Probably a bit of both.

I'm self employed, my profile is not nearly so high as hers but I will do some things without pay if I know it will expose me to a large audience. So say I was a fashion expert and asked to be on Sewing Bee as a guest judge, or to be a history expert on Who Do You Think You Are or something. I'd do that for zero because it will bring me business.

Meghan doesn't need that sort of profile raising but is probably trying to remind everyone that she acted which has been lost in the noise over Harry, Oprah and the rest of it. So that the next time they're casting for a part she might be suitable for, they think of her.

Sarah Ferguson did something similar she did a cameo in friends. So this sounds spot on for Megan's trajectory. £30 million wedding, huge welcome from the public, strops out, disgraces themselves with lies dodgy charity ventures failed businesses and now sunk low enough to make a cameo in a tiny bit film. At least Fergie was in the biggest amazing hit of its time at least we learnt that shrimping 🤑meant toe sucking from Fergie.
