Here's a summary for you - it's full of British traditions like cracker pulling which she explains 🙄 , how to decorate a tree with lights and wearing matching pyjamas with her friends. Harry appears for the last 5 mins.

People like mocking what she does because she just takes herself so darn seriously. Everything is so contrived. She's like Amanda from motherland dialed up to max.

She is just trying to earn money tho, hood luck to her.

But for alot of us non Amanda types, shes a hilarious side show.

Is there any evidence they’re actually false?

Not this again ? So many of her lies have been proven by a range of people from the courts to the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Prince Harry and Meghan had just one official ceremony says Justin Welby - BBC News

But he met the couple in a private setting in the run-up, the Archbishop of Canterbury says.

What's the "Hey oh!" call mentioned in the Times article?
I haven't watched the programme so can't imagine how it sounds.
Is it her pronunciation of Hygge (unlikely I think), or a minimalist "Ho ho ho" without the final ho?

I was amused to read in one of the articles about the Christmas miracle of Guy the Beagle coming back from the dead. How long ago was this filmed?!

All of them were filmed back to back at the same time but released at different times.

Nosleepforthismum · 03/12/2025 13:37

I just watched it while sorting out the laundry and I enjoyed it. It’s improved on the first series for sure and I actually would have enjoyed more Christmas episodes. It’s got the same vibe of a cheesy Christmas film.

jeffgoldblum · 03/12/2025 13:39

@meghansturkey, I’m mostly wondering why , when this program is being discussed on multiple threads, just why yours is the only one being singled out for attacks by multiple posters 🤷‍♀️ , it’s also obvious that they clearly don’t understand that your tongue in cheek humour is the U.K. way and see it as being angry !

EmpressSisi · 03/12/2025 13:48

ApplePie16 · 03/12/2025 12:49

Why? Because she acknowledges that she once had happy memories with people who have now hurt her? What’s amusing about that?

That’s the whole point. She’s talking about “reflecting on the chapters of your life” through ornaments, while also being the person who publicly cut off, criticised, and distanced herself from nearly everyone who appeared in those chapters.

That’s where the irony comes in. She’s spent years saying how toxic, damaging, and unbearable that life was (so unbearable she had to move across the world to escape it) yet now she’s playing merry hostess on a self promoting show, talking about nostalgic reflections tied to the very people she threw under the bus, all whilst trying to hawk her merchandise and promote her brand.

It’s the performance of happy family memories after loudly insisting those memories were so traumatising she had to escape from them. That contradiction is what people find amusing.

Of course, it’s fine if you don’t (or choose not to) see it. But plenty of viewers and professional writers have noticed, including The Independent. Their piece isn’t even a review or critique, just a bland run through of the show, yet even they couldn’t resist flagging this glaringly ironic moment.

I don’t think it’s hypocritical to clothes you have had happy memories with people who have damaged you. You can easily hold both feelings, and reflect on chapters of life which have shaped you.

jumpingthehighjump · 03/12/2025 13:56

Blimey some people are taking this waaaay too seriously

It's just festive pap like lots of stuff on the telly at the moment, it's Christmas! I don't think you have to be a perfect human being to talk about Christmas!

That’s your personal opinion, and you’re absolutely entitled to it. But it is just yours. Everyone else, including actual commentators and journalists, seems to disagree, because they’ve all picked up on the same irony and found it amusing enough to write about. Hence why every newspaper under the sun is commenting on it.

"Attacks by multiple posters" aka opinions that might be different to mine

Whatever next

So being a journalist means their opinion is more valuable?

When those opinions veer into personal attack and need deleting it is no longer a simple matter of differing opinions.

I was surprised to see Kirstie's show advertised the other day. I didn't realise she did this. It's Channel 4. There's been EIGHT seasons !

I love Kirsty’s show. She’s the only person in the world who is more terrible at crafting than me. It’s become a Christmas tradition to see what tat she can muck up.

I am not really Meg’s target audience, but I’m going to hazard a guess that she at least tries to appear competent. So much less entertaining.

I haven't watched the show, just read The Times article, but imagine inviting a chef to make a salad on your show and then proceed to tell him your husband would hate everything about said salad.

Apparently he then shows up to confirm that is indeed the case?

It's breathtakingly rude.

Well they get paid for it so…yes? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Also the fact that more than one has highlighted it is also worth thinking about…

I think sometimes people have a valid point to make about Meghan, but this isn’t one of those times. This is a thread that just proves some people have an issue with anything she does and the thread has already started to be used to bring up old stuff again and again.

ItsNearlyChristmasAndIHavntBoughtAThing · 03/12/2025 14:46

EmpressSisi · 03/12/2025 12:15

It’s a bit awkward that all the articles so far point out Meghan’s estrangement from her father and Harry’s estrangement from his family, then highlight her comment about Christmas trees “encapsulating your family story.”

Even The Independent has picked up on it, and their current piece is just a dry, straightforward run through of what actually happens in the show, with very little opinion.

My partner and I don’t have contact with most of our relatives, but we still have things on our Christmas tree from our childhoods, from family members who are no longer alive and also from since we started dating and having our own children, so despite us being estranged from lots of family members, our trees definitely still ‘encapsulate our family story’. I wouldn’t have necessarily put it like that but then I’m not making a Netflix show.

If only those that dislike her and anything she does would realize they drive traffic to any Netflix series! I knew nothing about it until I read this thread and now I'm going to watch it!
I like christmassy pap

Edited

And that’s valid. But as you said, you wouldn’t necessarily put it like that, and that’s why people find it cringe, awkward and amusing enough to comment upon.
