I don’t know @jeffgoldblum , because to be honest, and not to make you feel bad, I wouldn’t need it, I spend a fortune on my skincare routines. Just back from a little treatment and tweakment, even my aesthetic doctor commented on how fabulous I look, I think the Loro Piana outfit I wore today was very flattering, it showed off my perfect silhouette. I got lots of admiring glances from the other glamorous ladies in the waiting room and as I was walking to my chauffeur car, I saw several people turn their heads in awe, I try not to get conceited about it, but sometimes I do like to breathe in the appreciation, and tell myself ‘yes, I do look fabulous’.

Edited

Not offended @Thedomand to be honest myself, I don’t need it either ( I won’t toot my horn further) 🤣
but my poor mother, well I’m sad to say could do with some industrial level ironing! 😢🤣

I read a report about how he allegedly badly treated ladies that he paid for entertainment
Sounds highly plausible, and I’ve disliked H ever since

Yes well …. We don’t talk about that do we!! 😉

I agree with your comments regarding this thread. It is one thing to critique a fashion designer, or dislike an outfit, but some comments have gone far beyond that. I think the 90s is calling...

Carolina Herrera wasn't it?

Beautiful shade of red, but that's the only good thing I can say about that dress.

Yes it is ! And as red is my favourite colour normally i would like any thing in that colour but it’s a no from me!

I imagine they worry more about the Meghan obsessed group of women who have nothing better to do than repeatedly tearing down a woman that they do not know it have ever met in increasingly vitriolic ways. I mean I’m not even interested in the royal family so have little skin in the game but it must be exhausting to spend all your time picking apart other women, channel your energy elsewhere.

How about you channel your energy elsewhere and stop trying to police other women.

It’s very disheartening reading but I do think all of Mumsnet is becoming a bit of a pile on. Perhaps it’s a direct reflection on how dissatisfied people are with their lives or some underlying jealousy issues. It’s upsetting to read, women critique themselves enough as it is without others tearing them down.

As I said upthread, with some alterations, it would look great. Perhaps she could have had it made strapless - Meghan often wears strapless dresses, and she always looks good in them. Just remove the straps, take out the darts and restitch the bodice. It would actually look good strapless.

I see you have given yourself a free pass on your unpleasant comments to other posters on their appearance, I think there is a word for that….oh yes hypocrisy.

I suggest not rising to the bait, especialy when not even the minimal effort at originality is being made. C-, and that's only if I'm being generous.

Ah you see, I think it sums up what we ladies feel about being told what we can and cannot discuss!
and I would indeed like to repeat that comment to anyone who tries to police my thoughts!

I quite liked her red dress. She should have worn that. Weird choice to wear a black polo neck to a glamorous event.

Yes it’s the same old tropes isn’t it, we all have dementia was a new one though.

Good thoughts @MadeInGrimsbybut honestly that sounds like a completely different dress ! , I think the top half is not worth it , I would scrap it entirely and use the bottom as a skirt! ( if she’d worn that with the black top I believe it would look nice and stylish!)

Exactly, it isn't a healthy culture. I haven't been on MN that long, but do hear that it used to be really helpful when it was a relatively new site. It is nice to see some positive threads and amazingly supportive women on here at certain times. It is a real shame that threads like this one are not few and far between anymore.

Yes, the bodice, ugly though it is, is the only unique feature of that dress. Take that out and you're left with a bog standard red gown that you could get anywhere.

Yes, that's true. Perhaps it's just an awkward design.

You can absolutely discuss what you want to discuss but try doing it with a bit of dignity and respect.

If this thread is distressing you to the point of personally insulting other posters I suggest this isn’t the place for you.

Yes, I just don't think it's a good dress.

Not sure that red is Meghan's colour either. She looks best in rich jewel tones imo.

to date on this particular thread i havent actually said anything critical about Meghan at all !
but don’t let that stop you from making snide digs , perhaps if this thread is too sad for you the dignified thing to do would be to leave it instead of staying and making disrespectful comments to other posters.

I have been on here a good 20 years and it’s really has gone downhill. The Meghan and Harry and the Meghan verses Catherine threads highlight the worst of the worst with posters so desperately trying to assert their right to post whatever they like about whatever they choose, even if it’s just basically being really nasty for no apparent reason. And if you question it they get really annoyed and spout 1984 nonsense. The irony.

No one needs your permission or approval to post exactly as they see fit within talk guidelines, and as for dignity and respect, how about you practice what you preach, the way you have spoken to posters on here has been anything but dignified and respectful.
