Why is there more online vitriol towards Megan Markle than Andrew?

ladykale · 22/10/2025 10:21

I find it ridiculous how there is consistent hate towards Megan markle when she does pretty low key things like launching jam that no one is being forced to buy. People were delighted that she is no longer using HRH titles and even said she shouldn’t call herself the Duchess of Sussex (even though that is distinct from royal titles).

On the flip side - NO ONE has called for an actual investigation into Prince Andrew on the days that he claimed to be at Pizza Express in Woking, when his movements are logged by the royal gamily and his security detail so they eill
know exactly where he was!

He slept with an underage victim of sex trafficking who
conveniently died by suicide shortly before her memoir naming and shaming many individuals came out.

Limited criticism of the late Queen who used £12million
pg her personal money to pay off an underage sec trafficking victim & shielded him from any investigation.

Disgusted by it all and was amused to see the vitriol on an article about Megan breathing, whereas limited calls for Andrew to be investigated by any U.S or UK authorities!

WHY?

Easy, one word: racism.

SisterTeatime · 27/10/2025 08:33

Some posters seem to labour under the delusion that anyone who criticises Meghan and Harry is some sort of super-royalist. If you think that, a lack of interest in Andrew would be harder to understand - even though it’s still a silly argument because a) there is plenty of interest in Andrew b) the anti-Sussex people don’t defend, condone or excuse Andrew and c) I don’t see royalists of any stripe saying ‘yes Prince Andrew is completely fine, if we have a royal family they can do what they like, look over there at Meghan and Harry’.

You may think I am shockingly lowbrow but for me, Meghan and Harry provide entertainment with their bizarre behaviour and choices. It’s fun to read what others think about them.

🙄 that’s just a weak use of a powerful word just to shut people down. It’s been said on this thread that there are loads of threads about the disgusting PA, from many angles. I don’t recall seeing many, if any, that are supportive of him. MM and PH actively promote themselves, put loads of stuff in the press, most of which is to promote themselves or to put others down, and of course, to try to get their own way (mainly PH and his need for greed / self importance) … I’m sure some people don’t like either PA, MM or PH due to racism, but the majority just see bad behaviours and call them out

Firstly, the comment about ‘racism’ from the PP was clearly pointed to the MN posters, not the monarchy being racist.
secondly, that is hardly an unbiased group! You need a bit more critical thinking in your responses

Given your ranting about how others post, @ChatHeeBeeGez6298, is there a reason that you are nowhere to be seen on the Andrew threads?

Yes, because 50 something me wished the ugly, thick, racist, much younger Harry had spotted me in the queue at TK Maxx, decided this old P* scrubs up well, and asked me to rub Elizabeth Arden onto his todger, whilst singing to seals and channelling his mother in a downward dog pose. My envy knows no limits! Us brown girls will take any white man - thick, racist, addict, mental health patient, mother fixated, it really doesn’t matter. Our own accomplishments mean nothing if we’re not bagging a Harry 🙄

Jealousy?! I thought Hazza was desperate to get hitched but ladies kept turning him down?! Harry really isn’t a prize of any merit, can you imagine trying to have an intelligent conversation with him? Would you just cringe when going out with him, his w entitlement, superior narcissistic ways he approaches anyone who dares say no, toy throwing, drug habit .. I’m very happy to be married to my more ordinary man, 30 years of mainly happiness, a few bruises along the way we tackled together … as for that comment about Dr C not being the most inportant poc on stage …. What the fuck does Markle bring to the world that’s so fabulous?! At least Sophie has a great track record in her career, hasn’t relied on marrying, hateful mud slinging drip fed to the papers for her own PR. Sophie has just done her job, she said no, and they don’t like it!

Indianrollerbird · 27/10/2025 13:55

Why wouldn’t Sophie Chandauka want to be the centre of attention at her own event? Why wouldn’t this beautiful, highly accomplished, African chair of an African charity, to which her family is a large donor, want to be at the heart of an event she organised? Is this some sort of reverse feminism/covert racism? Accomplished black woman needs to stand back, and let a gatecrasher who has no role within the organisation or the event other than “wife”, dictate the proceedings. Exactly who are the racists here, because it’s not those of us who support Ms Chandauka.

My2cents1975 · 27/10/2025 14:25

IMHO, the real racists have given themselves away with their own comments.

"blue blue blue eyes"

"I actually really, genuinely thought at the beginning of my relationship [with Meghan] that should this go the distance and we have kids that there's no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife's genes, but I was wrong!"

"She's not black or anything, you know."

Indianrollerbird · 27/10/2025 14:39

Yes quite. Why should Harry’s genes have to “stand up” to Meghan’s? Are her African American genes aggressors? What’s he afraid of? Doesn’t he like her brown eyes, Afro hair and olive skin? Why wouldn’t you want your children to inherit the beautiful genes of their mother and grandmother and look like them? Why did he express relief (on the Colbert show) that his colouring prevailed? Why do all the Sussex supporters who complain about a “too white” royal balcony think the Sussexes themselves want it to be any less white, when they make comments like these?

Tiredofbullsit · 27/10/2025 17:49

ChatHeeBeeGez6298 · 27/10/2025 06:10

I find this post both typical and extraordinary!

I know the regular critics of the Sussexes genuinely believe themselves to be

“informed, inquiring, polite, and literate”

but in all honesty, speaking as a poster who when posting generally across Mumsnet, tries quite hard not to insult people, I have never come across more goading, condescension and closed minds than when on the royal threads.

Most people out in the rational world do think it is surprising that MM is still appearing in the headlines of many tabloids and as the subject of many podcasts, is still written and spoken about by the usual culprits, even though there is, contrary to the very convenient rhetoric on here, so much to discuss about Andrew. The invective waged against her is obsessive and disproportionate.

Just finding yourself of the same opinion as Piers Morgan should normally be enough for people to question themselves surely?

And speaking of Andrew; there is so much more to say and find out; eg how much did the late QE2 and the then Prince Charles know, who in the RF was responsible for covering up his illegal activities carried out by him when he was funded by tax-payers and acting as trade envoy, even when proof was brought to them by diplomats and politicians and complaints had been made about him in the FO, what did Andrew give in return for the money he received in murky deals with dodgy international businessmen, ditto the Chinese spy, where is he getting the money to pay for Royal Lodge now, should he face charges for his corrupt behaviour, when can this be discussed in the H of C, should the RF continue to be responsible for managing their own finances without more outside checks and more transparency and accountability, to name but a few subjects for discussion?

But no, there is nothing further to discuss about Andrew apparently! Nothing at all! So let’s continue to have a dig at Meghan! It’s laughable honestly!

And most reasonable people see through it and understand that even now, all of these years on, criticism of MM is being used as a useful distraction away from pertinent questions being asked about whether some key members of RF see themselves as above the law?

The Meghan and Harry lovers are generally the ones firing the insults because they don’t have the ability to generate a reasoned point!

Tell me then please, why is her trip to a pumpkin patch attracting so much criticism?
It’s a perfectly innocent trip out such as any family with young dc would do. Hardly worthy of snide comment I would have thought?

Her outfit is obviously more worthy of comment than whether Andrew will face criminal charges! 😁

I neither know nor care. I’ve avoided it.
