Harry always says the quiet bit out loud. We know he thinks that he is still doing royal service, this isn't anything new. But what is striking to me is that he felt he needed to say it, again.
I believe the subtext is that Harry knows he isn't being treated in the same way as when he was a working royal, he knows he is only representing himself and he hates it. In the same way as they released the HIHO statement in an attempt to get their own way, here I think he is trying to force himself into the HIHO status he wanted. The very fact he has said it indicates to me that he isn't HIHO, he isn't being treated as royal and he knows it and is furious.
It doesn't matter that he is cos playing Royal with the wreath laying.
It doesn't matter that he insists on his titles.
It doesn't matter that he is doing charity visits.
It doesn't matter because in this sentence he is showing us that he isn't being treated as Royal by anyone that matters and he knows he isn't.
A statement from the RF is unnecessary. They have made it clear he isn't a working royal, Harry has made it clear that he knows he isn't being treated as a working royal. What is the point of giving him status and another grievance by repeating themselves?
Having said that they do need to remove them from the website and if Harry gets political the Government need to weigh up whether another clarification of their status, as in Nigeria, is needed.
