Questions being asked on walk abouts

William was on a walkabout and a member of the public asked him how long he had known about Andrew.
Do you think William should have answered? If true, he could have said he knew nothing about it until recently.

OP posts:

No he should not have done. Anything said by the Prince of Wales could be used by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's lawyers to help him escape justice.

He’ll have been coached with endless bland nonsenses for all such awkward moments — how to essentially say ‘No comment’ over and over, but with the air of one slightly disappointed in the bad manners of his subjects at bringing up the latest family embarrassment.

Is dodgy uncle Andrew having sex with trafficked young women, hobnobbing with known paedophiles and traffickers, and spilling financially sensitive information better or worse than dodgy great-great uncle David being a Nazi collaborator?

Reddog1 · 06/03/2026 14:03

He’s probably been advised to ignore the questions. If he pleads ignorance until recently and some whistleblower proves he was apprised in 2012 (or whatever) he’s in a mess.

OhDear111 · 06/03/2026 14:06

The the QE2 and Charles being ahead of him in the pecking order until recently, what would he reasonably have known about his uncle back then? Not much. No doubt he’s voiced his opinions now but not to the public.

The likelihood is that he and the rest of them knew though so it suits them to be quiet now. Let the pest questions continue at such events.

wordler · 06/03/2026 16:19

I think Charles should answer at some point about how much he knew about Andrew at the point he became monarch and had the power to do something about it.

But I think that need to happen after the official police investigation / trial has concluded so that there’s no chance of lawyers making any claims that AMW’s chance at a fair trial have been prevented.

He didn’t ignore it . He virtually mocked the questioner by cupping his ear and pretending he couldn’t hear

He is supposed to be next up head of state and next up head of the Church of England and that is how he behaves?

He does not have launch into a speech ( I doubt he’s capable of an off the cuff speech ) but there are many much better ways to respond .

The other issue is why the questioner was then approached by a policeman who asked for his details ( this was refused ) .The police seem to do this almost every time a member of the public asks a question of the Windsors that isn’t sycophantic.

Yes ! We need more of this questioning .
The public have a right to know and we have a right to let our outrage be known .

We have been deceived by the Windsors for years at this point . The little we know now is purely as a result of information released in America .

Exactly. What does anyone know what their uncle is up to?!

CurlewKate · 06/03/2026 17:03

He would have been advised by the police to say nothing. It would be easy to screw up any future trial by speaking out.

The monarchy fans are funny though, with their “Of course the poor sweet innocent chicken would’t have known anything….”

Oh! I didn’t notice the ear cupping thing. What a twit he is.

BillericayDickie · 06/03/2026 17:06

I don’t think a walk about is the place to ask and answer questions like that.

Ukisgaslit · 06/03/2026 17:13

As I said he doesn’t have to launch into a speech but he didn’t have to try to mock the questioner .

But the questioner performs another function - he is making clear the outrage of the average person . The Windsors need to hear that and hear it every time they stick their noses out in public . The think the can continue to carry on as normal .

The Spanish king stood and allowed himself to be pelted with mud when Spanish citizens were in despair over floods . He took it . It wasn’t even his responsibility.

All the Windsors knew about Andrew and even tried to rehabilitate his image and William can’t cope with one question? And the Windsors family is connected to tueAndrew scandal and perhaps other Epstein links. But we aren’t even allowed to know who paid Virginia off -we know a group of Windsors did an it wasn’t solely Elizabeth

Ukisgaslit · 06/03/2026 17:17

JSMill · 06/03/2026 16:44

Exactly. What does anyone know what their uncle is up to?!

This ‘ who knows what their uncle does’ is not a valid response

The Windsors have multi million pound security paid for by us. They are protected 24/7

Not only did they know - they thought they had gotten away with it so launched their failed attempt to blacken Virginias name and rehabilitate Andrews reputation

But they didnt get away with it - thanks to the continued bravery of Virginia and to the fact that the files were released in America and the Windsors couldn’t control information as they usually do .

When is the time and place to ask a question like that?

When is William - who we as tax payers fund - available to be questioned by the public? Or our representatives?

Don't be ridiculous.

Considering half the wives on the Relationship board dont know what their husbands are up to why do you think people should know what a person living in a separate household is up to 🙄

ginasevern · 06/03/2026 18:11

@JSMill "Exactly. What does anyone know what their uncle is up to?!"

Oh for god sake, stop trying to make them sound like some kind of average family.

That I don’t have an answer to.
so it seems I’m wrong as it’s the only time a member of the public can ask.

Let’s not pretend they work like an ordinary family, they operate more like a like a business.

Rhaidimiddim · 06/03/2026 18:57

It is a daft question.

Known what, exactly?

CurlewKate · 06/03/2026 18:59

William was 40 and very much a senior Royal when Virginia Giuffre was paid off. I can’t believe that anyone thinks he knew nothing about that.

LlynTegid · 06/03/2026 14:02

I suppose that depends on anyone thinking it likely MW will ever see the inside of a courtroom let alone a prison cell.

NightBitch · 06/03/2026 21:20

Exactly. What does anyone know what their uncle is up to?!

The Royal Family aren’t only a family, they are ‘The Firm.’ And each member gets its slice of the pie - much of it public money. And as such, not comparable to your regular run of the mill extended family.

William might well have found out about his uncle when the world did. At this point, who knows?

Don’t be ridiculous! That’s a false comparison.

AMW’s every movement has been planned, risk assessed, facilitated, observed and logged by a whole host of professionals from senior civil servants, police / security, government and Palace officials - so if any family member had any doubts or concerns - they have a whole 24/7 evidence base to access for every day of his life.

There are many people with their snouts in the trough, who's careers, revenue streams, reputations and likelihoods require this to be buried.
