Harry wasn’t just drunk though, he looked very high, and I think that doesn’t look good for his image if he is trying to repair his relationship with the RF.

I’m sure there was plenty of the white stuff doing the rounds there, but no photos have emerged of others looking like he did (other than Bieber with the remnants of the white stuff on his trousers, but that was a pap shot, not posted by the Kardashians).

And then once the photos do come out, it’s the classic: “oh fuck, I’ve been caught out, just lay low until the news cycle moves on.” That’s basic never complain, never explain territory, but unfortunately it’s a royal lesson Harry and Meghan never really mastered.

Yes. From what they said to Oprah and in their documentary, they were furious that the Palace press team wouldn’t let them clap back at things said in the press that they didn’t like. Now, with their own media team, they are perfectly free to do so - and the downsides can be seen. This story has run and run, largely with the Sussexes bearing the brunt of it, for a whole week now. If they’d said nothing it would have been forgotten.

(Unless of course they just wanted to be in the media for as long as they could - that is another possibility)

I know they’re inveterate attention seekers but surely even Meghan would draw the line if the attention in question is people pointing out how badly dressed she is, that she’s wearing mismatched daywear that’s years old when everyone else is in couture, that she looks a bit frumpy in that company and that the outfit does nothing for her figure. I mean that’s putting it politely, I imagine some of the comments elsewhere are absolutely brutal. And surely Harry would balk at such an unfavourable comparison with his brother / the rest of the family doing the remembrance stuff. But anything is possible with these two nincompoops!

Yes, I think that's a very good point. That was their biggest gripe - that the Palace wouldn't clap back at every negative thing.

Despite what Meghan claimed on her show, 'Sussex' is not a legally recognised surname. It's used as an aristocratic convention but it has no official status, certainly not outside of Britain. Meghan's legal surname is either Markle or Mountbatten Windsor.

I don’t think she ever takes any notice of her PR advisers. I get the distinct impression that she employs PR people because that is what the rich and famous do, not because she feels she needs their advice. Hence the revolving door of staff when they realise that they are largely taking to themselves and that their client is just going to completely disregard them

I think that’s a really good observation @smilesy . They want staff to ponce around saying they have “An Office”. But they don’t listen to those staff, so the outcome is more like “The Office”.

Let’s face it , she is exactly where she has always wanted to be; living in a mansion in California, hobnobbing with so called A listers AND with a title ! There is no way she would want to return to visiting Community Centres etc especially as she will never be top dog . Walking behind Catherine for the rest of her life ? No way .
I am not saying she deliberately chose to look a mess but there is no way she was going to give up THE party of the year because it might annoy The King .

Well, someone close to Harry leaked information about his meeting with the King, and tipped the press off to take pictures of the PR staff meeting last summer. Someone, perhaps, who has a vested interested in trying to prevent Harry from improving relations with his family as it would mean that person no longer had total control over him,

Harry could have met the King in any number of discreet locations had he wanted. Instead he chose to drive right up to the public entrance of Clarence House, knowing very well that photographers were waiting.

I agree that Meghan probably does not want a 'reconciliation'. My theory is that the 'security' nonsense is partly down to Harry's ego and delusion about still being a working royal. But I also suspect Meghan has told him that she won't allow him to take the children out of the US and is using 'security' as an excuse.

She doesn't want rapprochement, because she has presented herself as a victim in the situation, so that would have to change.

If this was a thread on mumsnet with a female saying her partner was stopping the children seeing her family and she had been isolated from her old life everyone would be screaming LTB. It would be red flags of coercive control but in Harry’s case because of the intense dislike many posters have of him that is ignored.
