her family and married family. She has loyal friends.

In over 25 years in the public eye there have been no scandals, no serious missteps, or controversies.

I would assume that at worst you’d be bored or indifferent to her.

Just the small matter of being racist to her sister in law and her and her husband throwing them under the bus to suit themselves…

You must have missed Harry’s update that the RF are not racist after all.

Apart from Harry said that they hadn’t said that and the press made it up. Go figure.

Everything in this post is wrong or false.

Which bits have I got wrong?

Do Catherine and William actually do the same number or more engagements than Anne / Edward / Charles? (The numbers are available, I’m not wrong)

Has W&C reduced workload been excused /explain due to her health and /or young children? Or is there another argument I’ve missed?

Do you think I’m wrong that being able to complete the 3 peaks in 24 hours is a sign she is stronger /fitter than the average women her age? Trust me, that is tough! If she can do that, she’s no longer too unwell to work full time.

Do you think I’m wrong that “young children” argument for why she can’t work doesn’t fit with all children being school aged, one already boarding, and them having at least one full time nanny so constant childcare?

or is it the money? The duchy does make him around £20-24m a year. They are usually rich. Why is it wrong to think rich celebrities should donate to charities not just ask poorer people to donate?

Yes, of course.

Just accept that they’re not the perfect people you think?

Recklessismymiddlename · 29/06/2026 06:59

No one is perfect. Harry said in an interview (think with Tom Bradbury), that in the Oprah interview he and Meghan, hadn’t said the royal family were racist and that press made up that they had said that.

Recklessismymiddlename · 29/06/2026 07:04

Whilst I can believe that some members of the royal family and royal household may well be racist I can’t see it being KC or Kate. Not even my republican mother believed that one. And she dislikes the royals and everything they stand for intensely.

How about a slightly different take: the work shy wife of a billionaire land owner undertakes a challenge with the support of tax payer funded security, private chauffeurs and mountain rescue experts. She then toddles off to her grace and favour home, where she’s warmly greeted by the aforementioned BILLIONAIRE husband, before cheerfully asking the great unwashed to donate to her worthy cause (during a cost of living crisis and time of high unemployment).

READ . THE . ROOM . CATHERINE

She didn’t really need to any of that did she. They could’ve just done a bank transfer for a few million £, and not miss it. Oh dear, I hope she won’t be too tired to dress up and wave at Wimbledon now.

What a weird perspective. The imagination of some people.

jeffgoldblum · 29/06/2026 00:04

One word! Jealousy!
of course they will deny it and make comments about how they would never!
but ultimately Catherine fell in love and married the heir to the throne! , he was a pin up , the darling of those who saw him grow up and now she will be a queen!
as far as these people are concerned she doesn’t deserve such things!

I thought about this, and I don’t think it’s jealously, it’s annoying that William and Catherine don’t seem to care about keeping up their side of the bargain.

The deal for Catherine was that she was marrying into great privilege and wealth, her husband and eldest child would become the next two monarchs. But there was a “job” to be done for that money and privilege and power. But William and Catherine don’t seem to be bothered about doing that job.

With this climb challenge, the last excuse she had - her being still not fully fit - has been quietly ended.

What do you mean by 'work full time'? Do you think she should get a job ? Like Beatrice and Eugenie or Zara who actually don't appear to work at all despite having 'jobs'?

Ohpleeeease · 29/06/2026 07:06

It’s actually very true though. Her father in law and husband are billionaires. Why should I donate to a charity they could fund for life?

Ohpleeeease · 29/06/2026 07:19

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 28/06/2026 22:39

I’m afraid I also think her doing this to ask for donations to the hospital when her dh makes around £20m a year from the Duchy of Cornwall, is a little poor reading the room. However, I think it’s great she’s well enough to do that. I’ve climbed Ben Nevis, then afterwards are pizza and slept, the idea of then having to go scamper up Scarfell Pike a few hours later would not be fun, I’m always in awe of the people who can do the 3 peaks back to back. (It does sort of kill off the “delicate flower” view of Catherine’s limited work schedule doesn’t it? If she can do this, she’s stronger and fitter than the majority.)

She hasn’t said she did it to raise money, she did it to raise awareness, which she has, of what people with a cancer diagnosis go through and how they are supported by the Royal Marsden. For all we know she could be donating generously from her personal funds but she has the class not to publicise the fact. The hope is that money will roll in from the raised awareness but more than this, it is a powerful message of support for those cancer sufferers who are facing this devastating illness alone or in more difficult circumstances than perhaps other people realise.

I think that’s reading the room alright.

What is it with people refusing to understand that William and Catherine have repeatedly said they are not going to do royal duties the old way? They don't want hundreds of patronages with endless ribbon-cutting and brief appearances. They've said time and again they want fewer patronages with greater involvement and long-term impact.
That approach also makes sense with a much smaller working Royal Family in the future. Every generation adapts and does things differently. Judging them by a model they've already said they won't follow misses the point entirely.

Clearinguptheclutter · 29/06/2026 07:23

I’m impressed
I consider myself to be pretty fit and got up Snowdon recently and once down again we were musing about how mental it would be to do all three in in 24h

Your username is apt here!

We are all aware of the things cancer sufferers go through. She has not raised any awareness doing this.

That comment is wrong on so many levels. Climbing three mountains in 24 hours is an incredibly demanding physical challenge that requires strength, stamina, and endurance. Yet another conspiracy theory debunked.
