Questions being asked on walk abouts

William was on a walkabout and a member of the public asked him how long he had known about Andrew.
Do you think William should have answered? If true, he could have said he knew nothing about it until recently.

His misdeeds, lies, behaviour, grifting, backhanders, dodgy associates... over decades

And there is the problem.

That is a lot to answer, and the format of the venue is not the right place to expect an answer.

I'm not bothered if people do keep shouting out inconvenient questions and making public anger at the AMW situation known at RF events. But I'm not going to agree that any of them should be expected to provide an answer, and deserve censure if they don't, when walkabouting.

Particularly someone who would have been powerless for much of the time AMW was happening.

Presumable you don’t act as a group who serves the public?

It's one of those Schrodinger's royal family situations. They both serve the public and are behind the scenes an ordinary family.

To Royalists what Andrew got up to and what his close family knew is very much in the box of them being like any other ordinary family and thus knowing nothing or very little.

I've said about 4 times, I would not expect him to answer. Of course he won't answer. Nor Charles. Nor any of them.

It is about applying public pressure.

I agree. The days of them wandering about amongst "subjects" thinking everyone loves them is at an end, and so it should be.

Do you think so? Catherine and William seem very popular . . .

Agree. People should keep asking the questions….loudly!

FlowerFairyDaisy · 10/03/2026 14:59

They don't think that everyone loves them, though. They are all kept informed of popularity polls and briefed on what to expect when meeting the public. They are well aware that not everyone supports them and the notion of a Monarchy and know how to react.

We live in a country where such heckling can happen, which we should admire. Doesn't mean we have to approve of it.

Well I see it the same as the objective and impact of a public protest march in a democracy- no answers on the day, but views, concerns are expressed - which raises the issue and puts pressure on institutions to reflect and respond.

Can you cite an available alternative process whereby the public can press for deserved answers?
