Prince Harry is relevant imo

He's the son of the King.

And will be the brother of the next King

we grew up with him around during QE2's reign

the discord on here for Harry is becoming laughable. Posters desperate to dig him out at every opportunity

Id welcome him back and I'm sure there are others that would too. Not on MN though.

William will make his own decisions about how to solve the Harry problem. So far his judgment has been better than his father’s.

In what way?

prelovedusername · 13/09/2025 21:58

It’s not turning, they’ve spotted another angle for clicks. This is just stirring the pot.

Op you are entitled to your opinion but do you really need to share it with everyone??

Why are you even on mumsnet if you don’t want people sharing their thoughts? That is the whole point of a forum. A place to share thoughts, questions, ask for advice.

What did you think it was for?

bumbaloo · 13/09/2025 22:00

Mylovelygreendress · 13/09/2025 16:36

Princess Margaret was the daughter then sister of a Monarch. When her son ( David Linley ) born he was 5th in the LOS. How relevant is he now to the Monarchy? Could you recognise him in the street ?
As the Wales DC grow up and have their own families , Harry will be as relevant as David Linley to the RF.

No he won’t. He will be as relevant as Margaret, Anne, Edward and the sex offender one are.

bapples1 · 13/09/2025 22:04

He is defo relevant, look at how many threads are on here about him or articles in the papers.

bapples1 · 13/09/2025 22:05

Do people think before they type? 🤔😆

How can he be as relevant - Edward and Anne are still working royals. How many people go to see and interact with Anne in her role in a year. It’s doubtful Harry will ever be a working royal again. He’ll never stand on a balcony or be involved in any big Royal events, except KC funeral.
He’s outside the circle, it’s clear he can’t be trusted not to blab.

When I say people don’t see him as royal, I mean that people know he doesn’t represent them anymore. When he goes to something he’s an individual.

I think he’s back as he’s trying to salvage Invictus. He’s made such a fuss about security he’s created a big mess of that aspect of it too. He needs the family and everything they bring to make it work.

TizerorFizz · 13/09/2025 22:49

@WaterfallSounds Because those 2 shock horror journalists say so? They have got your attention with rubbish haven’t they? That’s what they want. Clicks.

Luddite26 · 13/09/2025 23:04

Nobody likes liars.
They get flamed because they slapped the British public in the face.
Even non-royalists were glad to see him happy and doing it his way with a mixed race bride, an American divorcee! People were happy that they were happy.
Then they spat their solid gold dummies out when they were told they couldn't grift off the RF brand.
They've shown who they really are and stabbed everyone in the back.

BruFord · 13/09/2025 23:07

Sadly i think the reason Harry is trying to make a comeback is because thry have failed so badly in the USA and have nothing left.

I’m in the US and would agree that they’re not on the radar here now @Wildgoat There was a lot of fanfare when they first moved, but it’s all died down.

Which, if they’d wanted privacy and a privileged but relatively normal life, would be great. But that doesn’t seem to be the case. It would be nice if they could find life satisfaction here, but Harry doesn’t seem to have yet, tbh.

Thory · 13/09/2025 23:11

Nope he’s being welcomed back into the fold and it’s great

WaterfallSounds · 13/09/2025 23:22

@TizerorFizz
It’s not just them. BbC and Independent journalists are writing about William too, in negative terms.

@WaterfallSounds The late Queen was considered boring at certain points in her life and Princess Margaret was the fun princess. Long term, the Queen ended up being respected by most people. I think that William’s learnt from his grandmother and is playing the long game. He may end up reconciling with Harry but he’s not doing anything rash.

It would not be much of a forum if everyone kept their opinion themselves!

WaterfallSounds · 14/09/2025 00:22

@BruFord
You are not wrong but things are radically changed now.

Spectre8 · 14/09/2025 08:03

He is still Royal regardless, he was born a royal otherwise if he isnt well anyone csn be royal then. He just isnt a working royal.

I agree he is Royal however the point is- and others- have tried to make is that his relevance is diminishing. I used David Linley and the DOK as examples .

TizerorFizz · 14/09/2025 08:23

@BruFord It’s difficult to see what Harry would be good at. He liked being in the Army but he was somewhat protected from real Army life. He then struggled to find his niche in the RF and probably should have stayed in the Army longer. The Invictus games is the only thing he is known for.

It’s no surprise there’s no real zeal for any work in the USA. He's never really had to find work or a role. It’s been given to him. He’s a square peg in a round hole in the USA I would think. He’s undoubtedly good with people but I can see why Americans aren’t fussed about a non working Royal who isn’t taking part in the pomp and the RF show here or anywhere else. As usual, he’s the spare, and a dull one with grievances.

bluegreygreen · 14/09/2025 08:42

He's still the spare, and doesn't have the intelligence to realise that being the spare in the Royal household was actually the best position - privilege with minimal responsibility.

Your wish is my command ...

Charlotte Griffiths MOS

Over the last few weeks I have been seeing people on line commenting that KC3's team is briefing against the Prince of Wales. I haven't believed it, on the basis of it all being a bit too 'conspiracy theory' for me, but the persistence of the negative stories about the PoW associated with 'insider' comments is making me wonder.

Of course - I meant Harry is still 'spare' in his current life

Surely George is the 'heir'. Charlotte is the 'spare'
