TBH I don't have a very high opinion of him.
He doesn't have a royal title but he does get all the perks including a house so he's never had to work properly or manage money. The businesses he has had seem to have not done too well and I imagine he gets some work because of the royal connections.

Yes, I think she's from a wealthy family. No point in being "sickened" by the cost of her outfits. I'm sure nurses couldn't afford the wardrobes of other wealthy women.

Not what I've seen. They holiday in Scotland every summer, and go sailing. They like to visit lighthouses. They stay in small places, B&Bs and don't make a fuss, eating in local restaurants and to all appearances, are happy and companionable couple.
Maybe they're good actors.
