"sources say he is leaning toward spending much of his private time with the Spencer family at Althorp,"

Surely either Charles Spencer has invited him (+/- Meghan and children) or he hasn't. If there is no invitation, it's not really up to Harry to "lean" towards spending private time there. If there is an invitation, he should have decided whether to accept and have a firm plan? How rude he is.
I do think the Spencer Aunts in particular have made an effort to keep in contact with both of Diana's sons. Not sure where they live - they could have them to stay? I can't imagine Charles Spencer relishing spending more than five minutes (if that) in Meghan's company and there have been several issues that I would have thought would merit a firm reprimand from him. He clearly won't be allowing cameras and film/photos, especially not around Diana's grave - I don't even know why there are rumours about this.
Charles S is very security conscious, I have seen it mentioned complaints of break ins, people trying to access Diana's grave, plus of course there is the whole house and its contents and the wider estate to consider. The reason he gave for refusing Diana a house on the estate was the security considerations. I very much doubt he would welcome all this circus. It's so ridiculous, Harry should absolutely not be mentioning any plans, thus he could visit Althorp privately by agreement/invitation without anyone knowing. Publicising it is an added headache for the Earl. Frankly I'd be withdrawing any invitation.

Good points here! It's just rude not to confirm with any family member whether or not you will be accepting their invitation/intending to stay with them.
I've said it before that whilst I think the Spencers have tried to be kind to Harry (especially the aunts), Charles Spencer is sharp and very conscious of his status of the uncle of the next Sovereign, and does not intend to upset William. At all.

Yes, its almost like he WANTS the paparazzi to chase him isn't it?

And, sorry but don’t post photos of the back of your children’s heads every week.

Someone needs to tell Harry that (1) he’s not that important (2) not everything he reads on the internet is true (3) his ego won’t fit through immigration at Heathrow (4) he can bring his kids over to meet his dad any place/time that his dad - who will be working right until he is in his deathbed - says he’s free at any royal residence where his children’s safety will be guaranteed because THE KING is there too.

The man is ridiculous and pathetic. Grown ass, father of two in his 40s acting like a pothead throwing self-absorbed, fantasist and delusional tantrums to get his dad’s attention. Meanwhile, everyone else gets on with their lives…

How could he not have known? It was spelt out to him. In that case, he's highly probable he has a learning difficulty tbh

I don't think that Harry had any conception of what things he thought were automatically his "right" as a royal, would actually cost if he had to provide it for himself.
-secure accommodation
-office accommodation
-staff - managerial/office/domestic/gardening
-cars and travel
-security
-clothing for engagements
-hobbies such as polo ponies etc etc
-a personal allowance from his father
-utility bills
-property taxes
-the "golden ticket" 🎫 to whatever sporting, concert or celebrity events he wanted to attend!

Harry, Meghan and OW thought they were living in the "frat house" whereas reality was he was living in a 17th century, Christopher Wren designed house in an RPO secured compound at Kensington Palace. Harry obviously didn't spend any of his own money on furniture - presumably expecting someone else to pay.

The package was worth millions every year but he didn't understand it and chucked it all away for short term gain when the original Netflix/Spotify contracts were dangled.

He had no compunction about selling out his family for cold cash - breaching their privacy and trust. Yet he now acts shocked Pikachu face when there is no easy way back to the status he craves and underlines his untrustworthiness by throwing toddler tantrums in the media.

Thanks@BasiliskStare.

I signed up to Tom Sykes' free Substack emails a few months ago, just to see how reliable he was.

Up until the last one that you've just quoted, he wrote as if simply believing the stories coming from the Sussex camp. The email before that one quoted the details they had released of their schedule and spoke in terms of 'Megxin' - that this was truly the start of their reintegration, and that Charles was weakly making allowances for them.

Over the previous couple of weeks he had also talked up the story of rifts between Charles and William.

It's interesting how annoyed the tone of that Substack article is. It's certainly a total U-turn from everything he had been saying.

If they were given police protection they would be on the same par as the rest of the working Royals wouldn't they? They aren't.

They want more protection than other working Royals.

Only the King, Queen and Wales family get full time protection

The other working royals only get protection when carrying out official events - Princess Anne doesn't get security to visit her friends or attend the theatre privately etc

The Sussexes do nothing to help themselves either by breaching their own security - they announce visits to the media and release their itineraries. Then they turn down the opportunity to stay in secure royal compounds where security is included but expect a full complement of RPOs to secure a floor at hotels/Soho House and sit outside day and night.

AtIusvue · 28/06/2026 17:14

Agree, Tom has been going on for a while now that RAVEC was going to give Harry full security. Blah blah.

Harrys camp have been feeding him for months …..and now he’s realised is all been bullshit.

He should have never have fallen for it. I expect they’ve now burned even more bridges….of the very few they had left.
They’re literally fucking idiots.

Well, no, they'd be being privileged over the working Royals - the ones who have security when they're on duty but not otherwise - so Anne, Edward, Sophie and the Gloucesters.

They made it very clear they were stepping back from the WRF and so they should be in the same position as anyone who isn't a member of the WRF. Nothing on this trip constitutes royal duties.

How come so many of those journalists couldn’t see what so many of us could ?

BasiliskStare · 28/06/2026 17:31

@Atlusvue and @bluegreygreen and others. I agree . I think H needs to rethink how popular he is in the UK . I also agree he is losing some of the few supporters he had. But I'm not sure he has the wit. I almost wish that Tom Sykes article could be covered in MSM.

I don't know if M will come for the photo opps but here's one thing I think. Remember Catherine being photographed at Ascot looking at people booing whilst she was in the carriage. I think that was by "not my King" republicans who don't want a monarchy at all. I think the difference with H&M is , they may be booed because they are deeply unpopular, so more personal. I don't know. Now I wouldn't be surprised if M makes it over to get photos and flog her clothes , but she must be a bit nervous about how she will be greeted.

BTW I am not condoning booing. I actually think the utter indifference to her Geneva roundabout talk, the lack of crowds n Australia spoke more volumes than a few people booing 😁

How come so many of those journalists couldn’t see what so many of us could ?

Maybe they were getting direct access to them? Maybe some things were true and therefore giving them lucrative exclusives…so they got hooked?

But in the end it was all part of the long game to manipulate the British press into getting the security/status they wanted.

Meg n Harry must have thought they were so clever.

Tom was one of the last few journos that actually had some sympathy for Meg n Harry….you can see he is absolutely seething.

They’ve deliberately been using and abusing their press contacts for weeks to try and manipulate the State and KC to provide them with what they demand. Now these royal commentators have realised they’ve been played.

Yes, there are one of two things that have been going on here, the journalists are either being paid or played by PH. I think it’s got to be the latter.

He thinks he is being clever but he hasn’t the intelligence to see that this is not a good idea.

This is a ‘man’ (used in the loosest sense of the word) whose sense of entitlement and drive to get his own way is so far off the chart that he sees no issue in using his own children in a publicly played out manipulation exercise to try and get what he wants. If you are willing to do that, then he will have no issue playing a journalist or anyone else. He really doesn’t give two 💩. And his wife is no better.

He is a disgrace and how anyone can be in the corner of either one of them I have no idea. I feel sorry for their children.

I loved the wedding, the weather was glorious, the music divine, the ceremony inclusive and huge crowds turned out to wish them well. I was so optimistic.
I thought Charlotte's dress looked awful though , far worse than the other bridesmaids - the hem was literally wonky!
The wedding cost millions, from the taxpayer and from Charles. He organised the African American preacher, the Gospel Choir, the Black Cellist.
I thought everything was going to go well.

I'm surprised they haven't stated since that some of those things were racist and highlighting the fact that Meghan was biracial. Knowing what I do know I can only imagine she secretly hated parts of this !

bluegreygreen · 28/06/2026 17:46

I'll be honest - I genuinely don't know if Tom Sykes believed what he was writing before or had simply decided that was the angle he was going to take on the story.

I do find it interesting how annoyed his most recent article sounds - but it more or less had to, given what he'd previously written.

He's been unreliable before (reporting re security for one) so I'm cautious.

ShamedBySiri · 28/06/2026 17:53

There were some good posts on the last thread reasoning why it is time to wind up Invictus. This circus, and all the events pointed out by Tom Sykes just underlines how the veterans and the whole raison d’être of the games has been undermined and completely trashed by the Sussexes - the writing was on the wall when Meghan inserted herself to lead the procession at the German games (whoever agreed to that?).

Just posting screenshots of those posts.

I dread to think how these children are going to turn out. Their parents are standing in their way of having a relationship outside them and their one grandmother.

I can't recall if I read it somewhere, or imagined it - but allegedly H originally planned to go to Australia alone to deliver a speech. M then decided to tag along and make it into a bigger event. Does anyone know if this is what happened?

Yes, I read that too.

Harry was going to Australia to replace a speaker who had to drop out. Meghan decided to tag along and make it into a 'royal tour'. The 'girls' weekend' where she was a 'star guest' was already scheduled with or without her involvement.

I did notice on the 'itinerary' they 'leaked' to 'Hello' magazine, there were no 'solo engagements' for Meghan. Just her glomming onto Harry and his events. So leaving it open if she will come or not.

Honestly, I find the whole thing distasteful. Security is a highly sensitive and confidential issue and shouldn't be made into a matter for public discussion and as some sort of 'tool' for the fool Harry to attempt to manipulate. And even worse, I feel sorry for their poor kids, being used as a form of emotional blackmail.

Just shameful behaviour really.

DaisyDooley · 28/06/2026 18:08

Oooooff @BasiliskStare .
That Tom Sykes piece is utterly eviscerating isn’t it.
Amazing how fast things turn isn’t it. On Friday they were all ‘meeting the king, staying in a palace, Archie & Lilibet meeting relatives, Invictus, Chelsea pensioners, going to mummy’s grave, MEGHANS COMING, Pictures with the king, Going to see the Spencer’s, Security……………….’
Then by tea time Saturday the bottom drops out of the (jam) jar and it all goes to pot. IM NOT COMING. MYWIFE AND CHILDREN ARE NOT SAFE’.
Frankly it’s time Camilla answered the phone to him with a large gin in her hand, told him to fuck off and blocks his number.

William must have a ‘Told you so’ look on his face right now.

bluegreygreen · 28/06/2026 18:09

@ShamedBySiri If you look at the welfare and sports rehab aspects of Invictus, they still are very useful for many veterans, not only for those with life-changing injuries.

I do think the time for the major international games aspect has passed, and it would be better for them to focus their attention on local/national work and then link in with their national Paralympic teams.

It is.

But how does that allow Meghan to fit in several outfit changes and cringey speeches?

Guest385 · 28/06/2026 18:25

Has anyone seen Chris Ships post on X? I am flabbergasted that’s he’s comparing Taylor Swift’s security with Harry and kids security, you know 5th, 6th and 7th in line to the throne. More drama over nothing. At least Taylor Swift boosted the UK economy, H and M only boosting their own economy.

It never ceases to amaze me how someone who grew up in the RF can be so unaware and stupid when it comes to Royal Life.

Asleep at the back of his class all his life.

Rainingcatsandog · 28/06/2026 18:29

DaisyDooley · 28/06/2026 12:37

Jane and Sarah (nee Spencer) live in Norfolk and South Lincolnshire respectively.
Sarah is involved with the Belvoir hunt and lives fairly near the castle.
Interestingly they both live within a hour of Sandringham which of course is the estate they grew up on.
I wouldn’t have thought either of them consider Althorp ‘home’.
They have had -and continue to I expect - a difficult time of fence sitting.
Im sure they were as horrified as we were/are with Harry’s continuing disruptive behaviour but are reluctant to cut him loose as he would then have no one.
Im going to say this but warn people it’s about suicide so if you don’t want to read , scroll now.
I never believed Meghans suicidal claims. Never for a moment.
However, I have thought that if anybody in that relationship was ever at risk from suicide it would be Harry.
My reasoning? Men are much more likely (biggest killer of men aged 18-50), Harry has massive unresolved issues from his mother dying, if Meghan left him I think he would fall apart, long term continued drug use by a man with mental health issues and not the sharpest knife in the block, and as l have said before he is pretty stupid but I’m sure even he now sees and regrets all he has thrown away - esp his relationship with his brother. He is consumed by jealousy, envy, bitterness and rage against everyone in his family who loved him - this must make someone massivly unstable . He has painted himself into a corner with Meghan and the kids -if she leaves him/divorces him he only has himself. What a prospect.
I think the Spencer siblings must also have had these concerns too which is why they continue to have a relationship with him and I expect that’s how they ‘sell it’ to William.
I suspect they have a lot of Déjà vu when they look at Harry’s mental instability.
Blood will out as my grandma used to say.

Totally agree

BigWillyLittleTodger · 28/06/2026 18:31

Thank you @BasiliskStare for posting that article, it was brutal! I hope Tom Sykes sends a copy to the palace, I think he is speaking on behalf of a large amount of people, hopefully now he won’t be played again.

If KC doesn’t realise by this latest stunt that his son only wants to use him and the institution for his own monetary benefit and, who I believe, doesn’t give one shiny shite about KC himself then I don’t know what will. William must be sitting on his hands wanting to say I told you so. H&M have just proved publicly that they are a pair of devious, nasty, manipulative users who don’t give a fuck about their family, the veterans, their charities or the British tax payer and will happily stamp on the necks of anyone or anything to get their own way, how anyone can defend them after this needs to question their own morals, they really do.
