I’m not sure what to think tbh. On one hand they must be so so mortified; on the other they enjoy all the perks of Royalty and their position in the RF despite their revolting father.

How do you see it?

I feel zero sympathy for Andrew. He chose to get in with Epstein and prey on vulnerable young girls...even allegedly commenting that Virginia was close in age with his own daughters. IMHO, Andrew is a complete failure on multiple levels.

As a Husband, he failed Fergie. Given Anne and more particularly Charles had married there was a template for engagements costs. Compare the then assumed future Queen (as we thought Diana would be) and her modest blue suit to the overdone, wildly expensive engagement ballgown in Andrew and Sarah's official engagement photos! From the outset Andrew enabled Fergie's reckless habits as they both lived well beyond their means due to their envy of KC3 and his Duchy of Cornwall money.

As a father, Andrew failed his daughters by promoting associations with the vile Epstein such as inviting Epstein and his wicked associates to milestone moments including birthdays and weddings. He used his daughter's bank accounts for unexplained gifts, etc. further ensnaring his children.

As a veteran, he failed the Armed Forces his actions bringing disrepute to this vital national security organisation. As a member of various orders including the Order of the Garter, Andrew brought disrepute to every organisation with which he was involved.

As a Prince of the Realm, he failed both of his Sovereigns (the late Queen and his brother KC3) and all the Realms based on the oaths he freely swore.

Finally, Andrew had the ultimate agency for his own actions. He more than made his bed. He can jolly well lie in it!

This. Nothing on earth will make me feel sympathy for the man on this matter. But had he shown any true remorse, given a genuine apology, not lied repeatedly and used his time and power to help the Virginia Giuffre's of this world then I would feel something towards him. But I'm baffled by the PPs expressions of hints of sympathy because the man does not give AF.

I did say “almost”! And only because he’s the only one in the firing line and that’s wrong. It feels as if VG was fixated on going after Andrew but not the legion of other abusers because he was an easy target.

He’s beneath contempt. Arrogance personified. A boorish, crude, depraved, debauched, entitled, lying arsehole. He’s irredeemable. I want to see the book thrown at others too!

It's never occurred to me before but reading that excellent summary I now think he is effectively our equivalent of one of Jeffery's other BFFs, Trump.

I think he is, and I left out ‘stupid’!

KnickerlessParsons · 27/10/2025 17:59

Totally agree with the pompous/arrogant/boorish/etc descriptions of him.
My almost sympathy for him is because he’s all of those things, and particularly stupid.
Stupid enough and arrogant enough to believe JE’s flattery and that JE wanted to be his friend, when all JE really wanted was to use his connections and create a possibility for blackmail.
You can’t help being born stupid.
I absolutely agree that what he (probably) did was unforgivable and deplorable but only a stupid, arrogant person would allow themselves to get into that position and then keep on digging.

Yes, stupid and pathetic in believing that Epstein wanted him for anything but to use him! You would think a man in Andrew’s position should have been wary! But there we come back to the arrogance!

I firmly agree that the book needs to be thrown at all of the others.

A 17-year old may think they are grown but anyone above the age of 30 can look back and see just how naive they were at 17. These manipulated girls/young woman were in no position to really understand what was being done to them and the life-long consequences. But these grown men and women did...but did not care at all.

Bill Clinton was at an NYC Gala event last week handing out an award. He has suffered no consequences from his interactions with Epstein...and will likely get a full Presidential funeral courtesy of the overburdened US taxpayer.

As for Trump...least said soonest mended. Another ongoing drain on the US taxpayer.

And that is not counting the others...politicians, billionaires, movie moguls, professors, models, actors, royalty from EU/Asia/Africa etc. who all chose to partake of Epstein's evil.

I have no expectations that these evil human predators will get their due but hope that justice/karma meets them in some way.

That do stand on their own 2 feet. They both have jobs, they aren’t funded by the royal family or tax payer. Maybe they are funded a bit from their parents, I don’t know.

It has been reported that they got lots of business contracts when they accompanied their father on tax-payer funded jaunts when he was trade envoy. However, it has all been hushed up because the documents from that time have been sealed. They are also exempt from Freedom of Information requests. These documents should be released for scrutiny.

It wasn’t that Virginia Guiffre was ‘fixated’ on Andrew.

I’m not a lawyer obviously, but as I understand it, it was Andrew doing the Newsnight interview (and presumably, what he said) that gave Virginia and her lawyers the grounds to bring the civil case against him.

Others she named have listened to their (much better?) advisors, I imagine, and not said anything that could have opened up their lives and actions to examination - as yet.

Because of course no tourist come here for the history, the countryside, the beaches, the world famous contributions to music, art and literature, they only visit in the vain hope of catching a glimpse of the royals!

Yes, and France don’t get any tourists !!

It's such a lame reason to keep this ridiculous, outdated, parasitic family as royals, isn't it? Paris gets more tourists than London, and they guillotined their lot.

Getting rid of the lot of them (I am not advocating the guillotine, just retirement and the disappearance of the whole idea of the monarchy for good) would be a definite positive for the country. Historical interest for sure. Relevant in 2025? Dont be ridiculous. Keep the historical artifacts etc, get rid of the stupid hats etc. It's not just about one sex offending creep, loathsome though he is. The whole show has reached the end of the road. Or should have.

I agree with this and I also think he seems to have had a different view on suitable friendships than say, Charles and his sons.

I don't know much about it but PA seems to have surrounded himself with celebrity girlfriends, well known names as friends, sought out influential business contacts etc and doesn't appear to have had many people around him with his best interests at heart. His ex wife may have done but she is a total liability.

Charles and William on the other hand have retained extremely close personal friendships through their lives, often from school or childhood etc. these families are seen with them time and time again and are named as godparents, they are ushers at wedding etc. far less likely to go astray in a way.
The Palmer Tompkinsons, the van Cutsems etc.

Harry too to an extent but obviously his situation has now evolved.

Wasn’t Charles very friendly with Jimmy Saville ? His own uncle Lord Mountbatten was a very big part of his life too (just saying).

I don't think he 'took everybody in'.

I think very many people were fully aware of what was going on, but chose to turn a blind eye. Much like those that visited JE island.

That doesn't prove they didn't know.

We know that the BBC haven't always been upstanding on many issues.

Interesting article in the times today regarding B and E - archived version here https://archive.ph/2xfTA

B must be doing super well in her career if she has access to a chauffeur driven Range Rover.

CrimsonStoat · 30/10/2025 07:28

The sisters have flown under the radar somewhat haven't they?

When you think they have a half-in half-out arrangement you wonder why others can't. They seem to have the best of both worlds. Lovely main homes alongside "grace and favour" apartments in London. Private lives and a bit of royal work occasionally.
