However, there are two factions in the household: anti-reconciliation, led by Clive Alderton and supported by Prince William, and pro-reconciliation, led by the new courtier Theo Ryecoft, lined up as Alderton's successor. Both sides are now briefing. In the end, the king will decide what happens.

IIRC Harry was offered accommodation in Buckingham Palace on one previous visit and and stayed in a hotel because he said the palace security was inadequate, fool that he is. I'm not sure about the tale that the King is paying for security. He has been scrupulous so far in avoiding any suggestion that he's interfering with RAVEC and the Home Office.
