Was it solo?! Who took the picture then?

She won’t have done it solo. Nobody with any sense would do that!

Lots of luck, if you’d feel comfortable posting a link to your charity I bet many on here would be happy to donate, myself included.

Please don’t let the nastiness on here upset you.

Was going to post something similar. The few people on this thread who are posting nasty comments are probably doing so for complicated reasons themselves. I can’t imagine why anyone would bother out of pure spite.

Like Catherine, you are a survivor. Don’t let others spoil where you are and what you’ve come through.

Your username is apt here!

We are all aware of the things cancer sufferers go through. She has not raised any awareness doing this.

Very luckily I have not had cancer. Until recently I didn’t know anybody closely who had. I know the basics of treatment but have only recently come to realise just what a toll it takes and the many side effects and challenges that go unseen. She has raised my awareness loads. I can’t be the only one.

Then one can assume you’ve been through life without consuming any sort of media

It’s actually very true though. Her father in law and husband are billionaires. Why should I donate to a charity they could fund for life?

Who says they don’t?

I actually find it odd how vitriolic posters get towards Kate. She doesn’t have any of the qualities normally associated with a ‘love them or hate them’ personality.

She looks like she makes an effort to get the role right - she’s happy and smiley or somber and empathetic at the appropriate times.

She seems to have good relationships with the majority of her family and married family. She has loyal friends.

In over 25 years in the public eye there have been no scandals, no serious missteps, or controversies.

I would assume that at worst you’d be bored or indifferent to her.

I think it's a combination of things. Some of it is envy—she's wealthy, has a close-knit family, a stable marriage, three beautiful children, and a prominent public role.

I also think a lot of the hostility comes from supporters of a certain couple who can't stand that Catherine has flourished within the Royal Family while Meghan publicly said she struggled there, and Harry described her as repeatedly crying on the floor. To those supporters, Catherine's success undermines the narrative that it was impossible to thrive in that environment. That's why some seem determined to portray her negatively, regardless of what she does.

Then you also have anti-monarchists who criticize everything the Royal Family does. They could cure every disease in the world, and some people would still find fault with it.

Why would you assume that?

Pistacheeo · 29/06/2026 07:38

Re; the late Queen "So let's not pretend she was a hands on parent doing the school run or attending their activities."
And Catherine does do this. It's the only bit of recent celeb gossip I do actually know.

I'd love to do the 3 Peaks but I live too far away and have zero support. Driving myself would end badly.

straighttola · 29/06/2026 07:39

Ohpleeeease · 29/06/2026 07:35

Why would you assume that?

Because this family doesn’t do anything without weighing up the benefits. If they were donating huge sums they would be publishing it, especially given the criticisms around them being so wealthy during such a tough time for so many. Given the protests at TTC, do you not think they’d be making it well known that they donate vast sums to a charity like this?

HV1952 · 29/06/2026 07:40

Well done Catherine. It’s a great achievement, and shows how you can become strong after cancer.
I don’t know what the holistic care is that she’s talking about though. Most NHS patients only receive the basics, then you’re left to get on with it. That’s been my experience.

Well don’t be silly. She’s automatically better than us because of the family she married into! So while we get the bare minimum or have to break our own backs to go private, she is handed the best care imaginable

Mylovelygreendress · 29/06/2026 07:51

Some of these comments take me back to the Where’s Kate threads .
Very unpleasant towards someone who doesn’t complain in public , lie etc and who seems to be a very warm person who clearly loves her family and tries to do a good job.

Isn’t that partly the point of what she is doing. The Royal Marsden is raising funds to set up an Holistic Centre to provide more of that care to people.

And Catherine doing this sort of thing is actually doing more than just turning up at the grand opening to cut a ribbon. The walk and other behind the scenes work probably doesn’t show on the court circular but the ribbon cutting will

Have you had direct experience of NHS cancer treatment? The staff and treatments are incredible and anyone has access to cutting edge treatments and trials if appropriate. The setting isn’t as pleasant as a private hospital but the skill and care is the same.

The actual treatment is good.

Everything around it just, isn’t.

When the rf have donated publicly they get torn to shreds too. 'why do they need to publicise it', 'only doing it to make themselves look good'.

And so on ad infinitum.

Yes it’s great that the Marsden is doing this, and is obviously a cut above other centres. There really is no NHS provided post cancer support though. Everyone finds that very difficult. We all know the state the NHS is in , the chances of having massage, decent therapy etc are very negligible. This really highlights the difference in the treatment she’s received. I wonder if she’s aware of it?

sittingonabeach · 29/06/2026 08:00

@HV1952 well hopefully the new centre will be available to NHS patients. My understanding is that Royal Marsden is both NHS and private

TubeScreamer · 29/06/2026 08:01

I’m impressed at anyone who does this.

Possiblyfamous · 29/06/2026 08:02

I’m fortunate locally to have excellent support available through charities like the Helen Rollason trust and Hummingbird. The individual cancer charities have excellent access to support - Breastcancernow is fantastic. It shouldn’t be charity - neither should hospice care but support is there but as said before the environment won’t compare!

Recklessismymiddlename · 29/06/2026 08:03

I don’t have cancer (thankfully) but have been quite unwell this year. Luckily nothing sinister but has left me housebound. Regular medication is just about taking the edge off. I’m trying different things, kinseology, reflexology, acupuncture, massage, you name it, if it’s alternative I’ll try it.

Raising awareness is a good thing. That’s all the woman is trying to do. Damned If she does and damned if she doesn’t!

APlateOfMixedFanciesAndANicePotOfTea · 29/06/2026 08:04

That is a gross insult to the NHS and the amazing care they, and supportive cancer charities, provide.
