What about Beatrice & Eugenie?

I’m not sure what to think tbh. On one hand they must be so so mortified; on the other they enjoy all the perks of Royalty and their position in the RF despite their revolting father.

How do you see it?

Give that Beatrice advised Andrew to do Newsnight,

Did she know what he would be asked or how he would answer?

I mean to a point I can see that she loves her dad, probably believed him & thought he could explain things well enough.

I wonder if she realised that he come across as a lying pompous sleaze?

I’d expect her to have true understanding of both parents strengths & weaknesses. Is the reality they are on a pedestal as not really involved with raising their children? ‘Darling I am very honourable’ would cause a raised eyebrow you’d think…& a knowledge he simply wasn’t smart enough to be unscathed by Maitless.

Says every nonce everywhere.

Hear, hear.

Jesus, talk about victim blaming!

It's hard to know isn't it?

I mean I wasn't blind to my parent's faults.

But they didn't have such a facade when at work as the Windsors do.

If he spoke in any way as he did in the interview it's mind boggling that she thought it was a good idea.

I think we’d, as adults, surely see through our parents work facade. With PA ordering staff around & treating them with contempt, you’d have a good sense of their character too. The odds are you too privately absorb a sense of superiority. Some are better at hiding it than others.

I think it's interesting that Bea is strutting about maintaining a business as usual public profile while Euge appears to have gone to ground.

No idea what it all means though 🙃

That Eugenie has potentially more of a grasp on the mood of the moment?

Am not sure whether B is legitimately where Press say she is. The focus & heat poss disproportionally on B?

I miss the Windsors. Such a great program. Johnny is a billionaire!

I've been watching bits on YouTube, the Andrew and Fergie scenes are spot on, he is a sleazy perve given to nasty practical jokes while she is wafting around forever on the scrounge and looking for freebies. B and E in their fascinaaatoors are perfection.

KnickerlessParsons · 10/11/2025 23:37

Isn’t Eug living in Portugal?

ThatCalmFinch · 10/11/2025 23:41

Neither have gone to ground, B was in the middle east a couple of days ago some publicity thing last week and E was posting pics of herself on a girls weekend in Paris, they both were 'papped' yesterday in Mayfair and it very much appeared to be deliberate, they were not trying to keep a low profile.

A year ago the two sisters were reported to be the Royal family’s latest secret weapons.

The tabloid style media really needs to retire that phrase.

If her father is no longer Duke of York, and the title is in abeyance, how can Beatrice style herself Princess Beatrice of York?

Serenster · 11/11/2025 11:00

Because that’s how she has been styled since birth. If her father had died and the Duke of York title had reverted to the Crown, she would still have been called Princess Beatrice of York.

(Also, it’s a helpful distinguishing factor. See Henry VII who married Elizabeth of York - except her father Edward IV had been dead for 5 years or so when they married and she was then Queen Elizabeth for many years afterwards - but still known as Elizabeth of York)

I think it was part of Andrew's negotiation to go hide himself away on a Royal Estate. Let daughters keep titles

Personally I think York anything is toxic and I'm surprised they wouldn't want to ditch it and start afresh. But I suppose that won't work over in the middle East where they are styling themselves as some sort of Ambassador with all the oligarchs and royals there, Princess Beatrice of York etc

CrimsonStoat · 11/11/2025 13:51

I read something earlier, a hagiographic piece, that said when she married she chose to drop the of York to become Princess Beatrice, Mrs Mapelli Mozzi.
Lost track of where I read that. So she isn't 'of York' anymore.

Thats what happens when Princesses marry, rather than being her choice.

Princess Alexandra stopped being "of Kent" when she became HRH Princess Alexandra, The Honourable Mrs Angus Ogilvy.

Had their father not become King then QEII and Princess Margaret would have dropped their "of York" when they added their married title at the end of their Princess one.

It was odd that the invitation to the tea thing still referred to Beatrice as "of York" and with no mention of her married name. That said "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice, Mrs Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi" is a bit long winded for ok an invitation with two or three other hosts also named😂

I feel no sympathy for him.

Me neither. And I can think of 12 million (allegedly) reasons why I have no sympathy for him.

Ohpleeeease · 11/11/2025 14:42

If your parents have loved you and treated you well it’s very hard to see that they might behave entirely differently towards other people. There’s no reason why they would have been aware of their parents’ failings if they weren’t exposed to them.

We can’t know what conversations they had with their parents once Epstein’s crimes were known. You’d like to think they were more questioning at that point.

I’ve wondered whether social services would have spoken to those girls, if their father wasn’t who he was.

I was about to say, just “Princess Beatrice” would probably have sufficiently identified her - then remembered that there is a Princess Beatrix (former Queen of the Netherlands) also out and about, and the spelling difference might be too subtle for many 😀

KnickerlessParsons · 11/11/2025 16:46

Isn't she also now the Countess of somewhere in Italy, bu dint of being married to the Count Eduardo?

MannersAreAll · 11/11/2025 17:08

The first line of her father-in-law's Wikipedia is that he is the father in law of Princess Beatrice.

If I was an Olympian and someone made that the first line of my wiki I'd be raging 😂

Reminds me of the Windsors Beatrice ‘Is York an actual place, I thought it was like Narnia’… :)

According to the media many a royal has been a 'secret weapon' at one time or another.

Family's positively bristling with 'em 😀
