Are the Waleses and the Andrew Unity Drive A bridge too far? Seriously, why were William and Catherine protecting Andrew?

I’ve always been a supporter of the Prince and Princess of Wales, but I am finding it harder and harder to defend their recent excuses and petty behavior regarding 'family unity'.

Specifically, I’m looking at the optics of William personally driving Prince Andrew to church at Balmora Daily Mail report here

This wasn't just a family carpool; it was a deliberate, televised statement of support. William was in the driver's seat, Andrew in the passenger seat, and Catherine in the back.

At the same time, we have royal commentators like Jennie Bond stating that William and Catherine would 'rather have Andrew as a neighbour than Meghan and Harry. Independent article here

I understand that family dynamics are complicated and that they feel betrayed by the Sussexes' interviews. However:

1. Harry and Meghan are a family feud involving books and Netflix deals, though they couldnt protect Meghan against racism, not even make an statement
2. Prince Andrew is a man associated with Jeffrey Epstein, impliyed in e-mails to ne object in the death of a girl, hes a well known liar and with multi-million dollar settlement alongside much other bizarre stuff.

How can William and Catherine justify being part of the face of Andrew’s rehabilitation even after he was impliyed while being so publicly cold toward William’s own brother? Does anyone else feel like their moral compass is slightly off here? Surely a sister-in-law isn't worse than the Andrew crimes? Why he royal family and media even tried to protect him and only acted this year?

I wonder if Meghan got any insights from her Soho House buddy Eugenie on what went on between her parents anf Epstein. That would boost sales.

He was flown with the rest of them to balmoral . Then driven by William to the castle.
He was driven by William to church to ensure a photo - Andrew in the front - just as deliberate and brazen as when Elizabeth did the same.

We saw Andrew stroll up to William at the recent funeral . Both laughing until William realised - wait a minute the current PR line is I hate you - covered his mouth then to hide whatever he was saying .
This is ridiculous. Clearly any fool can see the so called punishment’ of Andrew is for public image reasons and is a lie. He’s right there with the Windsors and always has been.
They have all known for years and their belated actions are rank hypocrisy.

I have watched the footage and see William looking deeply uncomfortable and trying not to make eye contact apart from a frosty glare but I don't see laughing.

Didn’t need briefings or even headlines for what that family was actively doing, which was trying to bring Andrew back into the fold even up until Sept 2025 when he was last pictured out with 4 seniors royals. Its very weird at the least and amoral, i wouldnt want anything to do with him after women accusing him of abuse, and victims should be believed. His uncomfortable body language is very clear - he's being civil as is required at a televised funeral out of respect for the D of K and her family,knowing that the cameras will be on him at some point, but not speaking to or laughing with A, avoiding eye contact, and certainly not mirroring A's attempts to engage him in conversation.

He starts to lean away from AMW and speaks to the people behind - and does smile at something the people behind say to him (Kate, Sophie, Tim and Anne I think). Looks really pissed off that AMW is scuttling around trying to follow them an get in centre shot.

The only person who does smile at something AMW says is Charles

William also executes the perfect cut was he steps across AMW with his back to him to speak to the priest before leaving.
