To answer questions. Can they make him go if he refuses? I’m assuming not and he just won’t go?

Naively I suppose, I'm thinking let him go to the US Embassy and give his evidence there in a sworn affidavit or video link. Then release it via our media.

He probably wouldn't get out of the building - classed as US soil I believe!

This is tongue in cheek BTW, although I realise the issue is very serious indeed.

nicepotoftea · 06/11/2025 18:51

Ideally he would go scorched earth and and take everyone else down with him.

However, I don't think that will happen.

From what I have seen the main point of asking somebody to appear before Congress is to create viral clips for social media, so I'm unclear on how it would lead to justice for the victims.

After she stayed at the scene of the accident and was let go by the police. See how easy it is to tell the truth?

What on earth are you talking about? You don't get carted off to prison after a traffic accident. You get breathalysed, drug tested and told "We'll be in touch." Which is exactly what happened - she was interviewed at home the next day, admitted driving on the wrong side of the road, pulled the diplomatic immunity card and got the next flight out of Mildenhall.

How anyone can defend this utter coward is beyond me.

Zippedydodah · 06/11/2025 19:05

I presume that Congress can’t seek extradition so Mr. Teflon Windsor has nothing to worry about?
I wonder who’d pay his legal bills if he did appear before them?
Just musing….

AcquadiP · 06/11/2025 19:15

Much as I dislike AMW, it looks like he's been made the scapegoat. He's caught between a rock and a hard place. If he doesn't go, that will be seen as confirmation of his guilt. If he does go, protests his innocence but reveals the names of the wealthy, powerful men involved in Epstein's seedy world, that puts a target on his head.

waitam · 06/11/2025 19:18

Is there spin spinning around like a top now?

Poor AMW he is being scapegoated, poor Andrew - and look at all the other tossers who are getting away with it. He has been punished by the King, now let's move on.

My first thought I'm sorry to say.

ShesTheAlbatross · 06/11/2025 19:21

@OtherStotally agree. It’s noticeable that the only person convicted over this whole thing is a woman. Not that she shouldn’t have been convicted! But it’s like, yep that’s the one person they could be bothered to put the effort into going after, and we’ll leave the men alone.

Agree, only four British citizens have been held to any form of account, AMW, Sarah Ferguson, Maxwell and Mandleson.

OnlyOnAFriday · 06/11/2025 19:25

I bet he never goes on holiday to America again In His life. He’d be far too nervous of some super speedy legal decision blocking him leaving pending legal proceedings. I completely agree they need to look closer to home.

I think they're overdoing it a bit now with the obsfucation, a disgraced prince is good spin (and he is a horrid/stupid man so easy to lay the blame completely with him) but they need to focus on their actual current president/former president/Gates/former PM et al.

Im also a little disappointed they have one woman (correctly) in prison but non of the men who did the raping.....

I wonder if AMW is worried about repercussions if he names names....

SheinIsShite · 06/11/2025 19:29

I wouldn't go to a foreign country in these situations to answer questions if I wasn't legally obliged to do so. Not sure many people would, tbh.

damemaggiescurledupperlip · 06/11/2025 19:40

He’s lost everything anyway so why would he play ball?

I lost some respect for Charles when he took the ‘we’re taking your titles’ route. That was to protect the family, not punish Andrew as far as I can see. It doesn’t do the victims any good at all. And now that Andrew has lost all standing, why would he ever speak to the investigators, which might have led to some new grist for the legal mill and justice for those young women ? The proper thing for Charles to do would have been to pressurise him into following the legal procedure and see where it led.

damemaggiescurledupperlip · 06/11/2025 19:40

(Maybe Charles did, and Andrew refused)

unsync · 06/11/2025 19:44

They should summon Trump and his wife first. They should also release all the files, after all, if all the high ups are so confident they had no involvement, there's nothing to fear is there? Set an example and show some transparency.

CathyorClaire · 06/11/2025 20:11

LlynTegid · 06/11/2025 17:52

What I would like to happen is the consequence to be that he can never set foot in the US again, otherwise be arrested and forced to appear.

Andrew, the king's brother, not being able to travel would hurt him I expect.

Back in the day there were reports the French authorities were interested in interviewing him in connection with their enquiries into the Epstein affair.

If that remains the case I'd guess any European trip is out including Portugal where one of the daughters spends a lot of her time.

LunaDeBallona · 06/11/2025 20:19

The way America, the media and now congress go on you would think there was only ever Andrew MW and Epstein involved in having sex with these girls either individually or in orgies, with Maxwell procuring .
Odd isn’t it how only British people have been attacked/arrested or sent to jail.
They are so DESPERATE to go after Andrew that I too can’t abide the man but I’m starting to feel a modicum of annoyance on his behalf.
Why are congress not summoning Bill Gates, Bill Clinton and Tom Hanks as well as how many others? How long does it take for the FBI/CIA to read these files??

He promised to do all in his power to co-operate with the relevant authorities in the Newsnight interview and had the option to do precisely that for a long time afterwards.

He chose to duck, dive and endeavour to dictate the terms of his 'co-operation'.

Had he given an official interview even under the limitations he sought then he may well not have been the subject of a grandstanding 'summons' now.

At the very least it would have mitigated the impact of such a ploy.

Isn’t it time America started summoning their own VIPs from the Epstein files? I dread to think what they’re desperately trying to hide.

Well, I think that's an excellent question. Not excusing AMW, but come on, there must have been other names, other emails?

eurochick · 06/11/2025 21:01

LizzieSiddal · 06/11/2025 17:59

I think I’m starting to feel a tiny bit sorry for Mr Windsor, (only a minuscule bit) as he seems to be taking the flack for dozens of sex offenders. We want them all in front of a judge!

I sort of agree. There are likely to be many more culpable within the US borders. I’m pretty sure all the bot farms have been ordered to go heavy on Andrew. It’s the royal equivalent of “ooo look a squirrel” to distract the general public. “Oooo look over there. A prince. No no no, don’t look at me, look at him…”.

(I know he is no longer formally a prince but the principle still applies.)

Chairity · 06/11/2025 21:02

I wonder if he has any fears for his own safety. There are apparently some very powerful men involved in this who may see him as a weak link.

And Jes Staley (American citizen)

I’m beginning to feel the same way. They can summon Trump, Gates and Clinton their own home grown Epstein party goers.

They have subpoenaed Clinton.

I don’t think they are going to summon Trump because republicans won’t allow it. Now will they allow friend-of-Trump Bill Gates to be summoned.

They aren’t just after AMW and he hasn’t been singled out.

Thetruthisoutfinally · 06/11/2025 22:11

Far too many “I dislike Andrew but” posts here.

Many wrongs don’t make a right!

All of the men involved need to be prosecuted including Andrew MB.

I just want to say that Tom Hanks being a friend of Epstein is a false internet rumour and has been fact checked by Reuters and found false.

There are many that need to give answers and explanations, including Clinton (who has been summoned) but Hanks isn’t one -nothing as yet has pointed to him being involved.

Reuters fact check

Hiptothisjive · 06/11/2025 22:17

Of course they can’t make a British citizen go to a congressional hearing or answer questions to US authorities. What a crazy thing to even ask.

Think about it. Can we make someone in thr US answer questions here? Nope they tried that with social media ceos.
