One of Emily’s friends has been quoted saying it was her choice and she’s made of tough stuff so she wouldn’t have left if it wasn’t terrible.

If there was any truth in the projects excuse then it would have been announced up front as a temporary projects role (to avoid speculation when she left) and she wouldn’t have deleted reference to it on LinkedIn.

what’s vaguely interesting in that is when talking about demystifying things, she says it helps break the ice. That suggests to me she’s not getting many visitors who are actually friends - who needs to break the ice with their friends for god’s sake!

Meredith might be on a huge retainer, stick it out for x years and leave with a nice lump sum bonus. I imagine they have to do that now to hire and retain staff, some people will forego the cash when it becomes untenable.

I did that once for 6 months in a job I detested, every day I contemplated leaving, but I would remind myself of the nice chunk of cash coming my way at the end of it.

I defend Meghan a lot but I really do wish she would drop this image she clings to that she is any way above others and that everyone is in awe of her. She is a celebrity and those who have to work with or write about celebrities approach them with care and flatter them because they tend to be a bit tricky to deal with. There is no mystery involved.

That’s a very good point, and it also relates to how people she rates as friends are usually merely acquaintances. The guests on her show, some of whom she was only meeting for the first time on camera, the designer guy, etc

I was just struck at that photo of Lilibet in the article where Meghan is cuddling her. She's Harry's double - and he's all Windsor.

If only I had known I could have spouted this stuff I could perhaps have made a fortune, in years gone by. I had a blanket for DS when he was feeling poorly on the sofa for the purposes of comfort . I used it myself. Also taking a charger when travelling - genius - have been doing it for years . What I will give her , is that never having married into the RF myself, I don't consider people who I have actually invited into my house will be overawed by me. She averaged 90 seconds per episode, and seems to have spent a lot of screen time being sexually objectified. How many A listers and heads of state had William and Catherine met at that point? Would it be likely that they'd be bowled over by a minor actress from a virtually unknown cable show, even if they did watch the show? I don't know anyone who had heard of her when the relationship was announced, let alone the higher echelons of royalty being fans of hers. I think Henry is probably confusing polite or even enthusiastic welcome for fandom.

I watched the video of the “ Meghan’s tips for answering the door barefoot and be-apronned, and getting your guests to help themselves to spiced cider”. It was unintentionally very revealing.

The guest speaker, Meghan’s old friend and the author whose book was being promoted, paused in what she was saying. Meghan then interjected with the answering the door anecdote. After 18 seconds the main speaker put her microphone back to her mouth to carry on what she had been saying. She waited, microphone held to her mouth, for 30 whole seconds before realising that Meghan wasn’t going to finish speaking any time soon and so she put her microphone down again. A minute after that, Meghan finally wound up her interjection…
