I don't agree.
Have a look at how many girls were registered with the name Lilibet in the years the OP says.
It is very, very rare before 2021.

So you are equally saying that the poster is a liar and that they have broken GDPR put the girls at risk.

noonames · 30/05/2026 12:40

Can anyone tell me - I have asked this before but no joy - how Lilibet is pronounced? Is it like silly pet, or does the e disappear, like halibut? Is the stress on the first syllable like avocet or on the last like Antoinette?

I suggest you read my posts.
Not what you imagine I have written.

Like “silly pet “ I think 🤔 could be wrong but it’s to sound a bit like Elizabeth.

Yes, I think so - I've heard it on a documentary about the late Queen's life, and it came about as she was unable to pronounce her name when very small, so that became her nickname.

Yes that’s what I heard too!

I have asked for my posts that may reference the information to be removed, not gone yet though.

noonames · 30/05/2026 13:00

In Elizabeth though, the second e is not really like the e in pet, the -beth doesn’t sound like the standalone name Beth. (I don’t think.) In the full name it’s more like buth or bth, so I was thinking maybe Lilibut / Lilibt like halibut.

FenellaFeldman · 30/05/2026 13:03

Good points about people styling themselves as Prince and Princess in the USA. I heard that Japanese princess had dropped her titles.
I thought you had to, for US citizenship? I could be wrong.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 30/05/2026 13:03

They then decided that once the Queen took her last breath that their children were now Prince and Princess and started to use the titles before aby official announcement

Which rather suggests they knew exactly the point at which the kids would be entitled to the titles, @JudgeJ ... in which case why try to suggest that it was only because of racism that they didn't get them at birth?

This is the trouble with being deceitful, or like the absent fans insisting that their very word "proves" something to be true - people tend to notice

I don’t know if it’s regional but it’s always been pronounced Eliza”Beth” as long as I can remember hence the shortened version “Beth”

Not only is it one of their most offensive lies, it's blindingly obvious that it's a lie - because the children have those titles! So strange.

So how did it come about?
Did Oprah say you don't have enough material for what I'm paying you so you need to jazz it up?
Or did Harry tell Meghan that because he wanted to keep her distant from his family?
Or did he just not know?

It came about because the pair of them lie constantly, think everyone is stupider than them and nobody calls them out for their lies, Meghan wanted to use the race card and piggyback off the current situation at the time and because she had no actual evidence, they needed to invent some!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 30/05/2026 13:14

Small hitch there, @RecollectionsMayVary ... along with the assurance that H&M didn't know what questions they'd be asked Oprah also said they weren't being paid for the interview

And for all I know some may even have believed it Confused

Sadly we know full well that many on here did believe them and still do to this day despite the evidence to the contrary!

Only too true, jeff, but there's no accounting for a complete suspension of judgement, sense or even reality Sad

... therefore Archie and Lilibet are not now, nor have ever been allowed to be Prince and Princess?
Make it make sense....

I've clearly read the transcript.

I want to know how the lie was created in the first place.

Oprah paid a lot of money for a sensational interview - it is quite possible that when she realised the extent of the allegations were not sharing a lip gloss and wearing tights, she realises that she wasn't going to get the bombshell she had been promised.

Would that only be if you claimed US citizenship later? Because otherwise Lilibet couldn't be a princess as she's a US citizen. I don't know anything about it! But it's interesting.

As if Miss 'I can't believe we are not getting paid for this' did the interview for free.

People do believe it, and the fault is with the media/Oprah for printing without fact checking.

But facts and truth these days seem to be optional.

Mmm, it's a strange one. I thought titles didn't exist in the USA?

Interesting - I have always heard it with much less of the flat e (and I am one! Well, middle name anyway). I love the name Elizabeth, Lilibet not so much. But then it’s a family nickname and not meant for public consumption. We have a DC with a nickname from when his sister couldn’t say his full name properly - nobody in their right mind would use it as an actual name though!
