The word fine is perfect for these situation where you don't to give anything away. Hopefully any room where they meet will be set up to record audio, at least, for when they twist it to their favourite scribblers. Maybe he could channel his late mother and say 'Have you come far?'.

Also of interest to me is the article in the Telegraph today about Jonathan Aitken, the former MP who was jailed for perjury after he brought a libel case against the Guardian.

H really needs to ensure that he doesn’t bring cases against the press and fib in court under oath … He’s no more important than Aitken was, possibly less. H has no immunity - he is prosecutable if he breaks the law.

Yep, H was really keen to blame that one on W&C, wasn’t he? He knows damn well how it looked/looks.

For what it’s worth, Wiki says:

’In April 1995, he was accused by The Guardian of misdeeds conducted under his official government capacity. He sued the newspaper for libel in response, but the case collapsed, and he was subsequently found to have committed perjury during his trial. In 1999, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison, of which he served seven months.’

I do recall it all being a huge scandal, and ‘trusty sword of truth’ entering the lexicon to mean = ‘load of old cobblers’.

I just read that Aitken’s libel trial collapsed when evidence was presented that showed he had lied under oath. So there wasn’t a wait for a judgement in that case, the police just started investigating and he was charged a few months later.

I doubt Harry would be prosecuted tbh. Think the CPS would be very reluctant to do so. It’s taken a long time to get AMW arrested and I’m not sure that will actually go anywhere, mores the pity.

I'll add that Aitken transferred all his money to his wife in order not to lose it of there was a financial penalty.

She skipped off with it to Switzerland.

Here's an idea- when they fly into the country, either KC, PW or POW, who I believe get 24 hour security(?) can go to the airport to meet them, with perhaps a banner saying "Welcome home, Harry and Meghan ". They can give them a lift to wherever they're staying, with their security etc alongside, perhaps a few motorcycle outriders, job's a good'un. Good idea? Can't see why not!

I mean Harry has definitely lied under oath. I’m sure there’s provable evidence of that fact.

Sadly I do think it’s unlikely that anyone would want to go near that charge though.

I don’t think he is quite on the same level as his cousins. They have only ever been grandchildren of a monarch whereas H is now the son of a monarch. But he isn’t the direct heir like his brother is. Or far enough up the LoS to have a realistic prospect of being the monarch.

So he is a notch above his cousins importance wise but wants to be on a par with William which is preposterous even before you consider he left the working royals and indicated a strong desire for privacy.

Royal insiders tell Naughty But Nice that Harry has been offered royal accommodations and full security by King Charles. While he’s expected to accept the King’s security arrangements, sources say he is leaning toward spending much of his private time with the Spencer family at Althorp, Princess Diana’s childhood home, rather than staying at a royal residence.

“Harry wants to see his father, and he’s grateful the King is helping with security,” a source tells Naughty But Nice. “But where he relaxes and who he surrounds himself with is a very different decision.”

Insiders say Harry plans to divide his time between both families, reflecting the complicated reality of his relationships.

“This isn’t about rejecting the Windsors,” another source says. “It’s about making time for the people who have quietly stood by him through everything. The Spencers have become his emotional safe haven.”

For me, re the Spencers, this just shows that no good deed goes unpunished. Now they have the threat of the Sussex clan descending en masse (presumably Althorp is more secure than Buckingham Palace?) Meanwhile, I doubt any family will ever be so delighted to be 'rejected' as the Windsors..

This also feels like something that's come from the Sussex camp, with the positive spin on how Harry gets to choose how he spends his time in the UK. Also the comment about the king 'helping with security' which I'd see as part of the projection we've noticed lately rather than factual.

Interesting… Rebecca English has just posted on x.com that despite reports to contrary, the Palace has NOT received any acceptance from the Sussex camp to its offer of Royal accommodation. So it looks like they wanted taxpayer-funded police protection while staying in hotels or at Althrop! Another commentator claims MM blindsided Harry by leaking that she and the kids were coming, because he was planning trip without them and that’s why it threw a spanner in works with the security. It’s almost like she’s manipulated coverage to make it seem like UK is to blame for her not coming and poor Harry-Nice-But-Dim has been hoodwinked again…

Yes, the claim that Charles is helping with security has already been denied. You can see why he doesn’t want to get involved in security decisions - if Harry gets it, uproar from the taxpayers who have to pay for security that Charles has organised for his non working royal son, if Harry doesn’t get it, nonsense from Harry about how his family must want him killed. Much better for Charles to stay well out of it and let the experts make their objective decision.
