Regarding the clashing green dress I do wonder whether someone was being a bit mean and perhaps told Meghan the wrong dress code to show her up? I find it hard to believe even Meghan would try to upstage CM, she would have been aware how that would look. I wondered whether she was told to wear chartreuse just to embarrass her.

I don’t find it remotely unlikely that Meghan would try to steal the limelight ! She is a Duchess remember!!
And she has form for ignoring dress codes - Cambridge christening, Commonwealth Service to name but 2 .

Why do we presume there was a dress code?

Did someone get a copy of the invites?

I don't think Getty deleted the three (most) unflattering photos. I think Meghan bought them to get them off the internet. The fact that she allowed the handholding and laughing ones to stand - presumably because they best clap back at the Variety story that Ted Sarandos and Netflix are pissed off with them - tells you she still isn't listening to advice.

And what were they doing there in the first place, at a small gathering for the cast and producers of a TV show she's not remotely connected to with Harry, yet again, there as her emotional support animal? To her the evening was a photo op for her personal PR, somewhere small/intimate where she could be photographed with Ted and Nicole and get pics sent over to People magazine. Everyone and everything was the (free) setting for her to make this point about her superiority in the Netflix org. And, while she was at it, she couldn't resist letting everyone know this (two for the price of one) with that dress choice. Carey who? Oh, that little British actress? Best keep her away from Harry... Honestly, you have to gasp out loud sometimes at her own perception of herself and driving need to be recognized as The Best. She gives Trump a run for his money sometimes!

I can't imagine how much negativity there must be in their daily lives, dealing with all the hustling and terrible press and gossip and law suits and financial troubles and supposed security threats and small children and estrangements and lost friendships and transactional relationships. Utterly miserable, joyless, narrow existence.

The fact that she allowed the handholding and laughing ones to stand -

How do you get a fact from a think?

tells you she still isn't listening to advice - what advice and from whom?

And what were they doing there in the first place - looks like they were invited

... at a small gathering for the cast and producers of a TV show she's not remotely connected to ..wait - do you have an inside track that they were not invited?

To her the evening was a photo op for her personal PR, somewhere small/intimate where she could be photographed with Ted and Nicole and get pics sent over to People magazine - Ted and Nicole must be well pissed off. It looks like they had an officially photog at the event, time to know released the photos... Netflix?

Everyone and everything was the (free) setting for her to make this point about her superiority in the Netflix org - now it sounds like she organized it herself? Did she? Or was she invited? If invited, how could she have everyone and everything there to show her superiority?

And, while she was at it, she couldn't resist letting everyone know this (two for the price of one) with that dress choice. Carey who? Oh, that little British actress? - It is awful that she spoke like that about Carey (I love her btw). Can we see that quote? Also, can we see the dress code on the invite? You must have it, you speak with such authority.

you have to gasp out loud sometimes at her own perception of herself - is it perhaps your perception of her that is playing in your mind?

She gives Trump a run for his money sometimes - a man who tanking the world economy, bombing children in a school, shooting his own citizens - but MM is worse than him because she goes to a party wearing green? Let me introduce you to a little known concept called misogyny...

I can't imagine how much negativity there must be in their daily lives - but you can imagine it as here you are, daily.

... dealing with all the hustling and terrible press and gossip - testament to that

... and law suits - can't be fun I grant you

... and financial troubles - any chance of a document or two to back that up?

... and supposed security threats - well documented by the MET I thought but maybe I am wrong there.

... and small children - they seem to enjoy parenthood

... and estrangements - betrayal is never easy

... and lost friendships - also never easy

... and transactional relationships - also not good but, proof? Beyond the "I think, therefore it is fact?".

Utterly miserable, joyless, narrow existence - whose?

We presume because all the other women guests are wearing black and white, except a stray leopard print jacket (stray is the jacket, not the leopard).

There was definitely some sort of dress code / coordination going on for the main cast of BEEF if you look at all the main posed PR shots from that party.

Everyone is in black or black and white apart from Mulligan - and she’s in the centre of all the shots.

Now whether they required other party guests to follow a coloured dress code is unclear - Meghan and Harry weren’t going to be in the BEEF cast shots so maybe didn’t matter what they were wearing.

However it’s a very peculiar coincidence that Meghan is wearing the exact same shade as the star of the show - especially as nearly every event we’ve seen her at during the last few years she’s been in either black, white or beige with the occasional red dress.

NormalAuntFanny · 13/04/2026 14:41

I just saw a very funny clip of Australian news where they reported complaints about the Aussie taxpayer's paying for a 'non royal tour' and complaints from the markles that the mail and mirror had endangered their security by publishing their 'embargoed' itinerary.

ShamedBySiri · 13/04/2026 14:44

It’s quite an FU to the hosts, who happen to be people she needs for business reasons to ignore the dress code if she had been informed of one. Amazing really.

Anyway, on, on to Australia. I have just heard a clip on Sky news, Sussexes complaining that certain press have compromised their security by breaking an embargo and revealing details of their itinerary.
Perhaps they’d sue! 😱. Maybe there’ll be another near catastrophic car chase.

It must be a dilemma - security/avoiding booing crowds but simultaneously cutting off the possibility of some cheering fans as per the instagram post up thread. And if they are just secretly spirited into the various venues then that’s a poor news day for publicity. 🤷‍♀️
I think positive press will be in short supply from what I’ve seen of Australian commentators so far.

Still. Should we have a sweepstake on how many threads we may need to cover this “tour”??
Lots of entertainment for us to take our minds off the woes of the world. Happy days.

ALL?

So - in the interests of a fair and balanced discussion - how many women were at the party? I couldn't say because I have only seen the official photos where there are a handful of women in the background.

Presumably you do know how many were at the party because you said so - so of those, how many of those wore black?

Of the black wearers, how many work at Netflix in some capacity and were at a work do?

How many non black wearers were friends or performers?

I mean, if we are going to publicly trash someone, we should, in the interests of fairness, base on something real no?

Mylovelygreendress · 13/04/2026 14:47

Is the hotel work finished ?

CesarSoubreyon · 13/04/2026 14:48

Another thought....maybe the whole thing is a PR stunt by Netflix to draw attention to their show. I hadn't heard of BEEF before this and I do have Netflix.

For this to be true the Mulligan/Beef stylist would have had to let Markle know what the star of the show was going top wear.

Or, Markle would have had someone go spy to figure that out - irrational but could stand in the minds of some here.

Seems professional suicidal either way and as such irrational.

I just quickly glanced at an article in the Mail about the party and I’m now convinced DM reporters build their articles around what they’ve pilfered from our posts.

I have not seen the invitations to the BEEF party.
However , all the published photos do show the women in black and white ( or some wrangled leopard ) . It looks like there was a dress code from the published photographs but obviously I don't know. I can imagine it suited Sussex and Sarandos PR to show them all happy together to go along with the new NF contract being good for both of them narrative. If there was a dress code and M ignored it then I think that's just ill-mannered. If there wasn't I'm surprised no-one else had anything colourful on , but maybe coincidence. It maybe Meghan was told she could wear what she liked given she wasn't anything to do with BEEF. Given that chartreuse colour is very much in vogue two green dresses wouldn't seem to me as much of a coincidence as all the other women being in black / white. I've no idea how difficult it would be to find out what CM was wearing , perhaps as simple as asking the hosts (which she's done before 😉)

But who knows. & there is a chance, with my insider knowledge of top level Netflix parties , I Could Very Well Be Wrong. 😊

She had Ted Sarandos’s wife in a death grip.
I can smell the desperation from the photo.

Perhaps that's why they're keeping back details, @ShamedBySiri - so that if the hoped-for crowds don't materialise they can blame the need for security?

And before anyone asks how I know they hope for crowds, they wouldn't have faked them on the Netflix series if they didn't

Is BEEF about a celebrity beef (I have never heard of it either)? If so, this could be utterly genius-level marketing by Netflix…🤣

I presumed it was a show about a chef 😆😆
