It’s been 14 hours since the launch of the 2024 Rose. Nothing has sold out. This is despite it being designed again as a scarcity drop, so it can’t be argued she’s finally got her stock levels right.

  • As ever stated the wine launch going ‘live’ at on the 5th August. Language designed to get you to rush and buy. Just like all this SM shopping you get now.
  • Meghan put out a message many hours ago, stating that they have so much more stock (sad clapback to stuff not shifting) but hurry and be quick because it’s selling fast!!! (It’s clearly not)
  • This launch however, has attracted very little press compared to previous drops

The scarcity gimmick is already tired and because she’s been absent from SM for 2 months…save for a few stock images/videos- she’s lost any momentum she had. She’s putting in bare minimum and her customer base feel it. She’s checked out.

There’s been talk of another series of WLM 3 and Meg getting a new NF contract, but I think that is just to fill the void until she can get WLM2 out. At which point, we will find out if there is any truth in any further deals.

The reason why I doubt WLM3, is that for continuity, you would need the same venue. But the home is now being used to to host weddings etc, it’s no longer a private rental but one open to the public to rent. There’s no way Meg would film in that location now. In addition she would need to have gotten the go ahead already for WLM3 and be filming right now to be able to stick to a schedule. The fact that it isn’t already confirmed, it’s giving the signal that WLM is over (in addition to knowing NF deal is done)

Now if WLM is over, I don’t think she has the draw to pull people to As ever. She doesn’t engage with her fan base enough, she does the bare minimum of SM posts, which she hasn’t even achieved the last few months. The Shopmy page is dead too. This is why the new wine launch has barely registered and hasn’t sold out 14 hours later. Yes, there will be more stock but it’s been designed for a sell out so there won’t be huge numbers.

As ever I think will be slowly wound down. There will be WLM2, with maybe another 18 months of drops. Then like everything else, it will be dropped quietly. Everyone is starting to get a bit bored by the half hearted, very beige effort she’s put into her ‘business’ and have tuned out.

She will have to launch yet another version of herself very soon. We’ve had actress, feminist, activist, producer, philanthropist….now female founder. God knows what’s next!

She clearly doesn’t know her market, her limited market is the Stans/squad and I suspect that demographic can’t afford 3 bottles of wine plus shipping, she’s aiming for a market that wouldn’t dream of having her wine on their table so it was always going to fail, she needs to aim for the market who she appeals to though they are never going to make her a billionaire.

This,

you only have to see the reposts from her customers to understand it’s not the demographic for a successful brand, basically its nothing more than fan merch on a very limited scale.

ThePoshUns · 11/08/2025 08:18

Yes the reels that she’s reposting are accounts with less than 100 followers, no great reach. The post of her shadow is being compared to the classic Nosferatau (sp) shadow, creeping up the stairs.

ThePoshUns · 11/08/2025 08:20

It’s so amateur

Mylovelygreendress · 11/08/2025 08:30

Still not sold out .

That’s the one @EmpressSisi!

That Nosferatu clip reminds me of this scene from Night of the Hunter starring Robert Mitchum.

I thought this new release was going to be a sparkling wine.

Now that’s a scary film!

There is nothing wrong with not selling out, the problem so far is that the business success has been measured by selling out and by Meghan herself. It was also clear that this drop whilst bigger (bigger than what is not revealed) it was still meant to sell out. From the PR piece being premature and the buy quickly it's sellling out message. The drop was not meant to last this long.

QueenOfHertz · 11/08/2025 13:26

Maybe she’ll give Peter P a case or two as a wedding present.

CoffeeCantata · 11/08/2025 13:44

I wonder if Meghan's interest in As Ever will hold up? She hasn't got a great record for staying power and as pps have often said, such businesses need long-term thinking and sustained hard work if she's going to expand its appeal beyond her devoted fans.

It's the same old, same old. She gets bored quickly because her 'passion' for her many projects isn't authentic. When I think of the people who built up successful businesses in the past, they all had a passion and a vision which they communicated to the public and they put in the work over a long period:

Laura Ashley
Anita Roddick (Body Shop)
Terence Conran (Habitat, Conran Shop)
Toast
The White Company
King Charles!!!😁

...to mention just British ones.

I know some of these businesses have now folded but they lasted for 50 + years, had a major influence on public taste and habits. and the guiding spirit of the starter was a crucial part of the appeal.

SuziQuinto · 11/08/2025 13:49

Unfortunately, I think she put too much score on her title. Being royal has given her a great deal, and I have the impression that it's very important to her, and something which she believed could create a business.
It's tough though, and it's a saturated market. She's going to have to rely on more than her fan base to succeed at a decent level.

BemusedAmerican · 11/08/2025 14:01

She's no Martha Stewart. 😁

Agreed - I think the article @atlasvuelinked above said there was 3x more stock than the first “drop” of wine?

You don’t have to be a genius to work out that if your first drop sells out in 45 minutes, and your second hasn’t sold out almost a week later then the sales rate has dropped off a cliff. If she’d ordered 20x the stock you might reasonably expect that she wants a sustainable sales rate, but at only 3x more with the first selling out in 45 minutes, that has to suggest they were hoping for another sell out in a matter of hours.

EmpressSisi · 11/08/2025 18:58

A little off topic, but I just visited Flamingo Estate and noticed they’re selling Pamela’s Pickles by Pamela Anderson. They’re highlighted on the main page as one of the ‘most loved’ products, with 100% of the proceeds going to charity!

I’ve always been a fan of Pamela Anderson, and I’m a big pickle fan myself. Plus, it looks like it’s made from an old family recipe—delicious! 😋

I can’t help but think Meghan could really benefit from a similar partnership.

But there’s no profit in that for them.

“Netflix is keeping its ties to Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan. But those ties are getting looser.

The production company for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has signed a new deal with Netflix, the two companies announced Monday morning. But it’s worth less for the royals than their last arrangement with the streaming giant, a person familiar with the deal said”

Eeek!

Let’s hope they have some good ideas or else they might find themselves a bit stuck!

Serenster · 11/08/2025 19:46

Interesting that they haven’t announced a new series of “With Love, Meghan” to go along with the new “first look” deal. Just a screening date for the second series (in the can already as it was filmed at the same time as the first series) and a documentary about Ugandan orphans.

I suspect the latter is like their “Live to Lead” series - already produced by another company but picked up by Meghan and Harry to take to Netflix?

So the only new production is a “holiday special” of With Love, Meghan. I wonder of that will be filmed at the original location? (going back to the same house for a one-off show would be an expensive production. I guess it could have been filmed already too?) I suppose Netflix wants to see how part two does before committing to any more?

HeadDeskHeadDesk · 11/08/2025 19:49

Well if it is all over, then the name As Ever is a bit unfortunate, isn't it. It's more like As Six Months Or So.

CathyorClaire · 11/08/2025 20:13

A first look deal basically gives NF first refusal, yes?

So the Sussexes get to take on all the production costs yet risk their projects getting turned down and having to hawk them all over?

What could possibly go wrong? 😁

If they can’t produce anything decent with Netflix how the hell will they cope when released into the wild? This is going to be interesting! 😳 🍿🍿🍿

It's amazing how people can spin success into failure. Although, those who gravitate to these threads each and every day have a lot of practice creating fairy tales. Glad the Sussexes can continue to laugh in the face of their detractors, especially the most deluded ones 😙😚😘Harry and Meghan sign new multi-year Netflix deal 👏

Harry and Meghan sign new multi-year Netflix deal

It's a looser arrangement than their previous deal - and comes ahead of a second series of Meghan's cookery show being screened later this month.
