This time to Jordan. What do they bring to it, exactly? What is their role? To bring attention to the issue of Syrian refugees? Jordan is dealing with them fine.

What are they there for? In what capacity?

Harry and Meghan land in Jordan as they begin two-day visit

Prince Harry and Meghan today began a busy two-day visit to Jordan - one of Prince William and Kate's favourite countries - as they met people working with refugees.

And corruption.

And tax.

Well yes, that too 😀. Sooooo many reasons but if you mention money you get tediously accused of the politics of envy 🙄🤯

A bit humorless there @jeffgoldblum !

I’m sorry! If all your posts were meant to be humorous, I missed it.

A true republican wants the whole monarchy abolished and doesn’t campaign for certain members to get a bigger slice of the pie , they certainly don’t declare that they are looking forward to the coronation of “ good king Harry” !

Who says that?

As you say - not on this thread!

Mind you, being up to my tonsils in various fees I would not mind a little of their cash!

😃

I will not name the offending posters ! But I’m sorry to confirm it was more than one and yes if you have been here awhile you would recognise them.

Are posters not allowed to deviate from “true republicanism” then? A weird take 😂

It’s free publicity for their brand. Which would be fine if it weren’t for the titles. They should drop them completely and admit they are celebrities instead of trading of being Royal.

But royals are just celebrities now too. We’ve long since grown out of the ludicrous idea that they’re “chosen by god” (if this were true it’s another bloody good reason I’m an atheist 🤯😂), so they’re just another celebrity family, albeit funded by the taxpayer.

Yes, funded by us.

It never ceases to amaze me!

They are the state representatives of Britain first though. They have a defined role.
As Harry and Meghan show any wealthy influencer can do a tour supporting something. Who it's in the best interest of though is debatable.

Oh lovely, I'm really looking forwards to seeing them. I know the daily mail will have them headlining even though they claim to hate them and regardless of what ever else is going on in the world.

I'm looking forwards to seeing them they always represent themselves so well around the world and always seem so loved.

Assuming that the WHO is a legitimate organization with rules, directors, auditors, accountants, proper structures and so on-

CurlewKate · 26/02/2026 04:46

Sorry- pressed send by mistake-what is in this trip for them? What do they get out of it?

ThePerfectWeekender · 26/02/2026 04:54

Did the WHO pay for the private jet, accommodation, security, multiple outfit changes (at least three on the first day), etc.? From what I see H&M seem to turn the public away from any cause they're linked to. WHO might live to regret this move.

Airbagger · 26/02/2026 04:58

Well I didn’t know there were Syrian refugees in Jordan. So it did raise awareness first me. Jordan does seem to take a lot of refugees from different countries.

But Invictus seems to go from strength to strength...

Front pages?

In many countries - hard coverage to get.

It does seem baffling. But we must assume that the WHO knows more about its business than random Mumsnetters, so what is going on?

I am just waiting for the day that Harry gets fed up with all the hoohaa and sunshine and makes tracks for home, home being England. I wonder if William would welcome him back! Or maybe does he (Harry) feel he has burned his boats?

Edited

Return to the disaster with his family here? Why would he. I'm sure he's glad he's well away from the disgraceful situation.

JustMyView13 · 26/02/2026 05:23

If 2026 hasn’t shown you that H&M were not the problem amongst the Royal Family you were all led to believe they were, nothing will.

The nastiness on this thread makes me sad. Whatever you think about the family situation, they’re not doing anything other than leading their lives. You may disagree with how they’re doing it, but the personal attacks / name calling / presumptions about their character and motives isn’t really necessary.

I couldn't agree more.

Irrelevant comments like how Meghan looks and that she needs a stylist. She's not on the catwalk.

The motivation of this thread and the majority of the comments, are representative of the hatred towards them and part of why they left in the first place.

They got heat while they were here and still get it when they've left. Their mere existence is a problem for so many. What a shame.

This thread is filled with nastiness and people making comments, that they translate into facts - as if they work for WHO or are privy to the administrative processes involved in their trip.

So the WHO rather than using their funds to provide aid and rebuild Gaza have paid for 2 grifters to have a holiday. And they won’t have flown economy or be staying in a budget hotel. FFS

You should take that up with the government of Israel.

WHO, along with most international organizations, and all journalists, cannot go into Gaza.

Interesting no?
