Whether 'Twitter made up dresscode rumours or not', it's very odd that the only guest not wearing black and white is Meghan, and that Meghan has chosen the same colour as the GOH (which is an unusual colour).

Meghan looked dreadful whatever the colour, in fact in a way she’s done Carey Mulligan a favour, they looked opposite ends of the spectrum, Carey looked polished and elegant, the dress fitted her beautifully, Meghan looked not only manic, but dishevelled, creased and in desperate need of a pedicure, satin was not a good choice, it is very unforgiving as those pictures show.

I very much doubt it was Meghan's either. 😂

Not magic. Perhaps Hollywood types send out invitations with lines like: dress code: please wear black and white, as a contrast to our guest of honour Carrie Mulligan, who will be dressed in chartreuse, this season's most on-trend colour. There is already the photo of her in khaki at Prince Louis' christening when the other guest omen are in blue, and other examples of her ignoring the dress code.

Some of wouldn't be foolish enough to choose satin to wear at an event crawling with photographers, especially a dress with such a voluminous skirt. She hasn't learnt from her last satin mistake: brown trousers in a hot, humid climate 🙃
