I fully agree with your overall point. It begs belief (if I've got that saying right!) that they didn't properly research or confirm their security position before they announced their exit.

I'm sure they will have been told, in writing (possibly in triplicate), the implications of leaving. They may not have listened.

We do know that Harry says his lawyers didn't tell him possible outcomes of his Home Office trial (professional misconduct if actually true, so we assume not).

The Sussexes absolutely knew they wouldn’t continue to get security before they left in January 2020. The evidence all came out in Harry’s unsuccessful judicial review of the Home Office. The trouble was that they didn’t want to accept what they were told.

Sir Mark Sedwill, the Cabinet Secretary (i.e. the Government, not the Palace) had told Meghan and Harry around 16 January 2020 that they should have no expectation that the present security arrangements in Great Britain would continue. RAVEC would wish to review what was appropriate. RAVEC would “not provision because they were celebrities and faced intrusive interest from the public or the press”. If they had concerns regarding the latter risks, they could look to private sector provision. Sir Mark noted he got immediate push back from the Sussexes on this.

This was then followed by an email from the chair of RAVEC to the Cabinet Secretary after the conversation referred to above, saying it was very helpful for those concerned to hear those messages from the Cabinet Secretary because “when they heard them from me their reaction was to go above me to try to block action of any kind”. So they had been told it by RAVEC as well.

Members of the aristocracy never parent alone. The kids are sent to boarding school then managed by staff when they're at home. Thats why so many of them are emotionally fucked up.

Possibly in the aristocracy but for centuries the Royal family tradition was home schooling (although with tutors). Charles was the first member of the royal family to attend school at the urging of Prince Phillip.

Thats a good reminder of how entitled and manipulative Harry is.

Oh yes. Remember on Oprah one of his main complaints was that the security rug had been pulled from under their feet while they were in Canada with no warning? The judicial review judgment shows that was utter nonsense. They had been told what would happen by RAVEC, by the Government, and security and the fact it would no longer been provided had actually been written up in the Sandringham agreement.

Who cares about the truth when you can play the victim to the world though….

Puzzledandpissedoff · Yesterday 18:49

Thanks for the reminder, @Serenster - I'd remembered this vaguely but not the detail, so that was useful

The key of course is that they "pushed back/objected to" what they were told, which they could hardly have done if they hadn't actually been told it in the first place, so as so often "Nobody told me" is yet another lie

And then some wonder why they have no credibility left at all ...

And we wonder why Oprah has pulled the interview 😂

In the audience

Love this. Mr King himself, sitting in amongst everyone else at the RSC in Stratford. I am very jealous, as couldn’t get tickets for The Tempest. What a contrast with old ‘I want all these seats cleared of plebeians’ Markle at Wimbledon a few years back.

Such stuff as dreams are made on: King Charles attends Shakespeare

Charles was greeted by the Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire, Tim Cox, as well as the Royal Shakespeare Company's (RSC) co-artistic directors Daniel Evans and Tamara Harvey.

I just don’t know how Harry didn’t understand that they simply could not ‘take their security detail’ with them -never mind having three!
Even I knew about & understood the rules around MET armed security and the agreements with other countries when the royals/Prime Minister goes abroad.
Is he really so stupid?
And surely Meghan must have realised early on he is stupid (despite her ‘he’s so smart’ comments) so would have checked rather than blindly believing everything he says??

Well it turns out that they believed there was more money in connecting securidee to tidels and ... dum dum duuumm ... skin colour, which of course was all a load of bollocks - and that it was all bollocks was the genuine truth that Harry eventually angrily gave away in an interview while of course blaming others. I mean, it's a bingo card with Harry.

Who Will Harry Blame Bingo:

My father
My brother
Catherine
Camilla
The men in grey suits
The Briddish press
The BBC
Israel
Russia
Trump
Social media
Eton
That pub
Women
Ugly women
Really ugly women
The British public
My lawyers
The judge
Netflix
The Taliban
Taylor Hawkins

I can't imagine he'll make Meghan's life particularly pleasant if she ever finds herself added to his shit-list.

Harry thought the threat of losing security was to force them to stay ! The reality was probably very different.
I am still trying to understand how H and M thought M was the face of the RF !

Because they are both delusional, grandiose, arrogant and entitled - the four horsemen of the Narc.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · Yesterday 20:05

@MyAutumnCrow I think you need to add a few more 'My brother'

noonames · Yesterday 20:18

Don’t forget “The Establishment”
Quite hilarious from a member of the royal family 😂

Mostly William and Catherine though.

And we wonder why Oprah has pulled the interview 😂

I have no idea what said pulling is supposed to achieve.

The whole world saw her lapping up the lies, purring and basically failing elementary journalism.

As for the security stuff, Harold was advised the detail in no uncertain terms at Sandringham.

I think it was a huge mistake to send UK protection officers in the initial stages of finding freedom.

It fed his delusion and entitlement and went on to be abysmally abused when highly skilled officers were sent out to collect coffee.

You mean Kate ? Despite making it clear that she prefers Catherine .

I don’t have TikTok or Instagram so can’t check myself, but apparently As Ever has posted a recipe for scones, with a pic of clotted cream under her raspberry spread and flower sprinkles 😂. The day after William discussing the very same thing (cream first or jam first) with Amanda Holden on the radio 😂😂. I can confirm, from my two-decades living in the USA: scones and clotted cream aren’t a thing here (clotted cream extremely difficult to get hold of, scones unheard of and you have to say they’re like American “biscuits”), and have no relationship whatsoever to Memorial Day Weekend. She’s hilarious!! I’m counting down to her pronouncements re bygones/forgiveness/moving on!

Yes, I've seen it. I really think she's got a problem, it's not healthy.

Leaving aside for one second how utterly disgusting that looks, how could you possibly eat it?

(Assuming for reasons that you wanted to)

Starryfifty · Yesterday 20:53

Didn't Harry say he was "ready to forgive" during the BBC interview? 😂

The scone. She's getting really pathetic now

Thedom · Yesterday 20:54

I just saw she has a second video with a scone, clotted cream and raspberry jam.

She is really scary.

Williams comment was just an off the cuff chat and M has jumped on Williams comment to make content for her own brand.

Thanks (?) for the photo! That’s an extremely flat scone, an awful lot of cream, very runny honey and additional bits to get stuck in your teeth. Tell me you’ve never had a cream tea in your life without telling me…😂

She really is the gift that keeps on giving!

ETA: I can only think that this stalking is a crack-handed way of signalling a desire for rapprochement when you have no actual lines of communication open to you! Otherwise why do this? Does she think she could really do scones and jam better than the British - nay, royal British? Is she fine coming across as a stalker? Is she fine with accusations of merching her royal adjacency (maybe she is?) Or perhaps she wants to hasten or trigger the final cutting if cords with the RF, maybe to make $$$ because coffers are running low? Whatever it is - she’s utterly unhinged.
