I was actually enjoying the posts discussing royal fashion, the jewels etc and have been engaging in good faith. See my previous posts about Kate's style, tiaras etc.

Clearly, despite claims to the otherwise, there are some members who do just want this to be a thread to attack Meghan so I'll do as told and go away.

Just a bit random, but I always loved this look on Meghan. She looks great in hats too.

It is a good look on her but a good example of her being determined not to fit in. All that shoulder on display on the Buckingham Palace balcony in the day.

bottledboot · 12/11/2025 19:11

@Spectre8 I don't understand why no bra is a crime either. I thought she had some lovely looks in Nigeria. I loved the yellow dress

You brought up the flashing of asses! , who exactly were you referring to then?

Saying flashing asses is fine apparently because it’s about Catherine when unfortunately her dress blew up in the wind years ago, but mention Meghan’s underwear is not a good choice for the outfit she is wearing then it’s pitchforks.

The other Balenciaga white outfit also had different whites, not a good look wearing Balenciaga in the first place with its suggestion of paedophilia images in its advertising campaign, yet she chose to wear their designs again.

The battle of the whites distresses me terribly. Full-on trauma 😆

Oh I wondered what this was about. Comparing a weather related accident to a deliberate choice. Weird.

Kate of course, who did you think? I think she is more of a classic dresser in terms of style than Meg. And I thought she flashed actual skin? It doesn't matter to me but let's not have one rule for one.

Seriously! , the wind blowing her skirt up is not flashing her ass! , at least I’m assuming that’s the incident you are referring to and not when a photographer upskirted her!

Why is it pitchforks to point out hypocrisy? What is the difference between a skirt blowing up in the wind and not realising something is sheer in the sunlight? Or are you saying @BigWillyLittleTodger that Meg knew it showed ass & chose it for that purpose?

Why not weights? There was more than one occasion she struggled with wind. Again I'm not criticising her for it, why are you excusing it though but criticising Meg for doing it? What is the difference?

I believe it is Royal protocol for Royal ladies to not expose shoulders, when on official duties
I recall Meghan broke a lot of rules and protocol during her short time as a working Royal
i know you like to defend her, bottledboot , but surely if you accept the Royal role you follow the rules

Honestly, it took every ounce of self-restraint not to post the South Park image all in the name of keeping the peace 😆😂

H's beard clashes a lot with M's Caroline Herrara pink suit.

So some do think it's a deliberate choice! I think that's a weird narrative, it hardly fits with her style.

It’s pitchforks because you cannot stand any form of criticism of Meghan, frankly it’s ridiculous, and the difference is no one has used vulgar language to describe Meghan wearing an unfortunate see through skirt, unlike you who used the term flashing asses with regards to Catherine, what a gross term to use.

I’m going to be blunt !
your double standards are clear criticism of anyone else Is clearly find by you ( even to the point you enthusiastically agreed with me about Paris and Catherine) but anything about Meghan is apparently off the table or hate!
you made a comment about Catherine having an unfortunate incident and thought that was great but suddenly it’s not when it’s Meghan.
and for your information, if Meghan didn’t plan that outfit can you explain exactly why she’s wearing extremely large spandex pants in a matching colour, when clearly she doesn’t normally care about her underwear?

bottledboot · 12/11/2025 19:21

@Wasntmeanttobelikethis Not agreeing isn't the same as defending is it? I just think it's very odd to hold one person up to a different standard. I can dislike someone but still remain impartial when discussing their outfit etc.

Ideally, I guess you should follow the Royal rules however I don't know what they are and I think if the outfit works then it works. Surely it's better to break the rules & avoid coat dresses? I always liked Kate in shorter hems but presumably that broke some rules hence why her hems got longer?

I had leggings once that looked fine those, went to gym and they looked see through ...there have even been threads on this forum where people are asking for black leggings that arent see through in various lights.

A colleague at work once wore leggings in on Xmas jumper day and we had to point out they were abit more sheer than she realised.

It can happen quite easily that things in different types of light will ahow differently just like the stories we see of clothes looking one colour in a picture vs in real life. 🤷‍♀️

To be honest I dont think the skirt it that bad and I didnt notice it u til it was pointed out and then realise you could se her underwear.

M definitely knew what she was doing; any exposure is good exposure ( no pun intended)

Yes exactly!
and I don’t really care, some of the royal rules seem a bit much to me and frankly the outfit looked nice to me , although technically yes it’s inappropriate for the setting.

I think you are blinded by your own hate @jeffgoldblum. I didn't love that Jenny Packham dress styling on Kate or Paris but loved the Erdem one, so what? I thought Ms black dress was boring & the wrong choice. i'm not sure why you have deemed me enthusiastic regarding some comments and not others. Fashion is subjective, this is not a revelation.

I thought we were allowed different opinions on the thread or have we come full circle and unless you are criticising then you shouldn't comment?

The mental gymnastics some people go through to be ‘offended’ by anything that isn’t full-on Meghan worship 🫣🥨

The double standards are honestly hilarious. They’re not even trying to hide it!

You don’t agree with a post’s content; you state that, then explain why, as a defence of M
You follow this pattern with every reply
Can keep to Royal rules and still look stylish, without resorting to coat dresses
Royal women have access to all styles

bottledboot · 12/11/2025 19:29

@Spectre8 someone told me years ago to photograph your outfit to see what it looks like on film. I never really bothered though & yes as you say mistakes happen.

IcedPurple · 12/11/2025 19:29

I personally don't think she knew that that dress would be see though. Again, this is where an experienced stylist who knows how different fabrics work in different lights would make all the difference. Meghan will of course have been provided with competent assistants, but we know she has a record of not listening to advice when it doesn't suit her.

Absolutely no excuse for this fright frock on the same Oz tour. Perilously close to revealing the Duchess' own down under.

Yes, me thinking she wore the sheer skirt by accident rather than design definitely involves more mental gymnastics than someone who thinks it was deliberate. 🙄
