This is real. It’s on her IG page. What in dingo’s kidneys is this?

Definitely awkward to watch that. I'll go on stage and then I'll walk right back off 😳

Has anyone else seen the clip form Kevin Costners charity do? Harry is on stage talking with a microphone, Meghan then comes onstage does her normal grab of Harry and tries to grab the microphone but he moves it out of her reach so she turns and walks off stage? I’ll try and find it

I didn't see it like that. She seemed like she was surprised to be in stage, got up there a bit late, let Harry know she was there, he didn't introduce her and she was confused and awkward and walked off.

I'm not sure. What I saw was Meghan following Harry but stopping to chat to some people backstage, so arriving a bit late. It did look like he was surprised to see her (odd to say "Oh, er...hi!" to his wife and then turn his back on her).
She couldn't have been surprised to be on stage: she walked up there herself.
It wasn't like the scene in "Love Actually" where Hugh Grant and Martine Mccutcheon realise they're in public when the curtain goes up.

Eta It was funnier though.

She's so rude as well - laughing and waving to people while he is talking 🙄

opencecilgee · 27/09/2025 12:02

its a v old photo (if real) he’s no longer Harry Wales

He will be paying for that at home 😂

IcedPurple · 27/09/2025 12:37

Quite a bizarre moment. He awkwardly said 'Oh hi' as if she were a stranger following him around.

And how ridiculous for them to be introduced by British peerage titles in California. But then, without those titles, who are they and why would they have been invited?

SpidersAreShitheads · 27/09/2025 13:46

I had to watch it twice as I didn’t initially notice her other hand come up and move towards taking the microphone. It’s fairly subtle but clear. Harry then swings to the side and she walks off.

Whether you believe she definitely was reaching for the mic or not (I think she was), to walk on, hug your husband and then walk off again is bloody weird.

I imagine Harry was surprised to see her as she didn’t arrive on stage with him - so maybe he thought she wasn’t coming up?

We’ve seen Meghan on stage just staring enraptured at Harry while he gives a speech so no reason why she couldn’t have done the same here.

Awkward and strange.

I take it back. Watching again, she didn't at all seem surprised to be going up. Harry was going on a looking back at her, smiling as he saw her with him. Then she stopped and spoke to the lady.

The weird bit was Harry saying "oh hi" ina. Confused manner and her then walking back off stage

Baital · 27/09/2025 14:55

Oh hi. Hi, hi, hi 😂

Totally agree.

40coats · 27/09/2025 16:24

Is it a real clip do you think or doctored?
It's very strange all around.

And notice he doesn't give her so much as a glance as she walks off.

Mind you, if my partner posted such an awful birthday pic of me, I wouldn't be on speaking terms with them either!

CathyorClaire · 27/09/2025 19:54

All I can say is it's marginally less awkward than her having to be prodded off...

ozarina · 27/09/2025 21:13

It's so bizarre - just watched it with the sound. Did she have a strop? She was announced.

Baital · 27/09/2025 21:15

It was very awkward. It seemed that they were jointly announced so were presumably both expected on stage. Then Harry seems surprised (and not very happy) to find her on stage next to him.

Very odd. Who knows?!

I thought Harry was quite dismissive to her. He didn't engage or even properly acknowledge her. He was focused on the audience.

Maybe just bad planning? Lack of communication beforehand?

He looks better in this one

(Still a horrible whining twat of a man though)

He doesn’t look better. He looks a bit goofy to me.

Honish · 27/09/2025 21:32

It looked to me like he didn't appreciate her proprietorial hand on the back and subtle/not so subtle 'I'll take it from here' manner as she reaches for the mic. He must've have felt shamed by all the mockery around her power-play dynamics over the years. I think he used to think it made him look modern/edgy/feminist/on trend to have his wife in the dominant role. But perhaps a dawning awareness over time that it looked bonkers.

He had centre stage and certainly didn't want to share it, let alone hand it over!

Hummingbirdtree · 27/09/2025 22:20

She looks to me like she just had to make her presence known, had to shoe horn herself in anyway she could. It was just so bizarre.

OtherS · 28/09/2025 03:23

It seems to me like she hung back so she could make her own entrance - let him go on first, then stroll in to her own cheers and smoothly take over the mic whilst he beams adoringly (and silently). He seemed to have other ideas, and maybe thought they should have come on together and be sharing the spotlight. Possibly he's getting mighty sick of her attention hogging. Weird she turned and just walked off though, she should have just taken the Harry role and stood there mute and beaming. She was presumably very surprised and confused and didn't know how to behave in the face of his insubordination.

Tourist29 · 28/09/2025 08:32

Why on earth are they being introduced with titles is America, or anywhere? Hard to believe it’s not their rider. It so contradicts her dismissal of anything royal.
