The royal family

Why is Meghan hated?

1000 replies

YourBrickTiger · 07/10/2025 13:26

I have very strong views about the Royals especially Camilla, however I am genuinely interested and want to find out more as to why Meghan Markle seems to be so hated. I'm asking in case there is something I have missed. I do read up as much as I can and watch shows from 'both sides' of the argument, but there is nothing that I have seen so far that warrants the level of sheer hatred geared towards her - I don't mean on here necessarily, but on social media in general. She cannot do ANYTHING without a swarm of people descending on her like vampires to tear her apart.

She isn't an adulteress, she's not a paedophile or sex offender, she isn't lazy, she seems to genuinely care about people in need.....and from what has been shown, she genuinely loves Harry and is just trying to make a life with him. He left the UK to start a life away from a nest of some awful people, his mother died when he was 12, his uncle is a sex offender, there is racism and a rigid set of rules within that family where he won't be king anyway so what is wrong with him leaving?

I'm not starting this to start an argument I am genuninely interested in why she is so rabidly disliked and why? Maybe I will start to feel differently if there is more of a reason but at the moment I cannot see one?

When you strip everything away; the insult to the Queen (surely the real insult is her pedophile son), her supposed insult to Kate…blah blah blah. It really comes down to racism. But it’s a complex racism if she was a movie star/TV actress who married a well-known celebrity no one would batter an eyelid.

But people view the royal family as theirs, it’s institutionally British. It also possess that same allure as the lottery the ‘it could be you’. And Meghan Markle is not you. She’s not institutionalised, and she’s not ‘ours’ With the royal family comes a hierarchy, a class system, and black people are below white people in that class system. Because the class system is solely and firstly the property of the white man, colonialisation taught us that.

Look at the controversy that Märtha Louise marriage to an African man caused. White woman being fooled and duped by black man; equally Harry’s the white man fooled and duped by the black woman. History has indoctrinated into us that Africans are beneath us and lesser, yet they possess this voodoo ability to dupe and fool the white man. These white people have no agency they must have been fooled into it.

Unfortunately, it’s a racism. It’s a complex one but at its core it’s racism.

You really beleive most people have taken issue with Megan’s bullying, lies etc, as she’s a mixed race mother and white father? I don’t beleive that to be the case.

I really get pissed off that she’s using my country, my RF and my monarchy, public money to lie, cheat, bully, sell herself with, etc … not going through the list of things again, a country that she’s slated, lied about, manipulated and treated dreadfully, and off the back of everything she’s greedily gobbled up, she’s expecting to carve name for herself off the back of it all!! Before she slept with and snagged the dim prince, she wasn’t on anyone’s radar, the RF and her marriage is all she’s got and she exploits it - that’s what I really get annoyed about, and so what if I call her out on this on threads about her or both of them?

Edited

Yet all of these things are exactly what your 'queen' has done, what your king has done, what Andrew and many other royals have done. Sorry to harp on about Camilla Parker Bowels but she used the RF, she used every single bit of clout she had with them to get ahead - she is a manipulator a cheat and a racist bully. Andrew is a proven sex offender. Why is that ok???? PUBLIC MONEY?! The royals are a bunch of freeloaders taking money off everyone while people are lying dying of the cold right under their noses. Say what you like about Meghan but at least she has a clue and wouldn't watch that happen. She'd strive to do something about it. The royals just sit behind the curtains and make people THINK they are doing something about it. There is something seriously wrong in the world when people with that amount of wealth just carry on and people are literally dying of hunger. It isn't right whatever your stance on the monarchy is and it continues to baffle me that Meghan is pulled up for things that the royals have been at for years.

But she didn't insult the Queen - at least not on purpose. Surely it was as clear as crystal that Meghan was mocking her own ability to perform a curtsey?

Goodness, you fall into the category of superfan really.

Because he's a man

YourBrickTiger · 08/10/2025 14:47

Well he did say he wanted to live inside her trousers to be close to her at all times. While he was married to Diana. But it's ok because he's the king.

It's ok because it was a private conversations between two lovers that was never meant for public consumption - it was an illegally intercepted exchange sold to a tabloid, no better than hacking. Lovers say things in private that they never would in public and, if they did, the whole world would cringe. Has your life been that dull that you've never said something silly to a lover?

God of course I have. But I'm not a member of the RF. If Meghan had said something like it, (and you don't need to get personal about my lovers thanks), she would probably be in the Tower of London along with Fergie's toe sucking antics. Charles no. All ok, because of who he is. But it's good that there were exposed for the two stinkers that they are and for the lies they had told before and after this.

Right, so no member of the royal family can have a private, intimate conversation in case it's illegally intercepted and put in the tabloids? What's Harry going to court over then?

Not the point. Point is they were having an affair which they lied about. It's still adultery whatever way you look at it. I wish they were tampons so I could flush them both down a disposal chute.

Well yes, if you are going to criticise posters for having a go at Harry for making things up, and ask for evidence, and they provide you with the evidence that he did indeed make it up, then a thanks is a courtesy.

Aethelredtheunsteady · 08/10/2025 15:14

@ozarina I didn’t mean to imply that you had made any racial commentary - apologies if it came across that way.

My point is that there has been racial undertones to the coverage and vitriol thrown at Meghan. The straight outta Compton headline. A poster on this thread saying that ‘she doesn’t know if she’s black or white’ etc etc. It frustrates me when posters claim it doesn’t exist. I just feel the constant slagging Meghan off over literally everything she does emboldens parts of society who have an issue with her that’s far more unpleasant than the way she holds her jam tongues.

So? It's not actually illegal to have an affair. When did they lie about it? Were they asked to go on public record and denied it? Please do provide the evidence if they did.

Do you know that Diana actually broke the marriage vows first and had at least 7 affairs pre divorce? She even harassed the wife of one of her lovers, plaguing her with phone calls. Do you think all of that should have been in the press at the time - after all, she was going to be the future queen?

That's not correct. As I have said - and yes thank you for the evidence earlier - Camilla was in the background the entire time. Before marriage, at wedding, during marriage, during honeymoon. Even if they were not sexual, it is STILL infidelity which I'm fairly certain you'd disapprove of if you were a wife/partner/husband. Even if Diana started having sex outside marriage can you seriously fault her after what they were doing to her? They tormented her, tortured her with what they were doing. She loved Charles. She would not have cheated had he not had that woman in the background. It just doesn't wash to place the blame on Diana who wanted her marriage to work. It's wrong. Camilla and Charles are the responsible ones here.

As for future queen, the current excuse for one manipulated Diana at 19 years of age to her 33 into a friendship so she could stay close to Charles. Had nicknames for them - Gladys and Fred - and gave him cufflinks before his honeymoon. Future queen ladies and gents - classy!

You’re proving my point though because a white man’s lie is admissible he can lie that he doesn't sweat which is made into a memes 1000x over and ultimately viewed as funny, silly, and stupid. His just a silly, rich white man easily duped and fooled. Charles lying about the nature of his relationship with Camilla even after the tapes were released he continued the lie. Yet a black woman who lies is nasty, vicious, evil, and calculated. And you tell yourself she’s mixed race therefore easy fodder?

Sorry to break this to you but it’s racism. I’m sure in 20 years time the very journalist writing about her now will be doing interviews, about how they were pushed to dig up and regurgitate any dirt on Meghan. And it will probably come to light that the royal press offices gave free rein to journalists on the Meghan topic, yet you misprint anything on Camilla ‘Camilla at pie’ and there will soon be an apology/retraction from the papers/magazine.

I predict the Meghan topic will be one of the biggest conversations about institutional racism in the future.

You really are warming to your theme, and ignoring anything that doesn’t fit the narrative you want to sell. Again, no one thought Charles;s call was ok. And no one thought his affair was ok, just as no one thought Diana;s affairs were ok. If anything Diana got less heat than Charles.

i think you are so deep in a trench of you’re own digging you’re losing, lost all credibility. Diana was shagging a married man. It ended his marriage. No one behaved in a dignified manner and no one was treated like it was ok.

to put it bluntly, you’re talking a load of shite.

Are you getting all that from a reputable source?

I actually don't disagree with you that Charles should never have married Diana, though. She was too young and already fucked up from her parents' behaviour, it was never going to work.

I honestly don’t know. But people - I guess more precisely ‘royalist’ always comment that she insulted the Queen, and therefore they will never forgive her. I think people just enjoy hate. They enjoy the feeling of hating someone so they hold onto it.

My sympathies were always with Diana. She gets very maligned on here frequently. Imagine being just 20 years old, marrying your fairytale prince, and on the honeymoon or weeks before the wedding finding a bracelet engraved with their pet names Gladys and Fred. She was a lamb to the slaughter. Charles never really gave up Camilla.

MaturingCheeseball · 08/10/2025 15:44

@BrillantBriony - look, the woman’s just not very nice. I think she and her Soho House crew homed in on Prince Thicko and then it turned out that royal living was less endless riches and outfits and more opening dreary old community centres in Wigan.

They didn’t bail for a quiet life in Canada (at which point I was with them) but for the high-handed and very cheeky half-in half-out glamorous bits only scenario.

Then they hot-footed it to California where Meghan at least thought she was going to be a celebredeee A Lister.

If we’re all so racist, how come very prominent poc and liberals in the US have now given them an incredibly wide berth? Here’s a clue: Meghan is not well liked by many people.
