Could everyone please stop piling on Spectre8 who has as much right to post here as any other poster. It’s really unpleasant and unnecessarily rude.

We're not piling on @Spectre8, we're asking every participant of this very tedious sideshow if they could possibly just let it go.

What is interesting is the aggressively vociferous defence team gathering here. The new PR strategy is in full flow it seems.

Yeah bc none of us can actually read the news or look at sm and form our own independent opinions! And if we do, we certainly shouldn’t express them? Is that what you mean?

Aggressive PR campaign is working = just another way to try and stop posters with whom you disagree, from posting.

Ditto = oooh (cue disingenuous surprise) aren’t there lots of name changers!

We’ve seen it all before.

If H & M do have an aggressive PR campaign, and I certainly hope that they do in this climate, then that is no different to the Royals, who as we now know, played a blinder covering up for Andrew for years!

bubzie · 08/11/2025 10:07

I think the word you're searching for is a desperate PR campaign. How many relaunches has MM had. It's mind blowing. Nothing ever sticks.

Indianrollerbird · 08/11/2025 10:13

I’ve just clicked that when Meghan muscled in on her “friend’s” interview at Godmothers, she was wanging on about packing candles in her luggage wherever she goes, and lo and behold, candles on sale at Godmothers. Funny how she didn’t pack a candle on WLM when she taught grandma to suck eggs everyone how to pack a case.

BalloonSlayer · 08/11/2025 10:15

Doobedobe · 07/11/2025 12:50

Let's just think about this.
Megan marries her love of her life. She is an independant woman, made her own name and a few million but was swept off her feet by a prince no less. Hubby is a spoiled rich kid, a prince. He has some money and entitled to a lot of stuff, has not really had a proper job apart from a short stint in the army. Despite all the money in the world, he still didnt really get good grades or make much of his own money. He was a party boy but not really much else.
Megan tries to live his way of life, she is restricted in what she can wear, say and do, hates it and moves back home to the US.
They try to build a life, make money themselves as they were cut off from the royal finances. Mostly driven by Megan, as she has experience in media and film making. Dh is useless and still doesnt do much to help.
Her DH is a useless idiot, flauntering about not really making much of anything.
Everything she does or tries to do is now scrutinised and shot down. Hubby is still doing pretty much fuck all. Because of her marriage to him, she is now has a security risk on her family and can't now go back to her normal life anyway.
She now has to pick up the pieces, and decides it's time to go back to work properly as DH is a useless spoiled prince who until he met her had never even cooked a roast chicken himself.
Megan is now the breadwinner and likely picking up the lions share in house duties, child rearing and managing the household finances. Like many of us, stuck with a pretty useless DH for the sake of the kids.

Like a pp, I would completely agree with this were it not for the lies. Even some of the lies I could forgive as misunderstandings but the one about the Archbishop of Canterbury marrying them in their back garden 3 days before their wedding is completely indefensible (though many try to defend it!). Were it not for that one, filmed and recorded for posterity, spectacular lie I would happily agree that everything people criticise Meghan for is actually down to Harry.

Harry and Meghan’s titles are everything to them, in the same way that they were everything to Andrew and Sarah. Take them away and yes, he will be related by blood but they will both become pretty irrelevant quite quickly. He could merch himself out as plain old ‘the Kings younger brother’ but I can’t see him being happy to do that given that he still has issues around sausages and bigger bedrooms!

Hopefully Harry will come to his senses and see that he is better off without titles. I can understand him in a way wanting to preserve some of his heritage for his children, as most of us try to do, but I agree it would be better if he were to voluntarily make a clean break and find a useful role for himself.

I think he is probably still hurting and upset that an adapted half in, half out role couldn’t be found for him when let’s face it, and as Lownie points out, Andrew (and Fergie in a way) were living a half in and half out lifestyle for years with the apparent approval of the late QE2!

No wonder Harry was confused when he saw Andrew being given such free rein!

it’s a great shame that it’s come to this though as Harry was really good at his job and very good at putting the general public at ease. I also think he didn’t quite realise how ruthless the RF and establishment can be when they close the circle of wagons around the crown. Shame the RF couldn’t adapt to modern times.

It’s what H&M should have done from the off. Become Mr & Mrs Markle and gone their own way, done their own projects without the need to attack their families. They’d have garnered a lot of respect and remained golden. Instead, they tried to set up a rival court, and an aura of permanent victimhood, and it’s failed, or at least looks desperate and foolhardy most of the time.

It’s interesting the revisionist history Meghan has tried to push in her most recent interview about spending 5 years being quiet and healing or however she put it. Telling lies and scheming, more like it! I don’t know why she thinks people don’t remember everything they’ve done since leaving, but being wrong for not having amnesia seems to be part of the current attack strategy against their critics.

Edit to add, I agree with you that the titles are all they have, and they will cling to them for dear life. I also agree with pp that they probably will carry on using them, even if they are stripped. They will look pathetic, but that ship has sailed.

NewAgeNewMe · 08/11/2025 10:34

I can’t remember if it’s on this thread or another that I said Meghan is so famous now she doesn’t need the Duchess title. If I was her I’d be Meghan Markle. Own it and then if William does take the title away, then it wouldn’t really matter. For Harry, as for Andrew, both born royal princes I suspect it does matter.

Petitchat · 08/11/2025 10:36

Indianrollerbird · 08/11/2025 09:47

Just ignore them. Xxx

Ignore "them"
Do you mean the posters who disagree with you and have a different opinion?

How to close down debate....
Ignore them.

I don’t think he will be better off and I think he knows this (and so does Meghan).

I agree. And drop the titles now, so that if/when titles are removed, she can just shrug it off as neither here nor there to her.

However, someone who gives gifts of jam and ice-cream to dear friends with a grandiose “HRH D of S” calling card, and who has customised her luggage with a gigantic “DS”, doesn’t seem like the type of person who is unbothered by their title and thinks they can get by without it.

Not now, no. But that’s because they spent 5 years spectacularly fucking up and creating a bad image for themselves. If they had quietly left the RF and dropped the titles in 2020, and got on with some decent projects without monetising a false victim narrative, they would have remained very popular, I reckon. Now the titles are the only thing opening the doors, I agree.

She’s not famous, she’s infamous, very different, hence no one invites her anywhere high end

.💯
They were financially very comfortable, they would have earned more respect and had more success if they had gone and done their own thing, focus on charity work and good causes etc which is what they both said they wanted to do. The whinging and victimhood model was such a bad move, but they are too far down that rabbit hole now that they have no choice but to keep digging (which is, as it turns out, something Harry is actually very good at, who knew!).

You're not allowed to edit with additional sentences, as far as I know. Editing is for spelling mistakes.

But I won't report you because that would be as petty as some of the posts on here.
So don't worry...

Harry is royal by birthright if titles can be taken away well why cant we just decide who should be a king, a prince, a princess etc. The whole point was it was based on birthright. Sure I agree strip a title away if you have done something as heinous as Andrew but otherwise if we are taking them away for just any old reason then I'd rather have a say in voting for who should be represting us and wanting someone who is actually going to work for it and ensure finances are transparent.

Well it depends, if H&M have been racketeering off charities like sentabale then maybe that would evoke another castration of titles

Are you sure about the sentences. I’m always editing as I have fat fingers and often have to correct stuff and add things in I’d forgotten rather than doing a new post.

As long as it says Edit I don’t really see the problem. But an interesting point that had not occurred to me.

Just wondered why you thought that post was necessary, it doesn’t reflect well on you. I think your post could be classed as ‘goady’ which is against MNHQ posting guidelines, I believe.

Are you going to add anything useful to the discussion?

Petitchat · 08/11/2025 11:19

Because of all the info from all the Meghan followers on here, I've been able to go and look at the extra things myself.
So thanks for that.

For example, Fringe on YouTube. Never heard of it before so that was interesting. Enjoyed her acting, looking forward to her doing more.

Thanks again.
