PR disasters of Meghan and Harry.

Left off at the last page with Meg selling candles to people who want to know what her young children smell like. She’s also using the kids full titles in the press release….just for a dash of extra exploitation.

As you were

Sorry, not really relevant - just followed a train of thought.

Back to Harry an his roaming hand.

Why, why did he do it?

Is he sexually attracted to men? Was he high on drugs? Too much micro dosing on 🍄? What would posses him? They are at Bondi beach, presumably to show support and respect to the community and especially the life guards and Harry just slapped this man's behind? I don't recall any other such footage of him inappropriately touching members of the public. Surely ether must be some consequences? What will MM be thinking of her price prince? It's all too mind boggling. A true PR disaster.

Will Harry and his kids get to see Charles in the US?

Will Harry and his kids get to see Charles in the US?

I very much doubt it.

Charles is a Head of State on an official visit where every moment is accounted for, and all movements would have to be arranged in advance for security reasons.

Also, so far as I know Charles is only visiting Washington DC and NY, both of which are nearly as far from LA as they are from London.

By contrast, Harry is basically unemployed and could bring his children to Britain any time. Recent weeks have confirmed that he thinks absolutely nothing of flying long distance. He could easily arrange with Charles for him and the children to visit, and the public would not need to know a thing. That's if Meghan would allow it, and therein, I think, lies the problem.

But what would be the point of a secret visit ? H and M need to have Royal adjacency and need to remind the world that A and L are The King’s DGC !

TrumpetYayTrumpBoo · Yesterday 17:19

Good thing C's visit doesn't overlap with A's birthday then.

Also, aren't Serena and Meg "best friends " ?? Serena doesn't like chocolate (she could at least pretended to in her post but appears she couldn't be arsed) yet Meghan sends her chocolate??

'I seem to have known her for 100 years' 😂

How odd. That's exactly how it came across. Quite cutting !

No Oprah unboxing?? Clooneys also. Zero traction there

Baital · Yesterday 17:29

It's interesting how the still photos released imply a crowd that simply didn't exist

Puzzledandpissedoff · Yesterday 19:07

Just to say many thanks for your thoughtful post about Charles, @bluegreygreen. I know it's a bit off topic, but maybe not so much given the thread's about PR disasters

As usual it comes down to the four offenders we know about, but while I can't comment on the timescales with Laurens van der Post, the others were certainly known about for decades, even if the details were hidden from the general public - and Charles has much better access to information than the rest of us

In partcular i can't imagine what kind of family would allow a creature like Mountbatten influence over their young son, and if you've followed up on the info in the IICSA you'll have seen that Charles certainly tried to interfere over Peter Ball

I'm popping in and out during a very busy week so can't write more now, but doubtless this will come up again and I look forward to sharing thought with you then

And that’s why they are locked in an impasse - all parties have different agendas - PH and MMs are not even the same - and the RF source said recently that bitterness and trust are holding everyone back.

PH will never reconcile without a public fanfare unfortunately. Therefore, it won't happen

I wonder if Meghan ever stops to wonder WHY she was apparently the most trolled person in the world. All those thousands, or hundreds of thousands, or perhaps even millions of trolls, getting poor misunderstood Meghan wrong.

Honesty, their antics mostly make me smile but, since I’m currently dealing with 1 suicidal dc, 1 very hard working (with Afghan refugees) dc who can barely afford his modest lifestyle, and one dc who was present (but unhurt) during the Bondi massacre, I feel more angry tonight than I remember feeling in a very long time. They are despicable.

StartupRepair · Yesterday 21:36

@Ferryl sorry you have so much hard stuff on your plate. Puts H and M's self pity in perspective.

HoldMyWine · Yesterday 21:40

Yes @Ferryl, so sorry that you’re going through all of that. H&M really both need to take a long hard look at themselves.

garlicandsapphires · Yesterday 21:45

I wonder if they lie awake at night and wonder why it all went wrong. There certainly seems a total lack of self reflection and responsibility. OTOH they are trolled mercilessly (and sometimes quite horribly, to the extent that I find myself standing up for them at times!!) but they hand themselves to the trolls on a silver platter!!

Ferryl · Yesterday 21:46

Thank you. When I started writing my post I didn’t know I was going to end it that way!

I’m sure that most of us have stresses and worries that we have to deal with. To see 2 such entitled, ignorant and downright unlikable people moaning about their very privileged lot is infuriating.

bluegreygreen · Yesterday 21:58

Thanks for replying @Puzzledandpissedoff.

It's not something I had really thought about before some of the discussions on this board, which is why I looked up the details.
I think sometimes we are wise in hindsight, and don't appreciate we have more information than people had at the time. I do accept that Charles is in a position where he may have more information than others.

I haven't looked at the IICSA yet, but hopefully will get there over the next few days.

Indianrollerbird · Yesterday 21:59

I don't think the personality disordered (which I suspect these two are) lie awake at night is a state of self reflective wonderment. They lie awake plotting their next power move and/or act of revenge.

They are mis-using the word "trolling". What they receive is fair criticism. They are public figures who use their status and platform to lecture and medal in politics and public policy. They try to sell white label goods as luxury products and a lifestyle that is literally fake (filming a lifestyle show in a house they don't live in). They have told lie after demonstrable lie about their experiences in the royal family. They are massive hypocrites over privacy and social media use. They take zero responsibility for their many failures and the distaste people feel for their conduct these 6+ years. Calling all of that out, and rejecting their curious mixture of self aggrandisement and victimhood, is not trolling.

Edit to add: I am also annoyed at Tom Bower for his application of the word "troll" for their online critics.

I've been reading Graydon Carter's memoirs. As well as saying Meghan is detached from reality after her complaining the VF article didn't focus on her philanthropy when GC said he'd never heard of her & she was only there because of Harry, and his Urdine Spragg comment , there is also this from the Telegraph in '23 after the New York car chase

‘Harry and Meghan are just fascinating concepts,’ he says. ‘They’ve done something they’ll live to regret, which is their children have no relatives. They have no cousins that they see, or uncles or aunts, and they don’t see grandparents, except for one. That will come back to haunt them at a certain point. Montecito is gorgeous but it’s God’s waiting room: there is nothing, nothing, nothing to do. It’s a 40-minute drive from LA. There can’t be many kids there because young families can’t afford it. It’s a lonely, beautiful place.
‘I’ve lived in New York for 50 years and you can’t go faster than three miles an hour,’ he adds. ‘When I first read about it I thought, “That doesn’t look right.” They have too much attention. For people like that, unavailability is your greatest asset. If you’re out there too much, the public has a chance to get sick of you. I think they’ve made every wrong move you can make.’

Hard agree.

I've worked with children that have lost parent/s , that after the loss have lost their homes/siblings/school/friends. I've experienced people trying to access support for mental health, in a completely broken system.

This is not denying the effect of losing a parent or mental health, but to paint yourself as the most affected people in the world is, frankly, horrific.

My favourite Graydon Carter quote describing Meghan Markle:

  • “slightly adrift on the facts and reality.”
BasiliskStare · Yesterday 23:05

I agree with you @Ferryl. She wrote that horoscope post having come back from Australia , having visited that hospital and Bondi beach. Most emotionally normal people can understand there are people a lot worse off than them. These two have been given so much purely because H is KC's younger son. Not their talents , hard work , creativity , attributes , it is because he is Charles' son and she is married to him. What's worse is they have seen so much worse themselves eg Africa "no-one asks how I am ". They have sought out people in dire circumstances - disaster tourism , Uvalde , the LA fires etc etc etc. Meghan's had about the best 8 years of her life I reckon because she closed the deal on a Prince , and "people don't understand her" . There is no violin tiny enough.

Just because you think you look fabulous in your Emperor's New Clothes ( details & prices can be found in One Off) doesn't mean to say the little boy in the crowd isn't right. I think they're moving on from merely risible towards repugnant. I really think they have no idea how petulant , self pitying and lacking in self awareness they come across as, it's everyone else who can't see their worth.

corblimeygvnr · Today 00:11

Well summarised @BasiliskStare

LaurenBacal · Today 05:20

The thing is unless you follow their doings and utterances, most people have no clue what they are up to. The vast majority of the public don’t care and think they are harmless, or genuinely believe they’ve been hard done by. Thats how they get away with their awful behaviour.
