Prince Harry and Meghan’s huge Aussie plans revealed. Visit to Sydney and Melbourne in Mid-April.

EXCLUSIVE

More than seven years after then-newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan embarked on their hugely successful Aussie tour, the couple is reportedly heading back Down Under.

A source confirmed exclusively to news.com.au that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to visit Sydney and Melbourne in mid-April.

While their last trip to our shores was in an official capacity as working members of the royal family, this time around they’re travelling as private citizens – and it’s understood they’ll be focusing on activities related to their businesses and philanthropic work.

Details of their specific plans remain unclear, but it’s been rumoured that Meghan will appear as a guest on the Her Best Life podcast, which was initially launched and co-hosted by Jackie “O” Henderson and Gemma O’Neill through their “Besties” company. Earlier this year, just a couple of weeks before her high-profile and abrupt recent exit from her KIIS breakfast show, Henderson revealed that she had decided to “step away” from the venture.

It’s rumoured that Meghan will also appear as a special guest at an upcoming “Besties” event, following in the footsteps of previous VIP speaker Gwyneth Paltrow.

The actress took part in a wide-ranging Q&A with Henderson back in 2023 which attracted around 3,000 ticketholders to the ICC in Sydney’s Darling Harbour – so Meghan’s appearance could be in a similar capacity.
Despite Henderson’s recent departure from the Besties company, she hinted last month that she may return in some capacity in the future - and perhaps Meghan’s involvement could be one such occasion.

While details of the couple’s itinerary are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks, it’s likely that Harry’s plans will involve Australia’s armed forces or veterans’ community, given his strong connections to both.

It’s understood he also has a number of friends locally, fostered across multiple previous visits, including during his month-long stay with the ADF at an army barracks in Darwin back in 2015.
And in his 2023 memoir, Harry gushed over his time living in Australia as a 19-year-old in 2003.
He wrote in Spare that working as a jackaroo on a farm in rural Queensland had helped him find inner peace during what were “some of the best” weeks of his life.

It’s not yet known whether the Sussexes’ children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, will join them on the trip next month or stay back at the family’s home in Montecito, California.

News.com.au understands that the royal couple’s Aussie visit has been in the works for almost a year.

I think the issues with Andrew (still legally a prince)

@Choux Andrew is no longer a prince, from the date of Charles' Letters Patent.

He does retain his Dukedom, as removal of that requires an act of parliament, but was removed from the Roll of the Peerage, so cannot be addressed as Duke.

Charles III Letters Patent 03/11/2025 Letters Patent

Sorry I got mixed up as to what had been removed. Thanks for the correction.

You say They even reportedly have a WhatsApp group with their favored journalists ...reportedly? As in you know this for a fact otherwise if its jidt conjecture, speculation rumour then you cant call them hypocrites until you know it for a fact.

It came from an article published in The Times after their Head of PR, Ashley Hansen, left Archewell.

People were surprised at the article at the time, because it was pretty frank -
it gave the clear impression that Ashley Hansen had resigned without a job to go to, because she was looking for freelance work after her stint at Archewell hadn’t worked out. The sources said that the clients didn’t always listen to her advice. It also said that she’d worked on rebuilding the Sussexes’ relationship with UK tabloids following Meghan and Harry’s announcement that they would never work with them, and mentioned she had WhatsApp groups including tabloid jounalists to brief them behind the scenes about the German Invictus appearances.

The article was taken down shortly after it was published, most likely an after contact from Archewell/the Sussexes’ lawyers, as it arguably contained confidential information in breach of Hansen’s NDA agreements with Archewell.

They can go and do their thing wherever they like, but I don’t think they should use any titles or styles. They are not associated with the Royal Family now.

Thank you @Serenster

I found a link to the Times article, although trying to archive it properly takes you to a page saying it has been removed

I'm guessing they can use their charity to fund this ego trip, if they call it a charity mission rather than a holiday. Or use it as a tax write off?
What have they got to offer Australia? It is quite mystifying why they think people will still be interested.

MrsLeonFarrell · 08/03/2026 14:51

Not sure I'd call it a huge trip but whatever. They are free citizens who can go where they want and do what they want.

Longshinyhair · 08/03/2026 14:52

Who is paying for their security I wonder, let’s hope it’s not the Australian tax payer funding their silly little ego trip.

Now @MrsLeonFarrell, you said that to me when I was concerned about the Jordan trip , that turned out rather badly and this trip again using their titles will be another opportunity for them to demonstrate their behaviour.

DaphneduM · 08/03/2026 15:09

It sounds like an interesting trip for them. I don't get the vitriol and hate that they attract from some people - personally I prefer them to our present 'working' Royals. And it's not my taxes funding them either. Maybe William and Kate should get off their backsides and start doing some meaningful work instead of leaving it all to King Charles and Camilla.

You fund their security when they are in the U.K. . And what about H’s endless court cases ?

… have Australia officially invited them?

There’s a lot of hate from people I assume are grown women on Mumsnet. Nothing gets in the way of their H&M hatred. Someone wanted them stuck in a war zone last week to teach them a lesson.

Let's hope they don't start another war 😂

It's a visit as private citizens.

"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are scheduled to visit Australia next month for a series of private, business, and philanthropic engagements."

They spend a great deal of time away from their kids don't they?

Good question, StormyLandCloud

When saying earlier that I thought Australians had more sense this is what I was referring to, but it was wrong of me not to remember that a visit doesn't necessarily mean they have been invited ... at least not by anyone significant

Yes, this will be interesting. Does anyone know if private security can be armed in Australia? That's one of the sticking points in the UK, isn't it?

I believe I read somewhere that Meghan was invited onto a podcast by the lady running it, I’ve forgotten the details now and Harry is there for something military ( non official) .

YourBreezyPanda · 08/03/2026 15:30

like I said far more smoke for an annoying at most tour than a pedo lmao

DaphneduM · 08/03/2026 15:30

Mylovelygreendress · 08/03/2026 15:17

The court case about getting his security back has cost the taxpayers money to defend, granted. His case against the Home Office £600k to date apparently. Obviously his other court cases against the tabloids he's funding himself. I think it was a great pity the situation with Harry and Meghan wasn't thought through properly and rationally.

Personally I believe if he needs to come back here, then he and his family deserve to have security. I understand he does bring his own private security team when he comes here on his own. I guess there must be quite the dilemma about their security for the Invictus Games in Birmingham - we shall see.

jeffgoldblum · 08/03/2026 15:32

Harry does get security paid for by taxpayers when he gives notice and is here .

Awkward 😬😬😬 Is it giving her tips on how to do it successfully?

Ah, thanks jeff

A purely private visit would of course be entirely different, and it's not their fault if the media try to make it out to be something else, but somehow I doubt they'll be able to resist publicity stunts

Very happy to be proved wrong though ...

Well it would be fine if they didn’t feel the need for any announcement or leak to lead with….The duke and Duchess of Sussex…. 🙄 , prince Harry and Meghan markle would be more appropriate for private trips.

Mylovelygreendress · 08/03/2026 15:41

Why do they need to announce the trip ? Why not just go ?
By the way I would like to announce that I am going to Rome next week .
