I wish instead of those rubbishy C5 programmes, they would do a fact check of all of H+M’s pronouncements since leaving. Ok it would probably have to be a series 😂

But just playing back to back clips of them lying contradicting themselves, or debunking their wild claims with evidence. My father cut me off. Kate is cold. A courtier told me the Queen Mother had died. We got married three days before. It would be impossible for the children to go to school in the UK without getting papped. The near catastrophic car chase. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. This has been the worst 7 years of my life. We don’t want Archie to have a title. They wouldn’t give Archie a title because he was too brown. We never said they were racist. We had nothing to do with that book. We need to make sure nobody knows we’re helping with the book. @noonamesI would definitely watch that. I never watch royal documentaries unless there about things like hosting state dinners or Christmas at Sandringham. I find that kind of thing fascinating.

I just can’t see how a visit to Balmoral would work.

You absolutely wouldn’t want to put them in the main house to be used as an Insta back drop.

If you put them in a cottage they’d be outraged at being “exiled” (oh the irony).

You’d be unable to relax at all, considering how every interaction will be filed away for further use.

I can’t see them agreeing to an NDA - another reason for outrage at even being asked.

Harry may well want a reconciliation but he and M have made that so very difficult to see how that can be achieved (and I’m not convinced M wants to ever step foot in the UK again anyway).

The spare stuff is annoying because the Andrew is such a disaster, and Harry has made it his life's work now to paint being the next in line to the heir as such a burden. (And the Crown hyped up Margaret's off the rail moments)

Plus Diana and her "I wasn't needed anymore once I'd provided an heir and A spare"

It's made it seem to some people as though there is only one spare and that role creates an burden or a corrupting influence.

All the siblings to the King are 'spares' until the heir has kids, because you never know what's going to happen. So imo Anne and Edward were both spares alongside Andrew.

I do think it's a good thing to have more than one sibling to the heir to make it feel less of a contrast between siblings though.

Andrew was only 22 when William was born - he could technically still have been needed for the line of succession but Charles' siblings effectively stopped being spares at that point.

I also thought Harry's comment that he only had a limited time to make his mark before all the attention would be on George was telling. George growing up doesn't stop Harry doing good work, he's not talking about the work, he's talking about press attention, which tells you that he cares more about how he's perceived than doing something for its own sake.

Yes - and Harry is the only one in this weird competition because of course William and George have nothing to prove. And how stupid, if he does see it that way, that he has thrown away the last 6 years, half of the time he had left of George’s childhood. In fact not just thrown away, but used it to become less popular, less relevant, less respected. And it’s downhill all the way from here. Not long now until he’s Princess Margaret.

@wordlergood point about H’s caring about he’s perceived. When I think of H whinging about being a spare, I think about the Kents and Gloucesters who were never even spares but gave their lives to royal service. They receive little attention and are quite poor in royal terms but have always stayed loyal. Both dukes had to give up their careers.

Without the culture or charm.

I do think some of the problem is they will never give interviews to those who might question them properly. They speak and expect to be believed.

If I had a bucket list ( which I don't ) but a winsome wish maybe , is that H&M could be interviewed by Jeremy Paxman . They'd never agree to it and sadly he wouldn't do it nowadays. The trouble is I think they are increasingly talking to people who tell they are fabulous.

Ooh brainwave. I vaguely recall seeing a biscuit (American) recipe on the side of a Bisquick mix box. Maybe Duchess is going to pivot her pancake mix to a recipe for traditional moist British English scones. Can help shift some pancake mixes before they expire.

I still think it's only through his interminable court actions that we'll ever see H forced to confront his... shall we say "inconsistencies"? But yes, I would pay good money for a proper interview (and would run a sweepstake on the exact minute and second he would flounce out).

Not a chance they will allow themselves to be interviewed by anyone who may pull them up. H was challenged by (I think) Tom Bradby? about the racist allegations and with a straight face, he blamed the press and delivered some guff about unconscious bias. Nazi uniform. All W&C fault.
