This time to Jordan. What do they bring to it, exactly? What is their role? To bring attention to the issue of Syrian refugees? Jordan is dealing with them fine.

What are they there for? In what capacity?

Harry and Meghan land in Jordan as they begin two-day visit

Prince Harry and Meghan today began a busy two-day visit to Jordan - one of Prince William and Kate's favourite countries - as they met people working with refugees.

He truly is a loose cannon.

I like to thank everyone who defended me earlier. I grew up on the East coast, lived in 2 states of the West Coast for five years, then moved back east.

I know many people who changed coasts, states, etc.

Also, the US is much bigger than the UK. Distances are greater. People are willing to travel. People have come from all over NY state as well as neighboring states for protests.

I remember the first time I visited the US many years ago, my friends thought it was perfectly normal to drive 3 hours for lunch…..

So we now know it's easier to gatecrash a British Embassy reception than an audience with the King of Jordan.

I wonder if the ambassador is regretting his welcome speech a couple of days ago yet?

I wonder how much warning the Embassy got that the Plus 2 the WHO chief was bringing along to the reception were H&M?.....

I think the Ambassador realizes he made an huge faux pas and is back peddling massively.

Why would the British Embassy invite the Ethiopian DG to a British Embassy IFTAR? Why not the Ethiopian embassy, or the Swiss embassy invite the WHO delegation. It’s because of Prince Harry, no other reason. I don’t think he expected the public backlash. His supposed welcome statement has not been officially issued by the ambassador or the embassy or any official statement, wonder how that got out there.

Scorchio84 · 27/02/2026 15:44

What a shit show, I've been following it all online for the past couple of days. It just seems to be one faux pas after another, I'm presuming Sunshine Sachs are getting paid big money for their spin & advice & this is the best they can do?

They both looked so tense & awkward throughout, well from the pics I've seen anyway & the "gate-crashing" rumours would have me running for my bed with the curtains drawn for a very long time! It will be interesting to see what their next move is?

I'm only working on what's in the DM but the claim is the Ambassador invited World Health Organisation officials to the British Ambassador’s residence for Ifta....

Embassies/Ambassadors do that sort of thing or similar on a routine basis for various groups.

Question is did the Ambassador know ahead of time that H&M were going to tag along...

If the Ambassador did know ahead of time what would have been repercutions if he had said "no...."

If he only found out when they arrived, again, what would the repercutions have been if Ambassador and/or staff said "you two - no entry".

I suspect the diplomatic thing to do from the Ambassadors POV would be to politely ignore as much as possible but maybe report to London.

...and if H&M had any sense of tact and diplomacy just maybe they would have realised it was not an event to attend, because just them being there would create waves......

As it is the Ambassador has been dropped in the brown stuff.

But they really, desperately wanted everyone to know they were invited to the British Ambassadors residence, so they put out a statement. 🙄🙄. There was no way in hell they would have declined the offer.

bluegreygreen · 27/02/2026 16:27

I think once they turned up on the doorstep this was probably the only diplomatic move the ambassador could make.

Where he fouled up, in my opinion, was the obvious welcome statement the previous day. He would have been better saying nothing.
Philip Hall, British Ambassador to Jordan, thanked the Sussexes for travelling to the Middle East.
"Your visit, your support, your appreciation of the efforts that the United Nations, including of course, the World Health Organization, the government of Jordan and others, are making here is enormously appreciated," Hall said.

Oh - so WHO-guy, Meghan and Harry thought an invitation only, diplomatic reception was the same as a Kardashian party 🙄🙄

The chickens are coming home to roost. People remember what you say.

Exactly. I said something similar on the other thread, but I think it’s despicable to use these injured children as PR props when neither Harry or Meghan has said a damn thing about the atrocities being committed in Gaza over the last few years.

I can’t really blame sunshine sachs, other than for taking H&M as clients again, as they’ve proven time and time again that they won’t take advice. I assume they demanded a trip was organised for them with whoever could be coerced into extending an invite, and any cautionary advice given to them by their PR firm would have fallen on deaf ears (and based on what we’ve heard before, probably resulting in some screaming abuse)

Ohpleeeease · 27/02/2026 18:06

I struggle to believe the Ambassador gave that gushing welcome off the bat. We’re told BP knew of the visit so there was time to decide whether there should be any involvement from the Embassy and what that should be. This feels like another step towards the rehabilitation of Harry.

What rehabilitation? There’s absolutely no way Harry will ever be a working member of the family ever again. Even if he wanted to.

Have the palace confirmed this?

There have been occasions before where a message had apparently been sent but had not been received ...

No flipping way is he being rehabilitated !

BemusedAmerican · 27/02/2026 19:55

They seem to be really annoying the Jordanians. I bet C& C and W & C get sympathy cards.

CathyorClaire · 27/02/2026 20:54

If BP really feel there's room for that toxic toad to be rehabbed they're flogging the dying royal horse to even less effect than ever.

DisforDarkChocolate · 27/02/2026 21:19

Harry doesn't need rehabilitation, he's far saner that the toxic pervert loving mess he left behind.

Ooh dear. He really shouldn’t have waded in with his comments on Gaza. Now Israel is responding.
