Does America know it has its own princess? , I mean they are a republican country that fought a war with us to rid themselves of such titles ! 🤷‍♀️

I'm also quite sure that she isn't Americas only Princess from a foreign royalty.

Yes, and it's all in the public domain. The ONS records it as one of the rarest names. You can easily find the registration of this name, so it's very identifying.

No indeed not ! , I believe they have an additional two ?! One from Japan if I’m correct 🤔

i take this seriously @FenellaFeldman! , my dd has a very rare name that if it was mentioned on here would take no difficulty in tracking her down!! , although I never put my children on sm or allow pictures to be shared 🤷‍♀️

I think the other one might have been Madeleine of Sweden, jeff, except I believe she's left now?

Mako of Japan's still there, living in Connecticut, but she renounced her title so doesn't go by "Princess" any more

Good call. Even so, it's almost certainly not as rare as Lilibet. If you call your child what amounts to a unique name, but also linked to a late monarch and very particular, then you have to be extra careful.
You can have a look at the ONS and note how many girls were called Lilibet in the time frame given by that poster.
I'm not sure what the odds are, but my goodness you'd make a lot if you predicted those two girls would go to the same school! 😁

I don't agree. That's not how statistics work. I can well believe it is true.

It's like the statistic that if there are 25 people in a room then there is more than a 50% chance that someone will share a birthday.

And then there are social factors that increase the chance of a name being used. I can well believe it, but agree that that much detail shouldn't be shared on MN.

I read the name Lilibet but my head reads it wrong and it becomes quite unfortunate and not an nice thought.

Have you heard of the GDPR and Data protection Act ?

Yes ! Well done that was exactly the two I was thinking of! 😁

jeffgoldblum · Yesterday 11:36

I’m also aghast that the poster felt inclined to include that one of the girls is “mixed race “ , I fail to see the relevance! And contrary to what has been hurled at the U.K. in allegations, not something that average people care about or take note of!

Recklessismymiddlename · Yesterday 11:37

@MyLeftSkiBoot id suggest asking MN to ask for your posts to be removed. Too identifying, but obviously up to you.

I have used it in real life. It is a great clap back.

So far, it's the phrase of the century in my opinion and so useful, wish it had been around when I was still at the chalk face and parents were lying about their monstrous off-spring's behaviour!, beats Right all the way.

Sigh, I have already changed few details (like not the exact ages or year groups) as well as name changed so it stays anonymous. I just thought it was an interesting detail to share, that is all. There are a lot of all girls grammars/schools in this country.

@Wordler "And if he’d had a shred of decency in him he’d have pointed out that the only reason his kids didn’t have Prince/Princess titles was because they were great grandchildren of the Queen."

Just so - even Harry couldn't have been so dim as to know what his children were entitled to at the time they were entitled to it. The pair of them were dreadful in that interview IMHO.

They then decided that once the Queen took her last breath that their children were now Prince and Princess and started to use the titles before aby official announcement. It would have been reasonable for the Palace to say that as they were not the grandchildren of the monarch at birth they were not entitled to be P and P. When George V drew up the rules I don't think that great grandchildren were envisaged, this situation is not addressed in the rules, everyone else kept their birth titles, eg Anne is not the current monarch's child or grandchild.

MyLeftSkiBoot · Yesterday 12:16

I will ask to remove it. I clearly read the room wrong as I thought it was just interesting detail. And surprised to see the name in the wild. I feel bit bruised after this experience but as I said, I clearly misjudged the situation.

Good ! Children should never be used or outed for entertainment!

It is very, very rare before 2021.

Good point

bluegreygreen · Yesterday 12:27

It might also be worth other posters asking to remove some of their posts that repeat the details in MyLeftSkiBoot's post.

(I don't mean the ones that quote it, as they will be automatically removed.)
