So he was in Arizona but still not invited to his Uncle’s wedding ?!

Oh dear.

As we discovered in hd from as ever, Meghan doesn’t know how to cook! It’s embarrassing! 😳

I honestly don't know why she went for a 'domestic' brand. If she'd got professionals on board to style her and manage her social media accounts (big if I know) she might have made some sort of success of a fashion or cosmetics line, even though it's very competitive. But this twee 2009 vintage lifestyle brand just does not suit her at all. She's so obviously not into cooking, and it shows.

I was taught by my granny and my mum to handle a scone mixture like pastry, you had to have cool hands and draw your mixture together with a palette knife. Kneading for 5 minutes never came into it.

These Days I use the Delia recipe that uses buttermilk to moisten them and I add butter and jam to my scone before ladling on the cream.

I’m constantly amazed there aren’t more people from MM’s past, telling nice stories about “I knew her when…” But there’s next to nothing and I find that very odd.

The same can be said about Doria.

It’s all very strange.

It reminds me of a kid "helping" mummy in the kitchen, jeff, making a complete mess with inappropriate blendings while being cooed at ... "aren't you a clever girl and will she notice it's been chucked away?"

Given the connotations I'm surprised Harry's done something to remind anyone of African Parks though, but then at this stage I guess the important thing is to be "seen doing stuff" in some attempt to look needed

Yes ! , thats exactly it puzzled ! , I’m embarrassed for her frankly! , the blatant rush to put that out only confirms the fact they follow what the wales do obsessively! , she must have been three sheets to the wind to post that.🙄
Harry doing the African parks thing screams of desperation, he hasn’t publicly acknowledged the torture, rape and abuse at all! , the fact the mainstream media are ignoring this is doing him a favour! And this was posted on sm account that apparently is his! 🤷‍♀️

StartupRepair · Today 10:42

Ironically Meghan would not have a single woman in her circle who would allow anything made of flour and sugar to cross her lips.

I’ve been trying to think of excuses for Meghan! I wondered if she was going for American biscuits? , American friends have told me they are similar to scones , however I don’t think they would be very impressed with that recipe either! 🤷‍♀️

Puzzledandpissedoff · Today 10:54

Yes it does, @jeffgoldblum
A few "coincidences" might have been just that, but it's beyond the point of denial now and while I can't imagine what's going through their heads it certainly isn't anything healthy

Agree with this too, @Indianrollerbird, but then considering the mess the "5 friends" got dragged into over Thomas Markle's letter it's possible others are keeping well out of it
After all it's not as if they could expect any loyalty from Meghan ...

RecoIIectionsMayVary · Today 11:03

@Lunde thanks for reminding me about Dutch Crispbreads. I need some iny life

I'm surprised she didn't cook it by holding it over an As Ever candle at this point.. I think this was from @MrsLeonFarrell but I howled at this 😂 😂

Also agree that it looks like a dead fly- I mean not only is the recipe crap, but the photography is awful.

I am tempted to try and make the scones, if I can't find an account of someone else making them I will have a go this week.

Thanks for making me laugh, so many funny replies.

@ShamedBySiri
Prince Harry popped up in Arizona a few days ago to give a speech at an African Parks conference.

Link to Geo News article:

https://archive.ph/5xUWh

"This five-year effort is designed to secure and expand effective management of Africa’s most critical protected areas – strengthening our existing portfolio, expanding into new priority landscapes, and building long-term conservation capacity across the continent,” Harry said during the event.

Sounds like corporate business rather than conservation.

And I think GeoNews has had some editing issues:

King Charles’s younger son serves as the governing Board of Directors for African Parks

Indianrollerbird · Today 11:07

@Puzzledandpissedoff I was thinking more of people who knew her before she was famous rather than her current circle. Someone from one of the many settings she's talked about. Eg, school friends (other than Nicky Priddy), working at Humphrey Yoghart, living and studying in Madrid, working in Argentina. Or from drama classes, uni, some of those other kids shown in the Nikalodeon video about the P&G dish soap campaign. Someone who knew her as a couple with Trevor. There's just a strange silence. You'd think becoming a member of the royal family would have resulted in loads of people coming out and saying, I knew her when she was just a hopeful girl working part time to pay for dance classes, she's lovely, how wonderful she's becoming a royal etc etc. Not one member of Doria's family or anyone outside the immediate feral Markle clan have said anything, not even come out to defend the "most trolled woman on the planet" and say she doesn't deserve the press she gets. I find it very strange.

bluegreygreen · Today 11:09

Please do @RecoIIectionsMayVary!

Agree re lots of witty replies - I do love the quality of posts on these threads from long-term posters (also including the serious thoughtful posts in that).

Welcome to the new posters who were drawn out of lurking by the scone abomination 😊

@jeffgoldblum Apologies, I have just scrolled back and seen you had already posted a link to Prince Harry/Arizona/ African Parks, I completely missed your earlier post 🫠.

I have mentioned this before but I know a journalist. Not best friends or anything , more someone I know slightly as a casual acquaintance and they insist that there is a lot of stuff being sat on but when/ if H and M divorce or they go too far , it will come out .

Human rights violations aside, Africa Parks makes me feel very uncomfortable. There's such a white saviour/environmental colonialism vibe about them, epitomised by that statement of Harry's. I know they say they work with each country's government, but I wonder how much oversight from local officials actually goes on. I'd be interested to know why Chad threw them out.

Puzzledandpissedoff · Today 11:17

I was thinking more of people who knew her before she was famous rather than her current circle

So was I, @Indianrollerbird, but the purpose of mentioning the more high profile friends was that, if even they got burned, more "ordinary" acquaintances would perhaps be more likely to keep away

I completely agree the complete absence of anyone is odd, but when you add on the disloyalty towards even once-close friends who fail to toe the line, you end up with a picture of her just not being worth it

Edited to add I agree with your comments about African Parks too, and this is why I'm surprised Harry appeared at something which would bring it back into focus. As said, though, I suppose any appearance of "relevance" is better than none, and it's not as if he has many other opportunities

Yes, I always think this sort of thing sounds so colonial.

I agree @Indianrollerbird
African Parks and that statement from Harry leaves a bad taste.

It was correct of Geo to remind readers that there have been human rights violations associated with African Parks - something Harry likes to try and keep brushed under the carpet.

What's the explanation for no one on Dorias side of the family being invited to their wedding?

Puzzledandpissedoff · Today 11:26

FenellaFeldman · Today 11:20

Yes, I always think this sort of thing sounds so colonial.

Not unlike the Commonwealth being referred to as "Empire 2" perhaps?

FWIW I'm almost wih him on that since I've always thought the Queen fancied a toybox to play with in lieu of the empire they lost, but then unlike H&M I wouldn't have accepted senior roles within it and then chosen to be spiteful when things didn't go my way

Edited to add there was also a lot of criticism of W&K for their "colonial" appearances in Jamaica, but how odd that the same people failed to mention similar ones from their idols:

Yes, I do look regularly for any update on the investigation of the abuses, but haven't seen any.

As I also mention regularly, this is the one charity where Harry is actually a director (rather than patron), so could be held accountable. I hope he realises that.

That's interesting. I know someone who has seen some evidence about her and said she's a terrible person, but wouldn't say in what way (I know the context of how they saw it, but can't say that here). This was quite a few years ago. As I said upthread, if she did write an autobiography, I think that could potentially be the trigger for other people to counter "her truth" with their own experiences.

Doubtful. He's all about the power, not the responsibility.

I don't think there's ever been one, StrawberryWasp, and TBF nobody owes others a reason why they didn't invite certain people to their wedding

There's no denying it looked extremely odd and was bound to be commented on though, so that leaves some of us to think there was too much risk of those who actually knew her disclosing something she preferred to keep hidden

No she doesn't have to explain and complex families are not unusual, but inviting no one is very very weird.

And the rationale that the RF told her not to invite her neice is such nonsense.
