None of the current lot. Not a single one.

I'd go for Queen Charlotte, wife of George and Queen of Bridgerton for the glamour and gossip.

Most of the others seem too intellectual and serious for me.

I'm not sure that Queen Charlottecwas ever notable for glamour! She was a minor German princess, married to a stranger at 16 and then condemned to years of popping out babies (15 in total), and managing her "mad" husband. Must have been a miserable life.
You do know that "Bridgerton" is fiction, don't you?

Wallis Simpson
Meghan Markle
Queen Elizabeth 2

Elizabeth knew them both. I’d like to know her real opinion of the two American women and their opinions of her.

Or

Prince Charles
Queen Elizabeth 2
Prince William

I’d ask what did they know about Andrew and when did they know it?

Yes, but this entire conversation is fantasy so I'm basing my choices on glamorous tv shows.

Anne Boleyn
Mary Queen of Scots
Elizabeth I

can I join?
I love the fact that it would actually be the first time that Mary and Elizabeth actually met. People forget they never did in real life.

Recklessismymiddlename · 21/04/2026 10:06

I often wonder if Elizabeth would still have had mary executed had she met Mary.

Yes. Too much plotting.

CurlewKate · 21/04/2026 11:38

Am I allowed to poison them?

Absolutely. They are undoubtedly my three favourite royals, and the links between them are remarkable. It would have been so interesting for Anne to see her daughter become queen in her own right, and for Elizabeth and Mary to meet without all those poisonous men whispering in their ears. Three fascinating women!

I wonder that too. Mary’s execution set a precedent that Elizabeth certainly did not want to set: the notion that a Queen can be executed. I think so much of their relationship was mediated by misogynistic men that it is impossible to really conclude what the outcome could have been if they had been able to actually speak directly to each other.

RhannionKPSS · 21/04/2026 18:32

Elizabeth 1
Mary , Queen of Scots
Queen Anne

RhannionKPSS · 21/04/2026 18:33

I’m adding Eleanor of Aquitaine just because…😊

AgnesMcDoo · 21/04/2026 18:37

Mary Queen of Scots
Elizabeth I
Victoria

CurlewKate · 21/04/2026 19:22

Cecily Neville?

I'm not sure where I would find enough Swans, peacocks and larks tongues to feed a royal table

Yes and I think some of their table manners would leave something to be desired.

Many mumsnetters would probably have an attack of the vapours at their hygiene practices as well. Lack of thrice daily showers, laundry and teeth cleaning.

Cecily Neville?

Would ask her if Edward IV was legitimate! So many rumours surround his conception…

edit forgot to add she’s a granddaughter of John of gaunt and Katherine Swynford.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 21/04/2026 20:22

Katherine Parr
Frederik X (hot and nice)
James i/vi witch hunter

Great choice. 😁

I'm thinking Anne Boleyn, Prince Albert and Richard III.

Who? Mary Queen of Scots and Elizabeth?
A bit late...

Yes, that's a good one

I think it had just gone too far, a plot too many. It was a high risk having MQS alive and the centre of Papist hopes.

Well there's one who's self-admittedly partial to mushrooms.

Beef Wellington à la Oz, anyone?

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 21/04/2026 21:13

Princess Margaret
Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother
Queen Mary

I love Queen Mary! Quite formidable. Plus - the jewels!

Isn't she the one who'd fix hosts with a steely glare while declaring she 'liked' an expensive trinket and expecting it delivered as a 'gift' forthwith?

Royal ur-grifter.
