The ongoing dramas from Montecito courtesy of H&M.

I can’t see another thread but I made the same mistake last time …

I guess the asever shop hosting service has just updated and @AtIusvue is right on it being a generic page.

And no-one at asever looked at it or noticed because either there is no-one or their laser focus is focused elsewhere.

NormalAuntFanny · 11/05/2026 18:43

And boom it's gone!

AtIusvue · 11/05/2026 18:47

I think you’re correct @NormalAuntFanny

MyAutumnCrow · 11/05/2026 19:38

I see the astrology's going well for her.

My god but she has some tenacity

I used to think that too, always credited her with grifting away until she got what she was aiming for. But now it’s looking a lot like desperation - doing stuff out of necessity rather than drive. And, it’s looking a little too much like she’s doing whatever her friends in Montecito are doing: candles, books, T-shirts, fauxlanthropy, moaning about rich-people-problems, thinking in terms of generational wealth but without actually having it (by her neighbours’ standards at least). It’s yet more cosplay, this time of a rich, established American-style “aristocrat”. It’s why nothing is authentic. She isn’t secure in who she is, the best she can do is try to emulate people around her but her personality gets in the way so everything ends up looking like Temu versions of the real thing. Temu actress, Temu duchess, Temu podcaster, Temu online seller, Temu Martha Stewart, Temu fauxlanthropist. It’s kinda tragic really. Just all very second or third rate.

wordler · 11/05/2026 20:14

I think the three issues standing in her way are she’s not a strategic thinker, she’s recklessly impulsive and she doesn’t have a lot of empathy so she doesn’t notice how some of the things she says and does are landing with other people.

If she’d been less impulsive and more strategic about Megxit it could have had a much better outcome.

Starryfifty · 11/05/2026 20:26

She has to be incredibly thick skinned. The flak and ridicule she gets is astonishing. My mental health would be on the floor (in fact, I think I'd be committed). I dislike her hugely and think she's a two bit grifter but I'm baffled how it all seems to water off a duck's back with her

noonames · 11/05/2026 20:58

Gosh if Meghan had played her cards right, just over the last couple of weeks there could have been photos of her at any / all of: the Met Gala, the state dinner and garden party for KC3, David Attenborough’s 100th birthday celebration, Poppy Delevingne’s 40th party, the first BP garden party of the year, the Baftas, The Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere and this King’s Trust event. With Wimbledon and Peter Phillips’s wedding around the corner. Instead she’s in the news for fucking up her website and saying she won’t come to the UK unless everyone promises not to boo 🤦‍♀️

Yep - so on that basis her T-shirt slogans should read “Squandered” - that’s basically her core brand essence - the only thing authentic about her is that everything she touches turns to shit.

I think you are right. A properly thought out "megxit" could have been so much better for the pair of them.
The money that originally came pouring in , I think she just thought would become a way of life , without thinking people were paying for , essentially, gossip. Leaving the WRF could have played out so differently if she and H hadn't comprehensively trashed (oft made up) the RF for immediate financial wins.

I don't think Meghan ever expected them to be entirely dependent on their own money, hence Harry's complaints about having been cut off. Their Q&A on the Megxit website said that they would give up the Sovereign Grant but was silent on everything else. They also seem to have had commercialisation plans for Sussex Royal that were quashed. They never expected to pay for security either.

She reminds me of my late husband who didn't give a monkeys what anyone thought of him. You could call him every name under the sun and it was like water off a duck's back. Don't know if its relevant but I'm sure he had adhd.

bluegreygreen · 11/05/2026 21:24

Complaints that were untrue at the time he made them, of course, as the Duchy of Cornwall accounts showed that Charles continued to support them for at least a further year.

Yes, I think they were doing the teenage 'Get out of my life but first take me to town' thing, just in a more unpleasant and vindictive way, and didn't expect that people would correspondingly treat them as adults.
I'm quite sure that Harry will have been told (both prior to the Sandringham summit and at it) exactly what he was giving up.

I'm also sure that his lawyers would have told him that he could lose against the Home Office, but he said they didn't ...

I agree. Her total lack of insight, empathy or self reflection is breathtaking. Someone I know is like this. Just utterly self absorbed and lacking in any empathy. I don’t think it is that Meghan is necessarily ND , she has some sort of personality disorder though. Both the person I know and Meghan seem to live in a sort of self created fantasy world where they believe what makes them feel good rather than look at the actual facts. It’s a sort of splitting of the personality I think that often happens with people who have been neglected and left to rely on their own resources.

The SG was only 5% of their income , the rest provided by The Duchy . Clearly H thought that Pa would continue to support him plus he said that he never thought his security would be removed .
They really didn’t think it through .

I think ADHD tends to make people much more sensitive, not less. But she definitely has 'something'. Possibly stemming at least in part from a childhood where she was much poorer than her peers. Maybe they weren't slow to remind her of it. She certainly seems terribly insecure, and extremely unhappy. I believe no matter how much she accumulates, it will never be enough. If she weren't so obnoxious, it would be easy to feel for her.

I'm convinced now, nothing was going to work for them outside the RF. He's exceptionally stupid. Not just throwing around that comment. He's seriously dumb, incapable and rudderless.

She isn't much better. She hasn't achieved very much at all. Suits was her only role and let's face it, very little required. If she had never have met H. She'd have disappeared into the ether (or only fans)

Her childhood was quite middle class though. Didn't T Markle send her to private school?

He won the lottery and I think at that point sent her to to a private school. Her home life wasn’t middle class though and so she probably felt quite different to her peers. Both he and Doris went bankrupt at different times.

A bit more sidebar re Invictus-aligned politics from the BBC just now.

  • Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is among cabinet ministers calling for Starmer to set out a timetable for his resignation
  • It's understood there are splits in the cabinet over calls for Starmer's departure and Mahmood is in the minority
Shababa Mahmood is manoeuvring to attempt to keep her job under Burnham/Streeting/Rayner (she won’t); and/or she’s toast now anyway.

It's exactly the opposite. She claps back at every single little thing. Not being able to do so was one of the main reasons for Mexit. Remember the poor staff bent over the desks in tears because she wanted them to hit back at every silly tabloid story? I've never known of any public figure so obsessed with what random strangers say about them.

You see I would say she is really thin skinned.

Celebrities usually have a lot of critics - but her need to constantly clap back and attempt to have the last word of everything just makes her seem like a teenager on tik tok.
