Thoroughly agree with this, too, Fenella

I'm aware that Harry's tried to claim his brother was every bit as "wild" and that he was sacrificed to make the heir look good, but it's not just about when they were teens now and William's managed to keep it on track all these years

And since when was anything Harry says to be relied on anyway ...

It's absolutely nonsensical, isn't it? Harry has such a persecution complex. As if they'd make him look bad! It's demonstrable that since he left the RF, how much worse is, which indicates how much he waa helped and supported and got good press.
The institution helped him. They didn't harm him.

FenellaFeldman · 25/05/2026 12:46

@noonames- you're absolutely right.
Harry could have had an incredible life, with a fraction of the demands and stresses that William has.

Indianrollerbird · 25/05/2026 11:36

Harry is probably the fair weather sort too. Look at his wife and all the people she’s dropped, that’s exactly her MO. I doubt the distancing amongst the friendship group has all been one way. His wife didn’t like them, so he distanced himself from them. And then, as per usual, claim to be the victims of horrible William and Catherine making everyone “choose”.

Have the “Kate blocks royal reconciliation at Balmoral” stories started yet?

'KATE BLOCKS HARRY DAD REUNION FAKE HAIR DRAMA LATEST'

Royal expert Ingrid Seward sensationally claimed today that this could be a summer of sizzling royal reunions, according to royal reporter Tom Sykes who interviewed royal celebrity insider Kinsey Schofield as part of the Mark Dolan Special, debuting on the royal news channel hosted by Rob Shuter.

'Anything could happen!' said Seward from her £4.2 million riverside home. 'But it's entirely possible that Kate's hair could play a big role in making or breaking whatever that is.'

Lady Colin Campbell is 76.

What does fruit forward mean ?
I am nearly 70 and having to learn a whole new language!

I looked it up. It's a term used in wine or coffee 🤷‍♀️

@noonames I do agree with you "Harry simply can’t compete with any of that."
Rightly or wrongly W is going to be the next King. He is the elder. Fact. I find it less than edifying that H chooses to complain so much about W being looked on as more important than him , without reflecting that were he not KC's younger son , realistically where would he be now? What platform would he have, what name recognition? What opportunities would he have been given? But no - why embrace being the younger son , with all the privileges , security , and financial security that brings without some of the pressures of the "top job" ? He talks of the position he has been born into but seems to be lacking on the gratitude front. Where would he be if he had been Harry No-Name from Nowhereshire.? Dare I say not married to M who was according to contemporaneous accounts looking for a rich English husband. Now that's not my main point and hope for their sakes it was the coupe de foudre they maintain. I'm serious , I do hope that. .

Sorry ladies! I was distracted by another thread, I had no idea just how big a disgusting thief and blackmailer paul Burrell was and I’m so beyond words to describe my thoughts!

He has no idea. What's that phrase? He should check his privilege.

Absolutely! Everything , pretty much, he has is because he is the 2nd son. By dint of the rarified family he was born into W is "above" him in many ways. H could have created a very meaningful and comfortable life for himself had he chosen to.

He should check his privilege as you say Fenella , and once checked he should wear it lightly.

But no.

Ooof.
What a super idea. It is a bank holiday after all and I’m VERY thirsty.

Personally I would much prefer to be the second born.
Apartment 1 at KP plus a nice country pad paid for by Pa, access to the big houses at Sandringham & Balmoral for weekends & family (like at Christmas).
A few select causes that interest me.
Security, housekeeper, cook when I want, private school for the kids, fab healthcare .
All the ‘good’ stuff like Trooping the Colour but without the red boxes every day. Doors open all over the world.
A fantastic extended family. Horses. JEWELS. Wonderful clothes.
First class travel.
What is not to like? Play the game with the press and you don’t get harassed.
Dont be a perv. Don’t commit crime. Be nice to those who work for you.
Doesnt sound dreadful does it?

He should look no further than Princess Anne. Bumped down the line of succession from no2, but she's made a very positive and fulfilling role for herself. She was an Olympic equestrian, and continues to work to support the monarchy.
No whining. Not even when somebody tried to kidnap her at gunpoint!

Yes but he and M would have walk behind W and C and Meghan would never get first pick of jewellery
( despite being the face of the RF 🤦‍♀️)

It’s hot here ( 30 degrees) so I’m very easily irritated and picky but …that has just reminded me! , do you remember the poster recently who adamantly insisted that Anne wasn’t the spare ever , was lower than Harry and wasn’t in the LOS ?! 🤣🤣

I think it means it contains a high fruit content compared to other jams that are probably said to be fruit backward due to a low fruit content.

I think the late Queen was very strict with her jewellry collection and it depended on
a) your place in the pecking order
b) how much she liked you.
We saw Catherine last year in the Oriental tiara - a tiara that has previously only graced the heads of Queens.
I like to think of her and Camilla in the jewellry vault ( which is a room) opening boxes and Camilla saying ‘ohh try that on’.
If H&M hadn’t been such horror shows then I expect William would have been relaxed about the wife of his beloved brother wearing items.
Plus, is walking behind so bad when you don’t have to wear the crown and have all of the burden of ‘king’ stuff that comes with it?
They were just so difficult to deal with. The RF never stood a chance. Whatever they did would never have been enough.

Clearly that poster knew as much as Meghan about the RF.
The years of August 1950 to Feb 1960 never existed for that poster with regards to Anne.

IcedPurple · 25/05/2026 14:06

Puzzledandpissedoff · 25/05/2026 10:52

I hope the same, MrsLF, but for those who value this kind of connection there was never going to be any kind of contest around which brother to "pick"

After all William's a future king and Harry ... isn't

Well, there's that.

And the fact that William and Catherine are simply much better people than Harry and Meghan.

noonames · 25/05/2026 14:09

They were just so difficult to deal with. The RF never stood a chance. Whatever they did would never have been enough.

This is why I think that any reconciliation is ultimately doomed to fail. They are impossible to satisfy, short of everyone grovelling to Meghan and thanking her for being the face of the RF and such a talented scone maker, and William finally coming to his senses, admitting that Harry would be the better king and stepping aside for the good of the country 🤪

Oh that was hilarious! It didn't matter how much evidence we had, or diagrams attached, she wouldn't have it!
It became blindingly obvious that she'd really no idea about a Constitutional Monarchy. Like so many.
Remember the one that said KC was omnipotent?!
😂

Then she kept insisting that "Anne could never have been Queen really".
Bizarre.

noonames · 25/05/2026 14:15

I really didn’t get that argument about Anne - iirc they said that only boys can be spares, so when Anne was born, even though she was next in line and could have been queen, there was no spare because another boy might be born. And then ten years later Andrew came along and became the spare because he was next in line after Charles - exactly the position Anne had been in when she wasn’t the spare 🤷‍♀️
