To answer questions. Can they make him go if he refuses? I’m assuming not and he just won’t go?

Far too many “I dislike Andrew but” posts here.

Many wrongs don’t make a right!

All of the men involved need to be prosecuted including Andrew MB.

Not one person has excused or exonerated AMW.
Read the posts - it's about why (so far) it's only him.

waitam · 06/11/2025 19:18

Is there spin spinning around like a top now?

Poor AMW he is being scapegoated, poor Andrew - and look at all the other tossers who are getting away with it. He has been punished by the King, now let's move on.

My first thought I'm sorry to say.

I agree. My first thought too.

And they are drawing on British vs American sentiments also.

Middlemarch123 · 06/11/2025 22:21

I’ve tried to link the full letter, but unable too. It’s extremely detailed. It’s on Sky News website if anyone is interested.

BeeWitchy · 06/11/2025 22:28

Im also a little disappointed they have one woman (correctly) in prison but non of the men who did the raping.....

She did the trafficking, the enabling, and according to some victims she also did some of the raping too. She’s right where she should be as you said.

CNN —
The case against Ghislaine Maxwell primarily relied on the testimony of four women who said they were sexually abused by Jeffrey Epstein when they were under 18 – and that Maxwell facilitated and sometimes participated in that abuse, too.

the others who should be in prison are not - yet.

Prosecution links Ghislaine Maxwell to Jeffrey Epstein, while defense says she is being blamed for his actions | CNN

Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein created a “pyramid scheme of abuse” by offering cash to poor underage girls, luring them into a web of sexual abuse, prosecutors said Monday in opening statements of Maxwell’s criminal trial.

No, they can't force him to go.

They can force US citizens, living in the US, to appear.

They seem strangely reluctant to do that...

Baital · 06/11/2025 22:43

From what I remember when this all emerged AMW offered to answer written questions submitted through his lawyers. The US authorities turned this down and insisted that he travel to the US and answer questions in person.

With the result that nothing happened. It was just showmanship. I don't think there is an appetite for justice among the US authorities. Too many of their pals or political allies involved. Much more convenient to focus on a high profile (but fairly minor, politically and financially) foreigner and blame them for not co-operating.

Much as I dislike AMW, it looks like he's been made the scapegoat. He's caught between a rock and a hard place. If he doesn't go, that will be seen as confirmation of his guilt. If he does go, protests his innocence but reveals the names of the wealthy, powerful men involved in Epstein's seedy world, that puts a target on his head.

He can go into the Witness Protection Programme. No one will be expecting to see him living on a council estate in Croydon and working as an Amazon delivery driver named Steve.

He'll blend in.

Regardless of the appetite for justice among US authorities surely you want to see Andrew held to account for any wrongdoing he may have done?

Of course, and i also want a proper legal process. Not trial by media.

As I understand it he could attend and simply refuse to answer any questions that could potentially incriminate himself (which would be the sensible response from his point of view). Presumably IF anyone else gets compelled to attend that is what they will do.

So, based on the conduct of the US authorities so far, I would guess no one will be held to account. AMW won't attend - because he would be even more of an idiot than doing the Emily Maitlis interview, I think she had decent journalistic standards and genuinely wanted to get at the truth - and no one else will be called.

Then the focus will be on the British ex-prince who refused to co- operate. Very convenient, and no accountability.

Actually, US media seems to be moving on fairly quickly. AMW is well down the front page of the US edition of the Guardian. And he’s nowhere to be seen on the home page of the New York Times.

It’s more that the UK media and citizens are focused on AMW. And on two fronts. His loss of titles, connection to Epstein and questions over his trade position.

The Democrats are so close to getting the Epstein files released. They just need one extra vote, which the republicans are blocking. I feel when the files are published things will snowball in America

jumpingthehighjump · 07/11/2025 06:04

This is interesting. When the lockdown ends, and the the new democratic Senator is sworn in, the votes will be there.
This article talks about what's in them being explosive particularly with regard to Trump

I'm not sure summoning Mr M-B in the middle of a government shutdown is a good idea.

Also whilst i would want Andrew to give the police names, why are the American politicians focusing on him rather than the many many fellow countrymen who protected and were friendly with Epstein?

Because he was friends with E and G for many many years. He knows who is involved, he knows lots of information that is useful to the inquiry.

So do the many Americans who visited Epstein. The ones who Congress could successfully order to appear. They will hopefully have all the names soon so I'm still of the opinion that this is grandstanding more than anything else.

Possibly why Trump isn't trying to end the shutdown?

Middlechild3 · 07/11/2025 07:42

He needs to be called Andy Windsor really. Andrew Mountbatten Windsor is still too much.

My thoughts too. The minute it ends (so sorry for those furloughed and unpaid), Congress have to swear in the Democratic senator who won her seat at end September!
And that gives the necessary vote

And this article explains the cover up

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/nov/04/jamie-raskin-justice-department-epstein-investigation

"The information provided by this huge group of women was precise and detailed: they described how Mr Epstein, Ms Maxwell, and their co-conspirators orchestrated a sophisticated and clandestine sex trafficking conspiracy that trafficked them to at least 20 men,”

Isn’t it time America started summoning their own VIPs from the Epstein files? I dread to think what they’re desperately trying to hide.

Apparently part of the reason the government is in shutdown is because if they came back, they’d have to swear in someone who breaks the deadlock on the Epstein files. Disgusting place.

Yes my point I made.

They can't put it off forever

I think they’ll try.

it doesn’t affect Trump and his cronies. They’re not impacted by not getting paid, not getting food stamps etc. they’re openly refusing to activate the emergency funds that they could use to pay people. They’ll let it continue for as long as they possibly can because they enjoy being cruel.

Clutterbugsmum · 07/11/2025 08:03

This is just another 'look over there' moment. Because while the the press and public are discussing AW they are not looking at Trump and many other people involved.

If he does go (and I don't think he should) it needs to be done in public and not behind closed doors and he should name every one he saw and met with when with Epstein.

Serenster · 07/11/2025 08:16

Realistically, this now isn’t possible. You couldn’t have a criminal trial against him when the key witness in relation to the only sexual assault allegations against him is now dead, and her testimony therefore cannot be tested. That’s not an Andrew-specific provision, it’s a general requirement for a safe process.

Other civil cases are now long out of time.

He could of course be pursued for other potentially criminal activity in the UK - connected to his trade envoy roles etc - but that is not connected to the US.

I can imagine the Foreign Office has little interest in seeing a close relative of our Head of State being used for political manoeuvring in the US, which is essentially the reason behind this summons.

I hope so, no way did epstein and maxwell run this entire empire on their own , what about all the staff on their payroll who helped them in their sleazy operation, what's happened to them before they start going for their clients,

Keytoken · 07/11/2025 09:24

There is something very uncomfortable about them going after the Brit who never had any real power and who can decline, when there are so many powerful Americans involved, who they could actually compel to attend.
