It’s been 14 hours since the launch of the 2024 Rose. Nothing has sold out. This is despite it being designed again as a scarcity drop, so it can’t be argued she’s finally got her stock levels right.

  • As ever stated the wine launch going ‘live’ at on the 5th August. Language designed to get you to rush and buy. Just like all this SM shopping you get now.
  • Meghan put out a message many hours ago, stating that they have so much more stock (sad clapback to stuff not shifting) but hurry and be quick because it’s selling fast!!! (It’s clearly not)
  • This launch however, has attracted very little press compared to previous drops

The scarcity gimmick is already tired and because she’s been absent from SM for 2 months…save for a few stock images/videos- she’s lost any momentum she had. She’s putting in bare minimum and her customer base feel it. She’s checked out.

There’s been talk of another series of WLM 3 and Meg getting a new NF contract, but I think that is just to fill the void until she can get WLM2 out. At which point, we will find out if there is any truth in any further deals.

The reason why I doubt WLM3, is that for continuity, you would need the same venue. But the home is now being used to to host weddings etc, it’s no longer a private rental but one open to the public to rent. There’s no way Meg would film in that location now. In addition she would need to have gotten the go ahead already for WLM3 and be filming right now to be able to stick to a schedule. The fact that it isn’t already confirmed, it’s giving the signal that WLM is over (in addition to knowing NF deal is done)

Now if WLM is over, I don’t think she has the draw to pull people to As ever. She doesn’t engage with her fan base enough, she does the bare minimum of SM posts, which she hasn’t even achieved the last few months. The Shopmy page is dead too. This is why the new wine launch has barely registered and hasn’t sold out 14 hours later. Yes, there will be more stock but it’s been designed for a sell out so there won’t be huge numbers.

As ever I think will be slowly wound down. There will be WLM2, with maybe another 18 months of drops. Then like everything else, it will be dropped quietly. Everyone is starting to get a bit bored by the half hearted, very beige effort she’s put into her ‘business’ and have tuned out.

She will have to launch yet another version of herself very soon. We’ve had actress, feminist, activist, producer, philanthropist….now female founder. God knows what’s next!

No one is “bitching” about you. You have fundamentally misunderstood what a poster said. “Threatening us with glasses” does not mean that the poster feels threatened, does it? It is an idiomatic expression that means something might happen. Like “it’s threatening rain”. Maybe just acknowledge you were mistaken and move on. It happens 🤷‍♀️

AtIusvue · 09/08/2025 09:31

Anyone good at maths? help me out

So Megsy has clapped back because of articles saying her wine hasn’t sold out this time. boo hoo

https://www.harpersbazaar.com/celebrity/latest/a65627708/meghan-markle-rose-wine-as-ever-company-sales-2025/

the article says:

  • 2023 rose sold out in 45 mins
  • So the inventory increased by 3 times for 2024 drop
  • sold nearly 50 percent more on day one of its 2024 drop than it did on its 2023 drop.
  • 10,000 bottles were sold in the first 10 mins of the 2024 rose.

also

  • 2024 wine hasn’t sold out over the 5 days it’s been up for sale.
  • we know from puck news the stock of the 2023 drop wasn’t huge.

So

  • Regardless of the actual quantities, if she has 3 times the stock of first wine lot that sold out in 45 mins, why didn’t the 2024 drop sell out in 2hrs 15 mins? Why hasn’t it sold out, we are on day 5!!!!
  • From above, we know at least 10,000 bottles were sold on the first day 2024, Which is 50% more that the whole stock of the 2023 drop that sold out that day. So that the 10,000 bottles are for the first 10 mins - so let’s say the total sold that day was 15,000 bottles.
  • That would put the 2023 drop at 10,000 bottles (Which sold out in 45 mins) and the inventory number for 2024 drop 30,000 bottles.
  • But they sold 10,000 in ten mins for the 2024 drop…..but the other 20,000 hasn’t shifted in 5days???!!!!!! That makes no sense
  • They sold a huge chunk of their stock on the first day of 2024 and for the following 4 days, must have hardly sold any.
  • The only way that makes sense, is if it’s the superfans anxiously waiting, buy in the first tens mins. Now sales have dropped off a cliff edge because the general public aren’t interested.
  • So it shows this is not a sustainable business.

Do you really want it to be over? What will you do with your time if you can't obsess over a stranger?!

Exactly! The hatred for someone that doesn’t even know you exist is bonkers isn’t it!

Hear hear to this! It’s really odd.

She’s not in the UK any more. She is not harming anyone on this thread fhs! At least they are attempting to make their own living.

And if her business enterprise fails then it is only to their own detriment.

ThePoshUns · 09/08/2025 10:01

That’s interesting @AtIusvue. I agree the only people that would be interested in buying her wine are the squaddies.
Anyone else would be embarrassed to have it on their table.

Vogue, for good measure.

Don't forget they have hired an army of PR specialists on both sides of the Atlantic, while the war room are otherwise occupied, they still need to push her brand.

I am always behind the curve, just catching up this thread. With all the hiring/firing of PR are they still with WME? Not heard them mentioned so I have probably missed that.

Whether people know you or you know them is irrelevant as to whether you like or dislike them. There are plenty of public figures and celebrities I like or don’t like and I don’t know any of them personally.

Your point is ridiculous and very hackneyed.

I have no idea what hackneyed means, sorry.

It’s pretty energy consuming to hate someone you don’t know, surely. What Meghan Markle does or doesn’t do has absolutely zero effect on your life. So why dedicate time worrying about it? Not liking someone is one thing, starting threads and obsessing over their every move is a bit more than that, isn’t it. It’s unhinged in all honesty.

Who’s hating? I’ve not seen anyone saying they hate her. She’s a public figure, so it’s perfectly reasonable to fairly critique and criticise her actions. She’s also trying to sell products, so her strategy is absolutely open to scrutiny if people choose to discuss it.

Are we only allowed to talk about people we personally know? That would make for a very dull Mumsnet. And just as we don’t know her — nor does she “know we exist” — the same applies to her supporters and the Sussex Squad. It works both ways.

Criticism is hate ,
noticing and commenting is bullying,

what they really want is for everyone to say nothing but complimentary things and ignore all the unfortunate cock ups!

So basically, anyone daring to offer critique — rather than fawning and gushing over her every move — is “hating”? Got it. To everyone else, that’s called fair critique and discussion. She has a business, and people are naturally curious about how she is running it and whether it’s going to be successful.

jeffgoldblum · 09/08/2025 11:02

It’s sad that these posters don’t realise that threads are started whenever something happens,
there would not be “endless “ threads if h and m weren’t constantly doing and saying “endless “ things worthy of criticism!

It’s hilarious, isn’t it? Maybe they’d be better off setting up a fan club where “haters” aren’t allowed. This is Mumsnet, not North Korea — we’re allowed to fairly critique. The Sussexes are public figures, which means they can be held accountable for their bad decisions and questionable choices. Meghan is also trying to shill her produce to the public, so it’s only fair that we are allowed research and critique the company, the products, and how she’s running it.

If that level of scrutiny is too much for her/her fans, perhaps the problem isn’t the criticism — it’s that they can’t defend her and her decision making.

jeffgoldblum · 09/08/2025 11:36

Well quite!
must not criticise “dear leader” .

Thedom · 09/08/2025 11:39

Oh wow, I hadn’t realized that before, so I went to check it out. It looks like you can only buy the wine in sets of three, which comes to $90—plus around $20 for shipping. Yikes! That’s roughly £66 in total, or about £22 per bottle, with nearly £15 extra for delivery. So basically, she’s forcing customers to spend a minimum. I really dislike when companies do that, although to be fair, most companies set their minimum spend below £66. 😮

For comparison, I looked at Highgrove’s still wines—most are priced around £15 per bottle, with one at £21.95. Their standard delivery is £7.95, and next-day delivery £8.95. The best part is, you can buy just a single bottle there.

Maybe this explains why her wine isn’t selling well. She really needs to reconsider this approach. Her fans might be happy to spend on something linked to her name, but the average buyer, regardless of budget, isn’t likely to commit to buying three bottles plus expensive shipping for a wine they can’t even taste or try individually beforehand.

Thedom · 09/08/2025 12:26

I guess a minimum quantity does make sense when you have an expensive delivery cost, but still, it means they had at the very most 3,000 orders, it s not exactly stellar considering the marketing and promotion that has gone into it and the crazy fans spending, what seems to be, their last dime to purchase it.
