He was really enjoying this 😂 as opposed to what he's seen previously .. but what's the story about the Sussex photos being deleted ?

Paris Hilton looks like she was wearing the silver version of Princess Catherine's stunning Jenny Packham gold dress, from the Bond premier she attended a few years ago.

Now that was a bond dress! I think even Daniel Craig came over all peculiar when he saw her!

It’s a shame that people who genuinely like the pomp and ceremony don’t get to enjoy the jewellery just because others don’t like a constitutional monarchy. I think we will see less and less diamonds when William is King and I do wonder if a crown will even be placed on his head at his Coronation, I have and inkling it will just be beside him on a velvet cushion, hopefully I’m wrong.

I hope you’re wrong too ! But have a feeling you may be correct!
but you know the complaints will come from people regardless of which way he goes!
the fact that these things are already paid for and cost nothing doesn’t matter to some!

I'm not fussed if we have a monarchy or not but if we do have one at least give us the jewels!

I’m the same! Happy to do away with them all. I do think that both Meghan and Catherine, For the most part dress really well. I love that red on Meghan. She could do with a bit of bling too. Maybe a small crown? 😉

bottledboot · 12/11/2025 16:58

I wore Jenny Packham for my wedding, it was beautiful dress. They are very flattering on.

It really was! Quite breathtaking. I'd definitely wear something in a rich gold for a James Bond themed party.

To be fair as a republican the lack of jewels really annoys me. We all know they’ve got them so why not show them off. Getting something out the vault seems a lot more sensible finance wise than paying for new more subtle jewellery 🤷‍♀️. That’s why I didn’t like the fawning over Kate’s headpiece at the coronation. Surely a pre-existing tiara would be more eco/financially savvy than commissioning something not a tiara in case people got upset at the site of crowns at a coronation…

Her best look ever. And she knew it. She was literally glowing.

I was really disappointed there was a ‘no tiara’ policy it was completely ridiculous and as beautiful as that headdress was and she did look absolutely stunning it was completely unnecessary when we have the most extensive royal jewellery collection in the world.

It doesn't make sense to me

I didn't see any fawning, I saw a lot of criticism! People on one particular thread were very vociferous! Get the tiaras out!

bottledboot · 12/11/2025 17:08

maybe the tiaras are too uncomfortable?

bottledboot · 12/11/2025 17:08

I would suffer though!

It was ridiculous. You're not going to please the Puritans 😄 get out the bling!

totallyoutnumbered · 12/11/2025 17:12

yes I’m taking the bait. I find it saddening and I also get second hand embarrassment when I see these threads. Do people really not have anything better to do than take a pic, upload it just to poke fun at someone else?. Genuinely baffles me what is to be gained. Though there’s always others to join in. Maybe I’m the weird one 🤷🏼‍♀️

I meant in the press, not on MN.

Nobody is going to become a republican just because they wore a shiny hat they’ve owned for decades/hundreds of years. Fans of the royals want to see the shiny hats.

Just crack on with the bling 🤷‍♀️. The Royals have far bigger optics problems than the Crown Jewels.

TheHappenings · 12/11/2025 17:14

Just a bit random, but I always loved this look on Meghan. She looks great in hats too.

From what I remember it was the Republicans liking the floral headpiece as they argued that wearing a tiara (and the whole coronation in general) wasn’t a good look during a cost of living crisis. I think the royal fans generally wanted the tiaras, particularly something new (ie unworn) for Catherine as they were sick of seeing her in the Cambridge Lover’s Knot that she usually rocks.

I’m pro tiaras! It’s a shame we never got to see Meghan in one after the wedding.

I’m not sure why you are posting pictures of Meghan for posters to pass comment on considering you were most distraught when posters were doing exactly that upthread, no doubt you will get terribly upset if the responses are not positive. I find it quite interesting that of all the outfits and hats she has worn you picked that particular ensemble.

I can't decide between the gold and a lovely silvery, floaty Jenny Packham she wore shortly after she and William married. And then there's the Philips Lepley dress she wore in the Bahamas. Too much choice!
