Interesting insight - so it’s in character that Meg would have been keen to find out in advance what Carey Mulligan and the others were wearing on Saturday evening at the Sarandos-Avant house. She’s got form for it.

And then she made her conscious choice to borrow a chartreuse clingy ill-fitting frock and act like a whackadoodle.

The really crafty thing about this is .. most people would assume that asking these questions is because the person asking is in fact trying to make sure they don’t clash or commit an accidental faux pas like this! 🙄

It's such an odd thing to do - mightn't she have hoped to be photographed near, (or holding hands with 😉) Carey Mulligan? Obviously not, as that would be playing second fiddle to a true star. Wearing the same colour guaranteed that they would not be photographed near each other.

You can guarantee that everything she says about herself is the exact opposite of what she's actually like.

I'm pretty sure it's tomorrow, Mylovelygreendress, though whether that's when they arrive or when various events begin I'm not certain

Ah, fair enough @TheAutumnCrow. Maybe they're having a day relaxing after the flight and maybe there are other events schedules before the retreat - I honestly wouldn't know, but it definitely said Tuesday on some media site

BTW does anyone happen to know if the Coogee Beach hotel's actually ready yet? I believe we have a couple of Sydney based posters, but stupidly I can't pick out names

I thought she might pull out from the retreat claiming security worries but I guess it's too late for that now.

She isn’t staying at the hotel and apparently only showing up for one planned speaking event with pictures after , if she pulls out it would possibly turn her paying fans against her , I doubt it’s worth the risk.

Is the real reason they are going to Australia not something to do with the new Soho House ? I am sure I read that they are footing expenses ?

PH speaking thing in Melbourne is on Wed or Thurs I think? Then MM is floating in to a women’s homeless shelter like Lady Bountiful - bit jarring in that she is then charging $3000 to other women for a fireside chat. Why doesn’t she invite the women from the shelter for a spa weekend?

I don’t understand why everything goes wrong with these two. Even basic parties are mired in controversy in some way. Why??!

There is no way it was a mistake and only a nutter would think of it - wild but inspired !

She is probably only there for an hour or less, rock up, give her me-me speech, walk from vip table to vip table (all 3 of them!) lean over the groups shoulders for a big wide smile and move on, cutesy bye-bye wave to the whole room as she is escorted out.

The party looks pretty normal.

Regarding the clashing green dress I do wonder whether someone was being a bit mean and perhaps told Meghan the wrong dress code to show her up? I find it hard to believe even Meghan would try to upstage CM, she would have been aware how that would look. I wondered whether she was told to wear chartreuse just to embarrass her.

Apparently! Marcus Anderson is opening a new soho house , she is apparently going to be there too , no idea about Harry , I believe it’s in Sydney .
