PR disasters of Meghan and Harry.

Left off at the last page with Meg selling candles to people who want to know what her young children smell like. She’s also using the kids full titles in the press release….just for a dash of extra exploitation.

As you were

When everyone else is the problem, maybe the problem is you.

ShamedBySiri · Yesterday 12:59

Meh. If it’s true Meghan only wants it because Louis and wanting to establish her little Prince’s right royalness plus she’s probably got a deal with Hello or the USA equivalent to sell the photos. Does Harry have any say in these matters if the Duchess has decided?

I was trying to work out why Serena even did the video?

whattheflipz · Yesterday 13:04

There is no way anyone in Britain will let them back. No one.

Rincoe · Yesterday 13:10

I think their only option now is to return to the RF. Everything else is a busted flush. KC would probably welcome it but can't see William would be on board.

I think the person holding all the cards and plotting the next chapter strategically is solely MM.

PH is too dim to think his way out of this and has the comfort of knowing there’s always a bail out / roof over his head from Pa. He is also still whipped up in to the emotional state that MM needs him in.

I think KC3 would - as any parent at his age and fragile health status - want a private reconciliation and private relationship with his son and grandchildren - but he won’t risk putting the already on the brink RF reputation on the line for this.

MM however might well be up for pimping out her husband and children for royal duties / presence at selected BRF events to enhance her commercial aims but doubt she would participate herself or that the BRF would provide PH with these photo-opps as he has proven to be serially unreliable, incompetent, bitter and untrustworthy.

I think the BRF will let them continue to flounder and whatever happens next will be self serving and building towards MM’s exit strategy from the marriage but PH won’t have a clue.

Interestingly the Wales post for Louis' birthday didn't add Prince to his name. They seem to be able to read the room in a way Meghan and Harry can't.

I don't think Charles will let them back as working royals. Everytime Harry leaks "private" conversations these days the palace makes their displeasure known. The palace also emphasised that Charles chorley see Harry whilst Harry was suing the government over security. Neither of those were affected by William at all.

Whilst I do believe Charles wants a relationship with Harry as his father, I see no evidence that the King sees a place for the Sussexes in the institution of monarchy.

I think she wants to follow up on the ‘look how royal we are’ trip to Australia with more typically royal behaviour. Plus the Louis photos and video were particularly charming this year, which has probably infuriated her.

If the Sussex kids are ever going to be considered equal to their cousins in terms of royalness and status, that needs to be established now. It won’t be long before the Waleses start doing more public appearances, taking on patronages etc and then the Sussexes will be left far behind, it will be too late. The Waleses, or certainly George anyway, will have a starring role at William’s coronation in the next few years and the Sussexes probably won’t even be invited. So anything Meghan can do to counteract that and make those royal connections, she will. I think she will only become more desperate as the Waleses’ public profiles grow. (Even though it would be so deeply weird for a celebrity couple to release an official photo for a child’s 7th birthday.) Poor Archie and Lili 😔

They don’t need to - it’s about being dignified, modest, discreet along the lines of ‘money talks, wealth whispers’.

KC would be pleased to see him no doubt, but there's no way on God's green earth that he'll have any part in the RF.

The last thing the Royal family need right now is a forty something man child playing teenage pranks and being scorched for crossing a line. Isn’t AMW enough? They really don’t need the next generation Yorkfest two.
Even in the unlikely event of forgiveness being the flavour of the day, H&M are just not up to the job and even if not being actively mischievous they are likely to offend just by being them.

noonames · Yesterday 13:27

The longer it goes on, the more I think the RF are probably thanking their lucky stars that H+M left when they did. Yes, it has been a very unpleasant few years, but so much harder to try and manage those massive yet fragile egos had they stayed. As it is, H+M are now a failure and a laughing stock, their popularity ratings have tanked, and they’ve done that all by themselves. Thanks to all the spite and the hypocrisy and the lies, there’s a fair bit of sympathy for the rest of them, who now look dignified and reliable in comparison. Result.

bluegreygreen · Yesterday 13:36

Yes, @noonames, I've been thinking along those lines recently.

Treylime · Yesterday 14:15

@noonames I agree. I think we sometimes forget that the immature behaviour H displays in public is a tiny tiny fraction of what he is like behind closed doors. The RF (W in particular) know exactly what he is like and he could never have booted him themselves so M coming along and them flouncing off has in the long term been a good thing for the rest of them.

I agree that they are relieved that they both flounced off but despite his boorish teen/twenties he seemed to be behaving himself and it looked to like he had a very solid, warm and respectful relationship with both William and Kate before MM came on the scene.

Starryfifty · Yesterday 14:26

Agree with noonames. I do think Willie will have to home his brother after the divorce, which let's be honest, is inevitable. A recluse in Frogmore cottage

Ohpleeeease · Yesterday 14:27

LaMarschallin · Yesterday 07:44

I find Harry's response to the man after he smacked his bottom interesting.
First, when the man turns around, Harry gives a thumbs up sign, then he makes a fist. It made me wonder if the man had said anything like "You're lucky I didn't thump you" or something similar and Harry "jokingly" waves a fist in response.
Pure speculation of course, but it seemed an odd gesture for Harry to make.

On a completely different track, Harry's tonsure is looking really ridiculous now with that tiny strap of hair across his forehead and his completely bald pate.
I presume that the strip looks thicker when he looks straight into a mirror but he must see photos of himself and realise he's bald. If he were my husband (God forbid - tbf he'd probably feel the same) I'd definitely advise him to go for a crop.
Silly tufts like his and comb-overs are both awful looks, imo.
More fool him for mocking his brother's baldness - he's left himself very open to this sort of criticism as it's obvious thinning/absent hair worries him a lot.
Far better to carry it off with insouciance.

In our family we call that Ted Danson Syndrome. Dear Ted had such luxuriant locks in “Cheers” but as the years went on the front and back definitely did not match. It was clear he had the best view and may not have been aware of what was going on behind.

Back to Harry an his roaming hand.

Why, why did he do it?

Is he sexually attracted to men? Was he high on drugs? Too much micro dosing on 🍄? What would posses him? They are at Bondi beach, presumably to show support and respect to the community and especially the life guards and Harry just slapped this man's behind? I don't recall any other such footage of him inappropriately touching members of the public. Surely ether must be some consequences? What will MM be thinking of her price prince? It's all too mind boggling. A true PR disaster.

Will Harry and his kids get to see Charles in the US?

bluegreygreen · Yesterday 14:40

Re Bondi beach

I didn't really follow closely - did they have a section of the visit where they were commemorating the Jews killed and injured in the atrocity, and then a section where the lifeboat was being launched?
Or was it just one event where everything was happening at once?

Given that this incident hasn't really been reported on (to the extent that I actually thought it might be AI - I'm assuming this isn't the case?), it's not really a PR disaster.

But it should be

I was trying to work out why Serena even did the video?

It has puzzled me why.Serena is still in M's orbit. They seemed close at the start, but time and again Serena has seemed tp.pull away, only to get dragged back in. Saying she doesn't know her that well, then telling the world how close they are. She endured the Pat Tilman award debacle, but she still turned up for the Sentebale polo match.

It is as if she's being forced to do this stuff, against her instincts and invetests.

HoldMyWine · Yesterday 14:51

Do they share the same agents? Maybe a contractual thing?

They did for awhile. But even so, I can't see an agency being able to insist someone of the calibre of Serena must show up.to support another vlient, if she didn'tvwantbto for some reason.

The As Ever unboxing was a phone-in. I wonder whether it will be followed by another BFF declaration from Serena, or whether the pair's treatment of Sophie C will cool the love forever.

bluegreygreen · Yesterday 15:55

I wondered if Meghan had contacted Serena and complained that she hadn't done an unboxing video like other people had.

She mumbles something like 'I messed them up' when she's showing the battered box of chocolates, and says that she doesn't like chocolates 'but these are nice', so she obviously hadn't intended to do one.

I always think of SW as a woman of integrity and she stood by and spoke up for MM - but MM embroiled her in the Sentabale mess and I would assume SW would not have liked the attempted coercion of Sophie by H&M and then the nasty revenge treatment last year - and it’s still not going away with the court case. Maybe she has taken a moment to consider the behaviour of the person she called a friend.

bluegreygreen · Yesterday 16:22

Serena Williams can be a bit unreasonable - she made a fuss a few months ago about a hotel using cotton plants as decoration.
