Maybe he didn't know at the time she was a journalist, and as it is so long ago he had forgotten about her during the trial...

That's the problem with out of time cases.

….and Harry is still pretending he doesn’t get involved with journalists? 😂

The Times:

‘They appear to show the Mail on Sunday reporter calling the prince “Mr Mischief” and “H Bomb” and referring to their “fun weekend of naughtiness”. Harry appeared to call the journalist “sugar” and “Griff” and wrote: “Miss our movie snuggles!!”’

Is this a suggestion that they were shagging?

It suggests a degree of physical intimacy...

Well well well, so it’s not only his wife who lies to the British Courts!

Was he lying though? Or was he just recounting his memories - which, as we’ve all been told by him and therefore must accept unquestioningly, is as much the truth as written contemporaneous evidence?

Honestly, I don’t know whether Meghan sees an ally in Harry (both so good at eating their own bullshit) or whether she’s exasperated by his unending own-goals. Definitely don’t think she thinks “oh my, what a fox!” reading those messages. They make her look pretty pitiful for having him as her husband, not just because he’s proven to be a lying fool but because ew! Movie snuggles?? CG String? He wasn’t 12 years old in 2012!

Didn’t she come to visit them both on Monteshitshow?

Possibly! I wonder if M knew they had 'snuggles' 😂

KatherineParr · 31/03/2026 23:38

Oh dear. In Harry's defence, those messages are from a two month period so I suppose it is possible he didn't know during that time that she was a journalist but it does show that the media were not only part of his social circle but in the inner ring. His friends don't seem to have been worried about inviting a journalist to their parties. You can't exactly be discreet and tight lipped when you're getting drunk over a weekend of naughtiness.

If I’m reading it correctly the messages were from 2011 and CG worked for the mail from 2008 so I don’t think he can claim he didn’t know, but he will probably try!

BigWillyLittleTodger · 01/04/2026 00:09

I need to watch Palace Confidential! Will Jo grill Charlotte, “Did you shag Harry?” 🍿😂

Ballah · 01/04/2026 00:16

I was conflating CG-String with Bryony Gordon - isn’t she a Daily Mail correspondent that PH own personal friends with, has collaborated with on content and whom he has hosted at his home? Why would he be that involved with someone working for the Daily Mail on a personal and professional basis when he is suing the employer of his close friend? Was he likely to be shagging her as well?

Neither of them can lie straight in bed!!

myrtleWilson · 01/04/2026 06:42

BG’s greatest gift to the world (as I’ve said previously) was the reveal of the monogrammed doormat at the montecito mansion!

Thedom · 01/04/2026 07:14

After all Harry’s accusations of the RF leaking to journalists, there he was actually in bed with a journalist !

I know. I can’t see him winning his case actually. CG has really taken one for the team.

Thedom · 01/04/2026 08:01

What I am curious to know is why Harry lied in court ! Sherborne must have known ANL had those messages, they were mentioned earlier in the proceedings it seems, so why would Harry not disclose them and instead try to cover up the extent of his relationship with a journalist. It does sound like it was a shagging party weekend between Harry and the DM journalist, and she was clearly hanging around in his circle with his friends, all apparently off their heads with alcohol and drugs.

Recklessismymiddlename · 01/04/2026 08:35

To put it kindly, Harry doesn’t appear to be the brightest spark. And if he can’t remember being told about the death of his great grandmother, when there is picture evidence, he’s not likely to remember this.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 01/04/2026 09:26

But it was DS job to know surely.

Guest385 · 01/04/2026 10:04

DS get paid regardless of outcome, perhaps he needed the cash. Can't imagine this trial is going to inhance his reputation with the celebs though.

Probably because lying is what he does, @Thedom?

Who cares that the messages were there ... if today's story is that he didn't know her then that's what he'll expect everyone to accept, and if they don't then they're victimising him
He's a prince don't you know, and clearly he's never got used to the fact that folk will no longer quail at his every utterance

One of the articles we looked at on the trial thread said that Sherborne does the hacking cases on a no win/no fee basis.

I've no idea whether that is actually true, but the FT article is here.

ShamedBySiri · 01/04/2026 11:52

Wow. Big losses all round if this loses.
Can Harry’s part lose but bits pertaining to other claimants win?
They are all liable for huge costs I believe so I doubt Harry is very popular with them just now.

MaturingCheeseball · 01/04/2026 11:55

Gosh, journalists are dedicated to the pursuit of a story! I think, even if I’d managed to inveigle my way into Harry’s set, I’d have pushed my exit button if I received those yucky texts. But I guess that’s Hooray Speak for you.

More - curled lip emoji (is there a word for curled lip?!) - is his moaning about the boring charity meeting. Ok, meetings can be tedious, but he was yapping to a journalist about this. And hungover at Trooping the Colour. What a waster…

bluegreygreen · 01/04/2026 12:08

@ShamedBySiri There are group costs and individual costs for the claimants.

While the cases are being heard together, each stands on its own merits, so it's possible for one (or more) to win and others to lose.

As I understand it, if some win and others lose, those who lose would have to pay a higher proportion of the group costs, as well as their own individual costs (and of course the defendant's costs, if awarded).

Judge Nicklin warned the claimants about the rising costs, and told them to make sure they were able to cover them, in one of the pretrial hearings.

Thanks, thats interesting. I am very curious as to how trials such as these are funded. The sums must be eyewatering for such a long trial, someone must check they are all good for the cash (on both sides). The risk of non-payment must be a concern.
