So do you think she is deliberately poking fun at the RF?

Not so much at the RF (although maybe a bit at Catherine), but the whole media-SM-MIGS machine of comparing her to Kate incessantly. She wants to be top dog, at all times, in all arenas. That's certainly how she sees herself. I think she's sick of being compared to Kate all the time and coming out the loser all the time. It's Fergie and Diana all over again, but without the sense of humour (weird to think all that was going on in the background at the time).

Oh - just found this re Geneva

https://archive.ph/1R5Pq

Okay - she can’t help herself - that shot of her walking from the car looking straight into the camera lense!

Meghan, why can’t you resist?

canklesmctacotits · 17/05/2026 20:52

I was just looking at that shot. Yesterday she was laughing at the lilac coat dress. Today she's strutting assertively and aggressively in a black Armani pant suit with severe hair and makeup, nowhere to hide look on her face. She wants people to think that THIS is her, not some pastel, wafting, soft, little-miss-perfect Catherine type woman. She's all business, Meghan, the breadwinner AND the mother AND the wife AND the philanthropist, unlike Kate who just turns up and does as she's told. Just like Harry said Kate is.

HoldMyWine · 17/05/2026 20:57

Yes it seems like she was having a dig at Kate.

Not2identifying · 17/05/2026 21:02

I think fruit spread is more Meghan's wheelhouse than grieving parents who deserve a better supporter than someone who uses her kids online to sell said fruit spread.

How does she get these gigs ???

Very good question. How do the irrelevant losers with nobody serous behind them get gigs at the WHO?

SammyScrounge · 17/05/2026 21:26

Rhaidimiddim · 13/05/2026 12:30

It is one weird photo. She has the kind of exaggerated face and accompanying hand gesture that I use when I'm playing with the dog. "Where's it GONE, Fido?" or "Shall we go WALKIES?"

But she's looking at the camera, not the child.

😆ǰ😄😄😆

BasiliskStare · 17/05/2026 21:41

I'm with @Wordler here "It’s a weird form of self sabotage." and "Meghan, why can’t you resist?"

I am sure that wardrobe photo was a spoof of the Princess diaries - "Look - look I have a daughter who's a Princess." Whether the pop at C with the pastel outfit was a happy byproduct or intended or not I don't know. BUT why put the jacket you're going to wear at a very sombre event label outwards . That seems cynical given her OneOff tie up.

She could do some good but somehow , I won't go as far as to say snatch defeat from the jaws of victory , but seems to deflect from what are good causes she's interested in. I'd also say ( Tom Bower , Vanity Fair etc ) she has been accused of thinking philanthropy as what A listers do over a number of years. I think unless she reigns her self in good things she tries to do will be overshadowed by critical observations. And it would be so easy - stop using your children to promote yourself and cut out the commercial ventures when you are doing anything to do with charity / good causes.

ETA re the gigs - I suspect she asks for invites to them. Don't know abut this one , but I suspect H&M let it be known they would like to turn up to various things. And it draws attention, whether that is the right sort or not.

Lazingsundayafternoon · 17/05/2026 22:03

Actually the jam making may be a parody too..

bluegreygreen · 17/05/2026 22:04

wordler · 17/05/2026 20:04

I suspect Adelaide Cottage was chosen because they wanted to see how it felt being based in Windsor rather than London before going through all the hoohar that can come with taking one of the bigger homes that’s not already properly within the security cordon etc.

We’ve seen how much negative publicity they’ve had from locals with the changes made to Forrest Lodge grounds - imagine if they’d done all that and then hated living there.

So they went for the best available option that didn’t need renovations or changes.

I think they also assumed they had a year or two more of the late Queen - meaning they’d have had a couple more years of a lower profile so no needing as many staff etc.

If I recall correctly Forrest Lodge also had tenants until recently.

Noseyoldcow · 17/05/2026 23:29

Social media has a lot to answer for with the damage it does to vulnerable people, and in particular vulnerable children. FIghting that damage is for sure a worthy cause. Not sure how that squares with promoting yourself on Instagram, complete with references to your kids and photos of them, if even from behind. What, cynic, me?

BigWillyLittleTodger · 18/05/2026 00:15

The comments are brutal, no one is buying her act, she just isn’t genuine and people can see straight through her, the alleged humility training hasn’t worked.

ShamedBySiri · 18/05/2026 02:06

Now I haven’t listened to the ten minutes to check and I’m not going to. But apparently the speech has been largely plagiarised from another speech!

TBF I think it is probably just a small section of that post that perhaps provided inspiration. I did listen to this small part of the speech.

Or there may be a different speech that was the inspiration.

I don’t get the venue - presumably there was a small crowd in front of her listening. But during the short clip posted normal life is going on behind her. There appears to be a traffic light with people waiting to cross, engrossed in their phones, before disappearing from view.

Looking and acting more like Pinocchio every day.

Found a side on view. It looks like a (very) small crowd present. That Armani suit was worth every penny - it looks sharp and smart. Trousers a good length and not overlong.

It’s an ‘island (for want of a better description) with roads on all sides, with a sculpture of a broken chair, it’s a public open space, directly in front of the entrance to the Palais des Nations. looks like there was only a handful of attendees, perhaps some of the families ?

They usually close it off for high profile or high security events, It looked to be business as usual with cars driving by and people wandering around, so they obviously didn’t restrict access, now that would not happen if Charles or William were attending an event there.

Incredible that she managed to squeeze so much PR out of it, it was really a non event.

I don’t know, it’s hard to go wrong with an all black suit. I agree it fits. You don’t need to pay Armani prices (not that she will have) to get a decent black suit.

I’m interested in the allegations of plagiarism (again).
