PR Disasters of the The Duke and Duchess of Sussex continued :

  • So far we have Meg using charity events/sick children/vulnerable adults to merch her fashion, with the launch of her new fashion platform
  • She will be appearing on MasterChef Australia
  • Harry claiming to have had therapy when Archie was born, even though he never sought MH help for his ill wife a few short months earlier.

That's what I immediately thought when I read that post. I'm guessing they are a pair she has owned for years and that was the last sale price on them, or maybe posted used on ebay or similar? Its not like AI would understand that, it just scoured websites and put them up for sale?

Does Meghan’s website sell second hand? Surely they would have to advertise them as such, and even if they were selling them as used, how many pairs of the same used shoes had they acquired to actually sell in bulk? The shoes have sold out, so must be more than one pair available……. As for being the last sale price, even in a sale Dior shoes don’t go for £89. I don’t think AI sets the price of the articles and puts the articles up for sale, it’s humans running the business.

I wonder about Harry saying he hated it though. I'm the years he was doing engagements with the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge he assisted to having a lovely time. I'm not sure he is that good of an actor to be faking it.

I think Harry is furious because, as someone who never acknowledges anyone else's input, he thought he clothes carry on doing what he did with acclaim and adoration. In reality he is lost without the men in grey suits he despises so much organising everything and curating his image.

Harry has openly said that truth is what he feels about events and I think he is projecting his current anger onto his past.

I agree he’s projecting current anger onto the past. Deep down he is miserable.

I think this is such a mistake on their part. It undercuts their expressed desire to live lives of service by turning those they visit into commercial props. I wonder how many will be willing to host them for a visit after this. I also wonder how this is playing in the Australian press.

Thanks for ignoring my typos!

Harry must know deep down that selling clothes you wear to visit the sick is a terrible idea. No wonder he looks awkward.

They seem to just keep doing whatever it is they fancy doing, with no consequences. If
there is any negative press, it’s ‘trolling’.

Isn't that her Wimbledon outfit? Why sell things you've had for years?

BigWillyLittleTodger · 17/04/2026 07:21

My god she is honestly absolutely disgusting, now using survivors of a terrorist attack so sell her clothes, to the outsider this is the British Royals on a royal overseas tour, surely to god this can't continue.

I think the consequences are diminishing opportunisties. We have seen that with podcasts and Netflix, they couldn't deliver and so were dropped. In the same way I suspect commercialising this visit will backfire long term. They don't need to realise their mistake to have people quietly quit them.

I would like to know how the Australian press are reacting to this. Also if any other celebrities merch in the same way.

Oh! This is fascinating! How come no one has seen the connection before? Must watch it! Thanks for the heads up.

Oh great I am looking for something to watch this weekend, how interesting and if you’re right how hilarious. I thought there had already been a series called Beef with Ali Wong so was getting a bit confused.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 17/04/2026 07:24

They have publicly been called out as “disaster tourists” before, clearly they didn’t care and have now gone on to blatantly make money while performing yet more disaster tourism.

She’s worn that shirt or similar many times. She’s trying to make that ‘look’ happen.

Omg that is so disrespectful.

HarrietBeat · 17/04/2026 07:30

Well, they've drawn a crowd at Bondi. And lots of police protection.

sickofsixseven · 17/04/2026 07:31

AtIusvue · 17/04/2026 07:08

Why do disaster tourism for free?

Just think of the outfits she could have merched from the LA Fires or the Ulvade shooting!

Wasn't it on their first Australian tour that she allegedly said I can't believe I'm not being paid for this? In typical meghan style she just couldn't let it and had to go back and get "the last laugh" as she probably sees it by merching literally everything. Its obvious she is a pathological grudge holder and uses any opportunity to get a dig in at the rf. Honestly her psychology needs to be studied. Not normal at all.

I don’t know if celebrities merch their clothes whilst simultaneously doing so called charity work, can’t say I’ve noticed it, I presume Ed Sheeran wasn’t putting up pictures of himself with sick children on his website next to a link of his clothes and his latest album, same for Pink, however even if they did, the difference is they haven’t done it pretending to be royals, using royal tours as a blueprint and using British royal titles to do so.

AtIusvue · 17/04/2026 07:33

This should be setting off alarm bells at Buck Palace.

  • They need to be removed from the website
  • They need to be given a formal warning about the Sandringham summit agreement, and that if they continue to ‘pass off’ their tours as royal while merching goods …titles will be removed.

I don’t think the photo will pass muster, it’s the image of the guy in his budge smugglers, walking ahead of them as they head to a spot where so many people were killed and injured, it typifies the ignominy of this trip.

StartupRepair · 17/04/2026 07:40

No words.

Not2identifying · 17/04/2026 07:44

I'm definitely moving from thinking there should be no reaction fromm the RF to thinking @AtIusvue is right.

The transparent use of victims of terrorism for their own PR is abhorrent.

Even the Kardashians wouldn't stoop this low and that's saying a lot considering how they got famous in the first place

Thedom · 17/04/2026 07:49

Their Real Royal tour visit 8 years ago., now that is a crowd,

This visit is so repulsive from every angle

You can pretty much guarantee nothing will happen.BP is complicit in their inaction on these two.

Merching your clothes off the back of the suffering of others is, as I said above, disgusting. This is their twisted version of service, where they “show up”, think their mere presence is “doing good”, cost tax payers millions in the process for a completely unnecessary police/security detail; and then pocket themselves some filthy money from the utter fools that are giving them these opportunities to gurn at yet another camera and moan yet again because they are only the 4th and 5th most privileged adults on the planet, and that’s not fair.

Shame on the hospital, shame on the Australian military, shame on Invictus, shame on that idiot retreat woman. You are all complicit.

Lockupyourbiscuits · 17/04/2026 08:06

They are taking advantage of a vacuum
There havent been too many royal trips of late and no one really gets excited about Sophie and Edward
Any criticism they can brush off with the victim cloak

Harry is in his element- he was the most popular royal and he craves that - I think that’s what he is looking for and possibly did most psychological damage to him - it can’t be healthy to develop such a big ego because you won’t be happy unless you have that adoration
